Description from the owner
Great for families, group get togethers, or a romantic getaway for two. Surrounded by forest hardwood and pine, our privately owned, secluded cabin stands atop a bluff overlooking Little Eagle Creek. It is in the beautiful Kiamichi Mountains of southeast Oklahoma, in a rural community called Octavia which is close to Smithville and Broken Bow.
From the cabin, park-style rock and wood steps take you all the way down to the creek, and a short 1/4 mile walking trail takes you along the bluff’s edge. Half way along the trail sits a log bench for hikers to relax, enjoy the woods and watch for wildlife. Deer, otter, squirrels, a host of...Read more

Additional Location Information
The cabin itself is built on seven acres of private owned land in a small rural community in the Kiamichi Mountains. Our community is sparcely populated with over a large area, but folks are close knit neighbors meeting together for a variety of community activities. We have two gas/grocery/deli stations, 4 churches, and one cafe within four to seven miles of the cabin. Talimena National Scenic Byway, famous for its beauty expecially in the fall is about 20 miles north. Honobia, known for the Big Foot Festival is about 18 miles west
We provide (free of charge) access to 4,800 acres of beautiful, privately owned forest with many miles of mountain trails for hiking, dirt bike riding, or ATV riding, except during hunting seasons (Oct 1 – Jan 1 and the turkey hunting week in May). Bring your own dirt bikes and ATV’s, or ATVs can be rented from Ouachita Mountain ATV Rentals, which is about 45 miles from here. They can deliver.
For the hunters, Three Rivers Forest Wildlife Management Area is less than 10 miles away. Also 10 miles away is the Ouachita National Forest which has miles and miles of dirt roads for ATVs, horses, or hiking. There are many cleared and marked hiking trails there.
We are close to Beavers Bend State Park, and Broken Bow Lake, one of the best year round fishing spots in Oklahoma. Fish species include: large-mouth and small-mouth bass, white (sand) bass, crappie, channel catfish, flathead catfish and various species of sunfish. Dirt road access is about 15 miles from here. Access by highway is about 40 miles from here. Eagle Creek flows into Mountain Fork River which is 8 miles south and has great fishing as well. Cedar Creek Lake, home of the Oklahoma state record bass, is also 45 minutes away.
There are several places to rent kayaks and canoes close to the river. They will take the kayak or canoe to the shove-off site and pick them up for you at the end of your trek.

Reno, TexasLoved, loved, loved this cabin!
Left on 01/04/2013 for a stay in July 2012
It is beautiful, unique, and well kept. It is definitely a luxury cabin. We couldn't have found a more enjoyable place to gather with family. The pool table was a huge hit. We made many memories at the firepit roasting marshmallows and visiting on the deck. The hammock is nice! The location is very peaceful, all to itself, with beautiful views of the mountains. The kids liked the rock steps to the creek. I was impressed with the level of detail you put into making us feel welcome. We wished we could have stayed longer and definitely plan to be back.
