The Village at Sugarplum Unit L is a three bedroom condo with 2.5 baths that sleeps six people in its four beds. It is beautifully furnished and intimate for small groups and families. It has lively décor and lovely views through the trees to the majestic peaks beyond. The main living area is an open floor plan with a well appointed kitchen, dining and living rooms. Unit L is comfortable, but very dated. For the location and price, we were expecting more high end accomadations. The furniture and floors are very worn, there is only a single, small (old) TV and a very outdated video player and stereo. The kitchen and bathrooms look and feel right out of the late 1980's. And do not be fooled by the "ski in/ski out" label. To get to the put in/ take out area, is quite a hike and with heavy equipment, it just wasn't convienient. So, to summarize, I probably wouldn't stay here again, given that there are other places nearby that looked way more modern and updated.

Canyon Services believes that The Village at Sugarplum, Unit L, is a beautiful condominium with gorgeous wood floors that are in pristine condition and Southwest Style furnishings. That style for a mountain ski retreat it is both homey and delightful. That said, we understand that rental properties require constant care and updating and each summer these units receive our full attention.
Canyon Services staff work with individual owners during summer months to update, modernize and customize their properties. Occasionally, circumstances prevent those updates on a certain schedule.
Along the same vein, ski-in/ski-out can take a variety of forms. These condos are not sold as being on a ski run. In Little Cottonwood Canyon, these condominiums are considered to have ski-in/ski-out access to Snowbird via Intermediate trails. The access can change from day to day, depending on snow and weather conditions. Our staff is always available and willing to assist guests with information on how to make the best of the ski-in/out options.

This property was listed as ski in/ski out with 3 bedfrooms and 3.5 properties. It is neither. There are 3 bedrooms with 2.5 baths. We did manage to get to Snowbird on our skis after climbing over a huge pile of plowed snow and putting on our skis to ski through a wooded area. Luckily, we had goggles and helmets due to the branches whipping our faces and heads. We never figured out a good way to ski back although you can get close. Nonetheless, you need to take off your skis and walk about 50 yards through snow.
The kitchen was well-equipped and the rental property managers very nice. However, there were two overhead lights that were out and the entire mechanism had to be replaced. This was not completed when we were there which made cooking and dinner and clean up a little more difficult. Also, the refrigerator did not cool very well.

This property is ski in/ski out by way of an intermediate skier made trail through the trees to Snowbird Ski resort. It is unfortunate that our office staff did not know you were experiencing trouble with ski in/ski out. They would have gladly shown you the easiest way to get back to your condo.
