Description from the manager
Hacienda Caracol is one of the most luxurious private villas in all the Riviera Maya. Located in Soliman Bay, a charming beach located along the second largest coral reef in the world, Caracol is a Mexican hacienda-style villa with a touch of Italian design.
Let the chef cook exquisite meals for you in the fully equipped professional kitchen while you enjoy them on the outdoor marble table by the pool, or on the shaded rooftop sofas which offer a magnificent view of the entire bay.
In the main house, there are eight luxurious bedrooms. Each bedroom has its own flat screen TV with satellite and en suite bathroom. The stunning bedro...Read more

The best vacation our family has ever experienced,
Left on 03/21/2013 for a stay in November 2012
Non stop flight from NC for only 2 and a half hours, van waiting to pick us up Villa was ready and exceeded our expectations, weather was excellent, We used the sample menus sent to us and didnt change anything. Chef took care of everything from there and was truely fantastic. Staff was friendly and stayed out of our way. We never felt unsafe or concerned about anything. Everyone had a memerable experience - Paul G., South Carolina, USA

Relaxing but problematic with ear infections from pool
Left on 03/21/2013 for a stay in July 2012
The house and staff were wonderful. The house lived up to the billing. The staff was nice and worked hard to accommodate our needs. We were disappointed with the beach. It had 20 yards of growing seaweed and tons of rocks. As soft sand and clear water beach access is the reason we come to Mexico, we wish we had been better counseled on beach conditions. We would have selected another villa. Because the beach was unswimmable, the 11 kids spent a lot of hours each day in the pool. 5 kids developed severe ear and throat infections. We believe the pool was not properly chlorinated. Having to find a doctor in Mexico and treat the illnesses put a damper on the vacation. We were also surpised that we had to bring thousands of dollars in cash to pay for the food. We felt it was unsafe for it to be common knowledge that visitors staying in the villas had large sums of cash in hand. We thought that by going thru Luxury Retreats would allow us to incur costs and pay on credit card. - Mita K., Maryland, USA

PARADISE, Awesomeness, fantastic, incredible, GREAT, delicious!!
Left on 03/21/2013 for a stay in July 2012
First of all I want to say that the house was absolutely amazing!! the area is gorgeous, the best place to snorkel, kayak, fish, take walks and just RELAX!!!. Many places to go visit and many activities for every age, we had a group of 14 with children from the age of 7 up to 20. I do want you to know though that there was a MAJOR lack of communication between the concierges at Luxury Retreats and the manager of the Villa in Mexico, upon arrival, we were to meet our Villa manager, well the main one, Anna was on vacation and she left someone else, Ivan, who NEVER showed the first 3 days, he finally showed up on Tuesday around 9:00 PM gave me a lame excuse about why he did not come to great us as he was to do, and then left. Also, according to Claudia and Jennifer, we were to have bathroom supplies, and the use of the laundry facilities, well we got a tiny soap bar and no use of laundry. For the amount you pay for the Villa, you should be able to use laundry and get bathroom supplies. - Claudia B., Pennsylvania, USA

Experiance of a Lifetime.
Left on 03/21/2013 for a stay in March 2012
I took 17 family members on a week trip and everythign was perfect. The house was big enough for privacy and room to accomodate all of us. The entertaining areas worked great for a large group. Chef was fabulous and the place was very clean. Beach was wonderful. The Staff worked extremely hard to please. I have been to Mexico 20 somethign times and stayed at 20 somethign different places...this is one place I woudl return to!! - Eric F., Oklahoma, USA

Great property and staff
Left on 06/07/2012 for a stay in April 2012
Excellent property and wonderfull staff. Even with 9 rooms occupied there was plenty of space so we didn't feel like we were on top of one another. The gardener and his crew were excellent. Alberto and his cooking crew made some of the best food we've ever had. We had our wedding at their other property, Casa Yardena, and I would recommend even using the house chefs to do a reception dinner.
A few things:
1. They do have snorkeling gear (including fins) but consider bringing aqua socks since there's a lot of seaweed stuff getting out from the shore.
2. While you can snorkel right from the beach, the good stuff isn't till the breakers. Fortunately there's a booey. You can take one of there kyhacks out to it, tie up, and snorkel there.
3. They are strict about outside people visiting so if you plan to do so, make sure to notify them.
4. Unless you want to spend many hours at the supermarket, bring a lot of cash so they cooks can shop for you.
5. It's a very bumpy dirt road from the highway to the villas so be prepared for that.
Nevertheless it's an excellent place with an excellent staff which we would highly recommend. We definitely hope to go back soon
