Reno, NVEagle Springs East 107- highly recommended.
Left on 03/20/2013 for a stay in March 2013
We had a great week at Solitude, staying in ESE 107. Solitude is a relatively unknown gem and often overlooked. that's okay because we have the mountain to ourselves, even on a powder day. It's why I have been skiing here since 2001, and this unit is a beautiful condo in a great location. We slept 3 comfortably. Plenty of room with a nice Master BR and large bathroom. The location in the building cannot be beat: close to the main entrance and elevator to garage, next to the ski locker and laundry, next to the workout room, club Solitude, and pool area so you don't have to walk far when exhausted after a day of skiing. If a party slept the maximum of four people, there is only one bathroom but it is close to the bathroom and showers in Club Solitude if morning bathroom time is scarce. The trade-off is being on the first floor, the view is of the snowbank but that is ok with us. If I had suggestions, it would be that there is probably too much furniture in the living room, yet there is no dresser or drawer for a person sleeping on the sofa bed where clothing and items can be stored. The kitchen was also missing a few basic items, such as cookie baking sheets and a decent knife for those who are cooking. Overall, I would stay here again. I will almost certainly stay here again on my ne t trip to Solitude if I need a place for 3-4 people or less.

MichiganGreat being at Solitude but a little dissapointing.
Left on 03/06/2013 for a stay in February 2013
First off this is not a ski in ski out condo as advertised. You will either have to shuttle to the main base area, or walk through the little village to get to a lift. Not an easy walk in ski boots and skis in hand. There are no views as this is on the ground floor that is built into a hill, so you are looking strait into a close wall of snow. There is too much furniture for the space. A large kitchen table is not needed as there is ample room to sit at the kitchen bar. Two large mis-matched sofas and a large chair is overkill. Remember this is only a one bedroom place, so there would only be 4 people max here. There is no dresser in the bedroom, only two bed stands that are pretending to be the dresser.
Now the good. It's location is very close to the spa and pool area, so a quick trip down the hall and out the door you are there. You are staying at Solitude. The kitchen amenities are ample.
So over all it was a good place to stay, it just lacks the wow factors that you would expect for the money you will spend to stay here.Response from Canyon Vacation Rentals - 03/07/2013

Thank you for the comments. Perhaps we could clarify a few things...
The village at Solitude is located at the base of Solitude Ski Resort on a 12 acre developed site. We are sorry that you thought you could ski out of the property (no such properties exist at Solitude) however the walk to the nearest lift is manageable (about 100 yards through the quaint village). A map can be viewed showing the distance from Eagle Springs East to the Apex chairlift. Solitude/Alta/Snowbird all advertise their lodging as ski/in ski/out because it is not necessary to get in a car to get to the nearest lift.
In regard to the furniture arrangement, most of the comments from prior guests have been positive about having extra leather pieces to relax after a long day on the ski mountain. One of the couches serves as a pull out sleeper sofa bed. Your suggestions have been passed along to the owner. In terms of the views, the photos online depict the convenient ground floor location (one Winter shot, and one Summer). The master bedroom offers 2 nightstands on each side of bed, + 2 other 3 drawer (nightstand/dressers) + full closet with 2 luggage stands. -
Kiwi
Wellington NZAn enjoyable stay at Solitude
Left on 04/03/2012 for a stay in March 2012
We stayed here for a week in early march and found the condo a very attractive comfortable unit, very good quality. As we had no car and were coming by UTa bus, we were unable to stop and pick up the key. I contacted Vacation Rentals and they brought the key up, no hassles.
The amenities added to the attraction of the stay, especially the Club Solitude facilities, the pools, internet access and friendly help. Dining out was easy with at least 3 options and of course apres ski options abounded. The shuttle to Moonbeam lodge is a bonus, making it easy to connect with the UTa buses etc.
Some minor niggles spoiled a perfect score, no baking dishes for the oven, no can opener, a slightly leaky tap and the ski locker instructions assumed local knowledge on how to operate an american combination lock. Being Kiwis, we sort help from the Club manager next door and she had us sorted in a few minutes!
All in all a very good experience, well facilitated by everyone.Response from Canyon Vacation Rentals - 05/17/2012

Thank you for the feedback. The kitchen items mentioned and leaky tap have been addressed. Thanks for your business and hope you return soon:)

Booking this condo was very straightforward. We liked the spaciousness of this condo. Plus it had everything we could have wanted in it in terms of appliances and kitchen tools. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was very big & the shower was good. It was quiet, and yet was right next to the ski lockers and laundry, which was very handy. We were also right next to Club Solitude, and while there were quite a few people about, there was no noise at all. We were very lucky to be in Solitude for some really excellent snow over Easter. Its a great little place and we had a blast.

Vienna, VAAmazing!

We really enjoyed the property and condo. Our only complaint was lack
of
drawer space and hangers. Some pillows that didn't feel like they
had cotton
balls in them would have been nice too after a long day of
skiing. :)
Nicely decorated, large and perfect for our family of
4!

The rating of one star was a mistake... see email chain below.
I meant to put amazing, so I will make the change! Sorry for that and thanks again for your condo! We had a great time!

Hi Jenn,
My name is Damon Lowe and I am the owner of Eagle Springs East #107 (the property where you stayed at Solitude). I am also the manager and co-owner of Canyon Vacation Rentals.
We just received notice (see below) that you gave the property only a 1 out of 5 star rating for your stay a couple weeks ago. We are hoping that was a mistake in reading your mostly positive comments, but also want to hear first hand about your experience. We take very seriously the feedback given by our guests and we want to make things right. We also want to protect ourselves from future guests looking at a 1 star rating... which obviously makes us look bad and will affect our rentals for that property. FYI, I purchased new pillows for the property today (thanks for that feedback).
Anyway, we would appreciate hearing from you...

The room was exactly as presented and very clean. My wife, son & I enjoyed fresh powder for several days! My son keeps talking about how cool Club Solitude was and how much fun it was to sit in the hot tubs after skiing while it was still snowing! We will be back for sure!
