Loved the condo and the slopes

Left on 03/14/2013 for a stay in February 2013

Four day ski trip, first time to Solitude. We loved the quick trip from the airport to the resort. Remember to buy groceries before you leave SLC and get into the valley.

The condo was easy to check in (off site at the rental office) and easy to find the resort. The underground parking was nice, although not well marked in the building, so a bit of a challenge to find the elevator and right area to park the first night, but after that it was easy.

The condo was very nice, one master bedroom with private bath and an office/second bedroom with two twin size murphy beds and a private bath. The kitchen was awesome with more pots, pans, strainers, silverware, appliances, etc than any rental we have ever stayed at. This is important at this resort do to the limited dining out options, but it was wonderful to cook in and spend family time together (isn't that the point?).

The ski rental shop is in the first floor of the same building and the resort lift ticket office is as well. Very convenient, walk out to lift is great! Ski storage off the first floor lobby. Well planned.

The slopes are nice with no waiting. Not crowded but plenty of mountain. One note about the lifts...the name of the lift is not written on the signs around the lift. This is confusing because it is very easy to ski from one lift to another and not know exactly where you are. Signs would help (like most other places).

We chose to ski Brighton one day which is just s few miles up the road, which was nice to try something different that is so convenient, and the lodging is much nicer at Solitude that Brighton.

We ate (and drank) at several local establishments. All were good and reasonable for resorts, but close early and slection is limited. We hope it continues to grow a little and the selection continues to expand.

We had great snow, sunny skies, well groomed hills, comfortable accomodations and a great time! Highly recommend it.

      solitude is wonderful

Left on 01/30/2013 for a stay in January 2013

great for the family to be together and the set-up is so low key and focused on the skiing and being together. Powderhorn is just right. Our card keys didn't work a few times. that was a pain.

      Outstanding family ski vacation

Left on 01/13/2012 for a stay in January 2012

The unit has a good view and is well-decorated and beautifully maintained. The gas fireplace is a nice touch and heats the unit well. Everything is high quality, from the furniture and electronics to the kitchen gadgets. Powderhorn Lodge is lovely, upscale without being pretentious. The underground parking is a nice luxury. Quick walk to the slopes. Staff is friendly throughout the Solitude resort. The village is cute, with an outdoor skating rink in the center, a good pizza place and a few mid/high-end restaurants. No retail store clutter. Offerings are limited at the convenience store - be sure to stop for groceries before driving up the canyon!

      Exceptional Condo

Left on 12/21/2011 for a stay in December 2011

We are here from Dec. 16-23 2011. Condo is on the 4th floor with views of slope that comes down to the apex lift. This unit is exceptionally clean and equipped with everything you would possibly need to make it your home away from home. All linens, appliances, pots, and cutlery are new or like new. There is a Nintendo Gamecube and several board games as well. Sunrise lift, Apex lift, and the top of Easy Street are a short walk away. Club Solitude offers a heated pool, hot tub, pool table, foosball table, a station with xboxes, fitness center, sauna, and a theater room. There is also an ice skating rink right outside the lodge. Overall, this condo is a great value, very clean, fairly convenient, and very well stocked.
