Have you ever noticed how most all the condos in ski resorts look alike? That is because the owners don't care enough about their properties to personalize them, or they just view the condo as a revenue source. If you like homogenous ski condos, you will hate Powderhorn 103. Our condo is a one bedroom (King) Executive Suite because in addition to being my home away from home, it is my Western office. We have replaced all the "condo101" artwork, installed new lighting, new carpet (2012), installed new flat panel HD televisions and many more additions to make your feel like home here.The skiing is as good or better than anywhere in the world bu...t I still have to run my businesses when I am here. If you intend to work some during your vacation, or vacation some during your work trip, then take a serious look at our place. If you are coming for total relaxation and to enjoy the beautiful Wasatch mountains, then use the desk for a place to charge your ipods, pads and phones. There is no rule that you have to work here after all! The bunk beds are gone and were replaced with a full size desk which contains all the traditional office supplies you might need as well as a printer. We have both wireless and hard wired high speed internet here in the condo and domestic phone service is provided at no charge to you. If business (or recreation) beckons from the Salt Lake City area, we are only a 35 minute drive into the city.

One additional bonus of PH103 is that we have direct village access via a gated patio and what has been aptly named "the party path". This path allows egress into the village without going through the lobby and puts you on the sidewalk in front of the skating rink. Speaking of the village, if you are not familiar with Solitude, it is a laid back European style ski village with the best snow, terrain and people you'll find in any resort, anywhere! We are not Park City so if you desire round the clock boutiques and hundreds of bars and crowds of people trying to impress, you should stay over there. We have a few nice restaurants and bars and folks here tend to go to bed early. If you want to find late night action, then you are heading into the Salt Lake Valley or over to Park City (or making friends with the locals and finding the bonfire).

Club Solitude is available to you as a guest and is about 100 steps away on the other side of the skating rink. The Club has a heated outdoor pool, hot tubs, saunas, weight room, playroom for kids, TV room where they show movies and a billiards room.

The national ski publications always rank Solitude highly for snow quality and quantity (avg 500+ inches), grooming, terrain and accessability. Truth is, you can find everything from beautiful courdoroy groomers, bunny slopes and steep & deep tree skiing here, there truly is something for everyone. The name Solitude is no accident, I have had many days where I feel like the only person on the hill, even on weekends. We do not have the massive crowds and the liftlines that the other Wasatch resorts endure, we have Solitude. There is a Solitude Nordic Center so if cross country skiing or snowshoeing is your passion, we can accomodate.

I enjoy cooking, especially after a long day of skiing or hiking, and our kitchen reflects that enjoyment. We have the usual pots and pans but also have a self grinding coffee maker, a fondue pot, a blender, red and white wine glasses, decent knives and other nice touches in the kitchen for you.

OK, lets talk about kids, shall we? Most condos of this size in the village advertise that they sleep 6 .... but that is what I call "sardining" and makes for a very crowded environment in my book. This condo is ideal for a couple and maybe one child (two if they are young and well behaved). Besides the King bedroom, there is a nice Serta Queen size pull out sofa and there is an airbed available. Solitude Mountain Resort is a European style ski village 15 miles up the Big Cottonwood Canyon. Three miles up the road is Brighton Resort. As our guest, you will enjoy free, underground parking for 1 vehicle. Many folks simply take a shuttle from the airport, stopping for groceries and beverages on the way up and never leaving. Winter recreation revolves arounf the Greatest Snow on Earth and a variety of terrain that caters to beginners, intermediates, expert and big mountain boarders and skiers. The Solitude Nordic Center offers cross country and snowshoeing trails galore. Summertime means hiking, mountain biking trails, a disc golf course on the mountain, fishing and golf within 15 miles.

  This was my family's third time in Solitude but thanks to Doug, his wife and his wonderful suite we felt the most welcomed and well taken care of. The place has probably one of the best locations in the entire building and is very well equipped. We will definitely be back.
