NorthamptonThe Best of Exmoor
Left on 06/17/2012 for a stay in September 2011
This cottage is in a dreat location. Looks out on the village green, in walking distance of the shops and the 2 village pubs.
The cottage is nicely furnished and very comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped but for those who prefer to eat out the pubs do great food. On the first floor there is a small very private balcony and to the rear of the property there is a large, very private garden which overlooks the river.
Exford provides easy access to Exmoor and it's stunning walks and views and there are some nice local walks too.
it also provides easy access to the north Devon coast.
We love it.

LondonGreat value for money
Left on 06/07/2012 for a stay in June 2012
A smart, comfortable cottage with modern (brand new) facilities including internet access that works, TV, DVD & video players, a fully-equipped kitchen and two very nice bathrooms. Excellent value for money with friendly customer service from both the owner and the caretaker. Location is perfect for exploring Exmoor and the surroundings as well as being convenient - village shop and two pubs across the road. It didn’t matter that it lashed it down all weekend because Exmoor is enchanting and there’s always the option of cosying-up in the cottage/pub. Importantly, nearby Withypool is within walking distance (1 hour) and home to the excellent Royal Oak which is a first class boozer serving excellent food. Highly recommended for a week/weekend away and very competitively priced.

We travelled in a group of 4 friends and after a long drive from London, we were delighted to arrive at this warm and cosy cottage.
The living room is welcoming with very comfortable sofas and the bedrooms are excellent with firm mattresses.
The spacious kitchen had everything we needed and milk, break and tea were also provided.
Highly recommended and unbeatable value for money for those travelling in a group. -

NorthamptonshireFun get away!!

The Cottage is set in an idyllic location, with breathtaking scenery all around. There was a diverse choice of activities, especially if you love being active and outdoors. We discovered plenty of charming little villages, and the beach wasn't far for a beautiful walk. The locals were lovely and friendly, plenty of great pubs to choose from with good grub. Due to English weather we didn't manage to achieve all we had planned but came up with plenty of fun indoor activities. All in all I cant wait to go back!!

We had a wonderful time at The Old Forge and the village of Exford. The rooms are lovely and the living room is so warm and cosy after a day out on the moors. The village is really convenient for everything in the area, from the seaside to the Exmoor pony centre, not to mention the lovely pubs in the village. Thank you for such a wonderful holiday!
