After a day of wine tasting or exploring the Sonoma/Napa Valleys, return to your bucolic retreat. Take a walk along the creek that borders the property and discover the diverse wildlife. Savor a glass of wine by the half acre fly fishing pond, or bring your own rod and catch a few big mouth bass before the resident blue heron gets them. Barbecue or dine on your very p...rivate patio overlooking rolling hills and horse pasture. Relax, unwind, and escape your everyday routine.

It is hard to imagine that these pristine and comfortable rooms were once stables for thoroughbreds and quarter horses. It has been transformed into a well appointed cottage, ideal for two guests with a separate bedroom and sitting room/full kitchen/dining area. All the amenities of home are provided for your enjoyment and convenience. Guests will find a welcoming bottle of premium local wine, snacks and breakfast items waiting for them. There is a variety of information in the cottage to help you with planning your activities, wine tasting, and menus for your dining adventures. Your hosts, who have lived in the Valley for over 30 years, are always happy to help with further information and arrangements.

Well behaved and friendly dogs are welcome with prior arrangement. Dogs love all the new intriguing smells, room to romp, and if they are water dogs, swimming in the pond. The cottage is yard is large and enclosed by a 4 foot secure fence. Bedding, bowls and treats are provided. We clean impeccably after every pet visit. Sorry, cats cannot be accommodated.

Due to the proximity of the large pond, this property is not appropriate for children.

Located in the lower western foothills overlooking the town of Sonoma. 4 miles or 9 to 10 minute drive to the downtown plaza. Many vineyards, wineries, and nice bicycling and hiking opportunities in the area. One hour drive to downtown San Francisco, the Sonoma Coast, Armstrong Redwoods, Healdsburg and the Alexander Valley or the Russian River Resorts.
Saucelito and Tiburon and the San Francisco and Angel Island ferries are only 40 minutes away.

$250/night. Sixth night free. $1375/week. 2 night minimum stay.
Cleaning fee included. 9% County occupancy tax. $20/night per pet.
Payment can be made by cash, check Visa or Master Card.
Calendar blocked and Confirmation sent upon receipt of a deposit of half of the amount due. Deposit is fully refundable up until 14 days prior to arrival date. If deposit by credit card, $35 is deducted from refund. No deduction if deposit is by check.

  Aldermews was the perfect place to stay in the wine country. Close to the Sonoma town plaza (5-10 minutes) and many wineries and vineyards, but just far enough away that you get beautiful country vistas, solitude and quiet. I loved looking at the horses, and wildlife from our private views from our patio, the bird life at the pond and my hikes along the creek.
  The interior of the cottage is warm, welcoming and very well appointed. The owners (locals for 30 years) have thought of every detail to make you feel at home (a well stocked refrigerator and kitchen, delicious scones etc), and are concerned that you have what you need to have the best vacation possible---information on local wineries and restaurants, as well as the "inside local scoop" on the sites.
  Overall, great place, great time and would stay here again.
