Cary, NCFabulous stay!
Left on 05/13/2013 for a stay in April 2013
We were on a girls trip to Sonoma/Napa and I found The Sonoma Farmhouse Town. It was the perfect location and absolutely beautiful property! The house and guest cottage are so precious. We comfortably slept 5 women and could have added at least one more in the back room on the sofa bed. We enjoyed late afternoons on the patio with wine we had purchased from the days visit. We could walk to anywhere we wanted to eat after a day of visiting wineries. We will be back!!! Thanks so much Bob!

We are two couples who rented Bob's Sonoma Farmhouse over Labor Day weekend. It was perfect for a party of four. The location, just a few blocks from the square, was great. We walked to the Whole Foods just minutes away for those things that we needed but of course being in Sonoma means enjoying the wonderful food in the area restaurants. We did spend our last evening having dinner on the deck in the back of the house amidst one of the most beautiful gardens I have ever seen. We all enjoyed the hot tub, Bob's hospitality, the location and the very comfortable Farmhouse. We look forward to visiting again.

We have rented this house for two consecutive years and will likely do it again in 2013. The house is great, the yard is beautiful, the location is the best - a short walk to town and shopping. There is a website that describes the place and a video, I looked at both but still my expectations were exceeded by a wide margin. It is a great place.

McDonald, OhioMy family had a wonderful experience staying in Sonoma Farmhouse
Left on 09/26/2012 for a stay in July 2012
It's not often that you have the perfect combination of location, ambience, accomodations and affordability, but my family (while attending my son's wedding at Viansa Winery) experienced exactly what we had dreamed of! My wife and I, along with my 4 adult children, will always remember this 4-day stayin august, 2012. We were able to walk to the Square in 5 minutes, enjoy the day and evenings on the beautiful patio and perfectly landscaped grounds, and come "home" together to stay in our Sonoma Farmhouse. No hotel rooms for us! We were able to cook an occasional meal, open a bottle of wine (or two), enjoy the perfect weather, and sleep in a very well decorated home. When you consider that we would have needed to rent several hotel rooms, this was a less expensive alternative. My son and the groomsmen all dressed for the wedding at our home, and then we all went down the road to the Winery for a perfect wedding and reception. I cannot think of a better situation, and I will definitely stay at the Sonoma Farmhouse again in the naer future. Thanks to Bob of Sonoma Farmhouse for helping my family make a wonderful memory - a true dream come true!

Left on 12/15/2011 for a stay in November 2011
This is a gorgeous place, with a small vineyard just two blocks from the Sonoma Plaza. Beautifully decorated, the house blends country farmhouse charm with plenty of chic accents. We enjoyed having meals on the deck next to the vineyard and extensive gardens with fountains, trellises, and rose bushes. And--since we enjoy cooking--we appreciated that the kitchen is well equipped.

We spent four days in Sonoma for a family wedding. The Sonoma Farmhouse not only provided housing for me, my spouse and in-laws, it was also a gathering place for the friends and relatives that stayed in other accomodations in town. It is charming, comfortable, and the grounds are lovely. I enjoyed having my morning coffee in the garden. The Farmhouse is walking distance to the square, good restaurants and fun shopping. I can not wait to return for another visit.

From top to toe this is a gorgeous place to stay - a great base from which to see the historic sites of Sonoma, to enjoy the wonderful local vineyards, to visit those in the wider surrounds, or to simply escape, relax & catch-up in the haven of the garden.

Left on 09/08/2011 for a stay in August 2011
The Sonoma Farmhouse Town was perfect for my 4 friends and I (we rented the house and the extra cottage together for 4 nights). We saved a lot of money on food by buying our groceries and using the grill out back (which helped balance all of the wine we bought!) We also used the hot tub every night, which was a special treat after our days of wine tasting and cooking. An added plus was that the Sonoma Farmhouse was only a couple of blocks from the Plaza. This made it easy on our DD, since we were able to walk home from visiting wineries surrounding the Plaza.
I'll definitely be coming back to Sonoma again, and when I do, I hope the Sonoma Farmhouse will still be available! -

Four of us stayed here for three nights. We had a wedding at a vineyard and lots of fun activities. The location was perfect for us. We loved the front porch, the location so close to the plaza, the ease of finding our way around, the lovely grounds. An extra bonus was the church across the street. We would stay there again.

Just recently stayed in the Sonoma Farmless with 3 couples, we loved it! We spent a lot of time on the back patio. We also rented the cottage in the back. The backyard is gorgeous! Even prettier than in the pictures. We absolutely loved it. Everything was great. One note: The cottage got a bit hot during the day but cooled down at night.

We rented the farmhouse and the cottage for 4 days with my husband and 3 adult children. The grounds are amazing. There is a vineyard in the back yard. The owner left us a bottle of wine, made from the grapes in his vineyard.
The beds were so comfy. I had a great night's sleep. This place turned out to be more money than 2 hotel rooms and I was concerned that it wouldn't be worth the price, but was pleasantly surprised.
The location is perfect. The neighborhood is quiet. The place was spotless. I would consider renting the farmhouse again if we go back to Sonoma. We felt like we were in another world.Response from Robert McDonald - 06/24/2011

We just loved staying at the farmhouse in Sonoma. The backyard was a relaxing oasis after our days of tastings. The landscaping was just lovely and the little cottage meet all our needs, except for perhaps a second shower. This was the first time we had rented a house instead of a hotel or bed and breakfast room and we would definitely do it again.

Sonoma Farmhouse was the perfect way to experience the Sonoma wine country! Convenient location, homey atmosphere, and privacy made this our most relaxing vacation ever. It was a pleasant change of pace to be able to enjoy morning coffee in my pj's on the deck and wine and cheese in the afternoon after a lovely day of touring. Bob and Wayne even stopped by on our first day to make sure we were comfortable and gave us some great tips on wining and dining in the area. I also appreciated that even though there is another cottage on site, it is not rented to anyone else during your stay. Great job on the landscaping too! I'm sure it would be even more beautiful in the summer.
If you are looking for an upscale place to stay with upscale amenities this might not be for you. But, if like us, you are looking for all the comforts of home then this is it!!! -

We stayed here for a friends wedding and had an absolutely wonderful experience. The location was perfect for wine tasting and visiting the plaza, though we would have been just as happy to spend our entire visit at the house. The back patio provided a wonderful place for leisurely brunches and sunset wine tastings, and we took full advantage of the hot tub as well. The inside of the house was as cozy as you could hope for, though certainly spacious enough for our crew. Bob was very accommodating and professional, and the logistics were seamless. The second we walked in, we started planning for a return visit!

We were invited to my nephew's wedding and we wanted to stay somewhere that was a little more personal than a large resort. I searched on line for places to stay and I was so thrilled when I found this place. The owner, Bob, was very accomodating to our family's needs. The location couldn't have been better as we were close to everything. The home is very well kept and it is very beautifully decorated. We spent so much time out on the back deck enjoying the view of the vineyard and just soaking in the Sonoma sun. I have raved about this place to many friends and family. We would definitely stay here again.

The Sonoma Farmhouse Town and Cottage did not disappoint. The house and cottage accommodations were charming and inviting. The backyard was by far our favorite – second to none! We loved the lush green landscaping, private vineyard, courtyard & hot tub. It was the perfect place for our group to relax and enjoy after our long run and wine tasting excursions. Although it was close to town it felt like it was out in the country and very private.
Thank you for sharing your very special place!

We looked at a number of Sonoma vacation rentals before deciding on the Sonoma Farmhouse. I was a little nervous about how it would “really” look -- but it’s even nicer and more charming than the website photos.
The house is nicely decorated. The bathrooms were clean and had everything we needed. And the gardens! So delightful sitting on the deck overlooking the grape vines and flowers. The property is wonderfully landscaped.
Bob (the owner) was very helpful before and during our stay. Suggesting restaurants to try and wineries we would like. He really knows the wine country. We especially liked his suggestion for the Farmers Market in the Plaza on Tuesday night (fresh organic produce, food, wine, and music)!
So many activities, shops, and restaurants on Sonoma Plaza are right within walking distance. And on evenings that we just wanted to relax, the deck and backyard gardens were perfect for reading and BBQ’ng. Our stay was delightful.
The home is perfect for families or romantic get-aways. We will definitely be back!

The property has been lovingly restored by Bob. Great care has been taken towards authenticity and attention to detail. The decor and touches are beautiful and could easily be featured in Architectural Digest. The property is an easy walk into Sonoma's heritage square (if you ever decide to leave such a pretty house!!). The home is suitable for families or romantic get-aways. The outdoor space and gardens are the hidden gem. You can sit on the massive deck amidst the perfume of lemon trees while you BBQ, read or host friends. Bob is a wonderful host and welcomes all guests with his hospitality and knowledge of the local history.

Our stay at Sonoma Farmhouse was amazing. Perfect for a weekend getaway, walking distance to downtown, great walking/running trails just a block a way, and most importantly the cottage atmosphere was wonderful. The serene surrounding made for one of the best nights sleep we’ve had in a while. The bed was amazingly comfortable and the private spa over looking the vineyard made for the perfect evening.
