We couldn't have enjoyed our stay here any more. This cottage is magical and a perfect place for a couples getaway! The pictures and descriptions on the internet do not do the Red Viking Cottage justice. It is so much more charming and the gardens more lovely than pictured. We loved our stay! The beds and living areas were so comfortable, and the kitchen had everything we needed. The bottle of wine that greeted us was a nice touch. We can't wait to return.

The Red Viking Cottage was the perfect location and escape to stay in Sonoma. We were even welcomed with a great bottle of wine to start our weekend! The house is clean and comfortable and had all the items you would need for a weekend get-away. The house even had a charming garden and patio area equipped with a BBQ grill. The owner was especially helpful with recommendations for local wineries and eateries in the town square. We will rent this house again!

Upon arriving we had a strange sense of déjà vu. The place was so warm and charming that it felt like we had been here before!
Great place to use as home base for exploring wine country - perfect for a small family or two couples. The landscaping is great and makes you feel you are in your own little sanctuary. Lots of wildlife to watch.
Nice touches like a welcoming bottle of wine make your stay feel special. The owner provides lots of info about things to do in the area. -

Thanks so much for creating such a special "home away from home” for us all! This place is definitely special and so comfortable. Such a perfect location for a fun girls weekend away. The first time for all of us in the Sonoma Valley. We loved it! Thanks for the use of your garden as well. We made some very tasty bruchetta from the abundance of tomatoes!

We stayed there the first time with family, and loved it so much we went back for a week's vacation without kids. The location is great and close to town, restaurants and wineries. The cottage is clean and a perfect size for our family or just for a couple. The surrounding lawn and landscape is lush and the patio areas are inviting. We liked that we felt like we were in the country side but still very close to town. We went to the Farmers Market one night and came back to the cottage to BBQ and eat on the patio under the stars. We also ate the garden-fresh tomatoes and basil right out of the seasonal garden. We had a wonderful stay and can't wait to stay again.

What a luxury place to stay in the little town of Sonoma. Mia has thought of everything. When you stay she has a wonderful binder with suggestions of place to eat, wineries and places to visit. If you want to have a BBQ she has one for you to use. Can you believe she even has a washer and dryer. This is the place to stay when you are visiting. What a gem in the country.

I celebrated my (and my friend's) birthday at this delightful cottage. It was a girls' trip with four of us staying there. We wine tasted, made mojitos with fresh mint from the Farmer's Market, barbecued on the patio and enjoyed shopping and fine dining in the village. The cottage was a wonderful, quiet escape from my generally hectic life.

My husband and I spent 4 nights in Sonoma att he Red Viking Cottage. Our stay could not have been better and we hope to plan another trip to stay there with another couple. The cottage is very charming and it was nice to have some of the comforts of home while on vacation. We had fresh eggs (promptly delivered upon calling) and were able to cook an awesome breakfast. Enjoying cheese and wine on the porch and laying in the cool green grass were some of our favorite vacation activities. The location is very convenient to Downtown sonoma. We were close enough that biking aroudn town was a great option.

British Virgin IslandsRed Viking was the Perfect Vacation Rental
Left on 10/04/2010 for a stay in August 2010
My husband and I travel to Sonoma every year and this summer we stayed in Red Viking Cottage for 3 weeks. We had various friends stay with us during the stay and everyone fell in love with this adorable rental.
The house was extremely comfortable (still miss the soft plush bed) in a quiet private location.
The square is a 3 minute drive but not an easy walk to the square which would be the only slight downside to the rental. But I also have to point out that the rental rate is a great value which I think reflects the location. For a vacation rental of this quality right near the square we would be paying almost three times as much!
The cottage had a fantastic open floor plan so it was easy to entertain. It also had the most amazing outdoor garden and barbecue area. We opted to eat in many nights as we enjoyed the atmosphere immensely.
Mia was a fantastic hostess and went above and beyond. I would recommend this cottage to absolutely everyone (and in fact have emaile friends who also visit Sonoma regularly) and hope to return myself soon! -

What an absolutely beautiful cottage - we felt right at home when we walked in - especially with the porch lights on and the treats you left for us - thank you! We love the Swedish theme and your personal touches through out your cottage. This was our first visit to Sonoma and hopefully we'll return. When we do, we'll certainly contact you. What a lucky find for us on the internet. And, such a great location! Thank you again- this was a trip we'll long remember. If only we could have stayed longer.

San Francisco, CAA wonderful spot in eastside Sonoma.
Left on 09/11/2010 for a stay in June 2010
We stayed a week at the Viking Cottage and couldn't have been happier. The grounds were stunning and the plaza was an easy bike ride away. The swedish-inspired house itself has been beautifully built and is very clean. Even though the cottage is very close to downtown, we felt miles away with the surrounding open space. The cottage has a wonderful front porch which we spent many hours enjoying. Thanks for the memories! We will certainly be back.
