      A tranquil idyl

Left on 07/09/2012 for a stay in July 2012

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Villino Delle arance, and would recommend it to anyone looking to stay there.

As described in the other reviews, the villa is situated in the back garden of a larger villa/ apartment building. It is a beautiful setting with lovely fruit trees and surrounding garden. The pool is very private, and the renter has sole use of this. The villa itself is not luxurious, but is very comfortable and tidily presented.

The villa has a good sized living area with one couch that is also convertable to a double bed. It has a flat screen TV with satellite channels...we found 5 or 6 in English, mostly news channels and one movie one. It has a small stereo/CD player system and a DVD player. The kitchen is probably best described as a kitchenette. It has a gas cooktop, and microwave which is also a convection cooker. It doesn't have a proper oven, so isn't suitable for cooking large meals. It has a small fridge with little freezer compartment - no proper freezer. There is airconditioning in the bedroom and living room which is great for very hot days. The bathroom has a washing machine, and shower, but no bath. The bed was firm, but actually very comfortable, and I didn't have a sore back which you often get with softer mattresses. We have a baby and so the owner provided a cot, which was great.

The location is about 15-20mins walk outside of Sorrento on the main road. It's closer to S'Agneto than Sorrento. The walk into Sorrento isn't too far, but isn't that pleasant because although it isn't a wide road, it is very busy, and the footpaths are very narrow in places. We found it a bit difficult with a pram...but not impossible. The closest small shop selling food is about 10 mins walk away, and the nearest supermarket in walking distance is in Sorrento anbout 15-20mins walk away. It is best to have a car if you're staying here. The parking for your car is not on-site, but 100-200m up the road in a local parking garage...it's secure and fine. The train line runs just 100m away, but surprisingly although you could hear it when you are outside it definitely wasn't noisy. As the villa has double-glazing, you can't hear any outside noise once you are inside.

The outdoor area for the villa is great. It has outdoor table and chairs and loungers by the pool. The pool isn't terribly big, but totally adequate to really enjoy a refreshing swim.

We really enjoyed staying here - it's a very comfortable place and so private and well cared for. It's a little quiet haven in amongst quite a busy area. The owner is also very accommodating, and a really lovely lady.

Villino delle Arrance Exceeded all Expectations

Left on 09/03/2009 for a stay in June 2009

If you are looking for wonderful customer service, an inviting and warm atmosphere, then my family recommends you stay at Villino delle Arance. Although on a busy street, it is conveniently located for a variety of excursions around the region. We did rent a car for an Amalifi Coast Trip and the owner was very accomodating in helping us to keep our rental car on the property site. The master bed was a little hard, but not unbearable. However, the Villa is wonderful, modern and very clean. The pool and grounds were spectacular and offered a wonderful retreat from a long day of sight seeing.

the most wonderful house we have ever rentes

Left on 06/25/2009 for a stay in July 2007

we spent a lovely time at Villino delle Arance. Our 2 boys liked the pool- we liked the beautiful garden with the lemon trees. I think, it?s one of the best places of Sorrento.
You need no car- the owner picked us up at the train station.
You can go by train to Pompeji, to Vesuv, ..
and you can go by boat to Capri and Amalfi coast.
Serafina and Francesco are the friendliest owners we have ever seen.

      A perfect little world!

Left on 06/22/2009 for a stay in August 2008

Villino delle Arance is a little gem of a villa. my partner and I had a wonderful two weeks there and would recommend it to anybody.

The villa itself is modern and well constructed. There was plenty of space for the two of us and it was very well equipped.

The real joy though was the outdoor area. The garden is beautifully set out and was full of flowers when we visited. The pool was great to use during the hot weather and was bigger somehow than we had expected!

We were within walking distance of shops and restaurants and although the villa was quite near to a road there was very little noise and none at all inside the villa.

The owners were kind and helpful, there when we needed them but never intrusive. Summerinitaly were a great company to use - we're renting again with them in 2009!

Peaceful corner just off busy thoroughfare

Left on 06/18/2009 for a stay in May 2008

The Villa suited my husband and I as it was clean, had all the appliances we required and was comfortable. When we didn't go out to one of the local restaurants for an evening meal we enjoyed relaxing in the beatiful garden of orange and lemon trees and in the small swimming pool. We were hardly aware that there was a busy road outside the gates which led directly into the centre of Sorrento. However, there were quieter routes to walk to the centre (20/25 minutes) and the house was located about 10 minutes walk from the railway station. Apart from having nightly disturbing dreams while there, for whatever reason, I have no hesitation in recommending The Villa Arance.
