Villa Gioiosa is an elegant and welcoming three-story villa located in an isolated position, on the slopes of a hill which is covered with olive groves. It sleeps six people. From Villa Gioiosa you will enjoy a charming view over the bay of Naples and Mount Vesuvius and of the sea. Villa Gioiosa is 300 square meters (3230 square feet). It features a private swimming pool, two gorgeous private terraces with a view of the sea, a private patio, a private garden, air conditioning (please read description below to check in which rooms the units are installed), winter heating and WI-FI Internet access.
You will be roughly 2 km (1.2 miles) fro...m Sorrento , roughly 300 meters (330 yards) from restaurants, shops and the stop for the SITA bus Amalfi -Sorrento line. You will find the closest beach at 2 km (roughly 1.25 miles). You will reach Villa Gioiosa from the parking area going down a short walkway that cuts through the garden and includes approximately eight stairway steps.
You will not need a car to stay at Villa Gioiosa. If you do have one, you will be able to park it on the premises, free of charge inside the entrance gate.
Villa Gioiosa is tended by a caretaker, who resides in an apartment with separate entrance on the bottom floor.
When you are at Villa Gioiosa, in its garden and on its terraces, you will find yourself in front of a fascinating panorama above the sea: right below you is the picturesque promontory of the cape of Sorrento, which seems to plunge into the blue of the sea with its verdant color due to the cultivation of olive and lemon trees. The green is interrupted here and there by white dots which are the result of the reflection of the sun on the walls of some country houses. Blue in the horizon is the arch of the Gulf of Naples and the islands of Ischia and Procida .
By looking around, you will see a splendid and very well-cared for garden rich in flowers: the air is clean and plant-scented, and the peacefulness is just perfect: you will feel glad for having chosen Villa Gioiosa as your vacation home!
The garden lies before the sun and the scenery. The garden is fenced-in, really well-cared for, lush and abundant in flowers and trees, with hydrangeas, roses, geraniums, olives….
In front of the entrance to the villa, you will find a spacious portico under which there is large table with chairs which is perfect for meals outdoors amidst the flowers and facing the sea. A large green lawn lies before the ground floor of the villa: on the lawn you will find a large umbrella and several deck chairs facing the sea scenery.
An area of the garden placed next to the kitchen features a barbecue and a wood-fired oven ideal for pizzas. If you wish, under the guide of a true pizza chef from Sorrento, you will have fun preparing your own pizzas!
A small stone stairway of about twenty steps framed by lush bushes of hydrangeas will lead you to the lower level of the garden, which is also like a large terrace overlooking the sea and the sun. You will find a beautiful swimming-pool with a sinuous shape surrounded by a sun-drenched area. Near the swimming pool there is a gazebo shaded by a white awning. The swimming pool area is furnished with a small bar and a bathroom with shower.
At Villa Gioiosa you will have a daily (except for Sunday) cleaning service and linen change.
In addition, a kind lady responsible for the house will be willing to assist you everyday with all her discretion to make sure your stay at Villa Gioiosa is perfect. She will give tips to any excursion you may feel like taking or even assist at organizing upon-request dinners in the villa with meals, music, or fun use of the wood-fired oven to make pizzas. She is definitely a friendly and precious person in the house; a person truly appreciated and cherished by all the guests of the villa for far!
If you are fond of good Italian wine, at Villa Gioiosa, you will also find a cellar with selected wines plus a guide and a list of prices to help you pick one.
You will have all the tourist places and activities Sorrento has to offer near at hand. You will also be only one km (about 0.6) away from the rocky beach of the Cape of Sorrento, a protected area of great beauty famous for being a place where the Sea Baths of the Queen Giovanna used to take place. Only two km (about 1.2 miles) away you will find the sandy beach of Marina di Puolo , an enchanting fishermen’s village.
On the Coast of Sorrento and Amalfi, the beaches are small inlets surrounded by a high-cliff coast. 9 km (about 5.6 miles) away, if you descend towards the coastal side of the Gulf of Salerno , you will find the large beach of fine gravel of Marina del Cantone . You will find outdoor bars and restaurants and also means for practicing all sorts of water sports. By descending towards the side of the Gulf of Naples, at about 2 km away, you will arrive at a picturesque beach set in the small bay of Marina del Cantone. Here you will also find beach establishments, outdoor bars, and restaurants by the sea.
Easily reached are also the beaches of Positano and Sorrento.
The Peninsula of Sorrento is heaven on earth for all trekking enthusiasts. On the stretch of coast right on the spot which separates the coast of Amalfi from the coast of Sorrento, there are trails of breathtaking beauty to be admired amidst the mountains and the sea.
In case you feel like giving trekking a try, you can join excursions and guided tours along many trails found in the area. The most famous trail of all, which unravels high above the coasts of Amalfi and Positano, is called “ Sentiero degli Dei ” ( Path of the Gods ) due to its extraordinary beauty.
In Marina del Cantone, Sorrento, Positano, and other small towns of the Amalfi Coast , there are centers which organize guided tours to seabeds rich in grottoes and amazing vegetable and animal life along the coast.
You will reach the swimming pool from the garden going down an external stairway which consists of approximately 20 steps. The pool is 5 meters (16 feet) large by 13 meters (42 feet) long, from 1.20 meter (4 feet) to 1.8 meters (6 feet) deep. The swimming pool has a sinuous shape. It has a whirlpool corner. The swimming pool area is equipped with a table, chairs, sun umbrellas, deck chairs and sun loungers. By the pool you will also find a bathroom which is equipped with a washbasin, a toilet and a shower. It is partly shaded by an elegant gazebo. From the swimming pool you will enjoy a splendid view of the sea. The pool is open all year round.
The first terrace is 8 square meters (86 square feet) large. You will be able to enter it from the living room. The terrace is equipped with wood benches. From the terrace you will enjoy a fascinating view of the sea and of the hills of Sorrento.
You will be able to enter the patio from the living room. It is shaded by an elegant porch. It is equipped with a table and chairs. From the patio you will enjoy a splendid view of the sea and of the hills of Sorrento.
The garden is 1000 square meters (10800 square feet) large. It is shaded by olive trees and by elegant gazebos. It is equipped with tables, chairs, sun umbrellas, deck chairs and sun loungers. Here you will also find a barbecue and a wood-fired pizza oven. From the garden you will enjoy a fascinating view of the sea.
The furnishings of the living room are classic and welcoming, and include some antique pieces. The furnishings include two sofas and an armchair. There is a fireplace. In this room you will find a satellite television and a personal computer with broadband Internet connection. From the living room you will be able to enter the first terrace with a view of the sea through two French doors. The room is equipped with an air conditioning/heating unit.
You will be able to enter the dining room from the living room. The furnishings are elegant and refined, and include some antique pieces. The dining table can accommodate six guests. From the dining room you will be able to enter the first terrace with a view of the sea through a French door. The room is equipped with an air conditioning/heating.
You will be able to enter the kitchen from the living room. It is spacious and comfortable, equipped with a four-burner gas cooker, a gas oven, a large refrigerator with freezer, a dishwasher, a microwave oven, an Italian-style coffee-maker, an American-style coffee-maker (bring your filters!), a toaster and other small appliances. Here you will also find a washing machine. From the kitchen a French door will take you to the garden with a view of the sea.
The second terrace is 20 square meters (215 square feet) large. You will be able to enter it from the bedrooms. It is partly shaded by a pergola. The terrace is equipped with long masonry benches, as well as with a table and chairs. From the terrace you will enjoy a wonderful view over the bay of Naples and of the hills of Sorrento.
You will be able to enter the first bedroom from the corridor. The furnishings are elegant, and include some antique pieces. The room has a matrimonial bed (160 cm/62 inches, wider than a queen-size bed). From the bedroom you will be able to enter the second terrace with a view of the sea through a French door. The bedroom is equipped with an air conditioning/heating unit. This bedroom has an en-suite bathroom, tiled with lucid handmade majolica tiles and equipped with a washbasin, a toilet, a Jacuzzi bathtub and a hairdryer.
You will be able to enter the second bedroom from the corridor. The furnishings are elegant and refined, and include some antique pieces. The room has a matrimonial bed (160 cm/62 inches, wider than a queen-size bed). From the bedroom you will be able to enter the second terrace with a view of the sea through a French door. The bedroom is equipped with an air conditioning/heating unit. This bedroom has an en-suite bathroom, tiled with lucid handmade majolica tiles and equipped with a washbasin, a toilet, a shower and a hairdryer.
You will be able to enter the third bedroom from the corridor. The furnishings are elegant, and include some antique pieces. It has two French beds (120 cm/47 inches). From the bedroom you will be able to enter the second terrace with a view of the sea through a French door. The bedroom is equipped with an air conditioning/heating unit.
The bathroom is equipped with a washbasin, a toilet, a shower and a hairdryer. You will be able to enter the bathroom from the corridor.

Villa Gioisia was everything we expected and more. The seniora Theresa who is the caretaker was always on hands
to help us, guide us and provide for our every need. She is quite an asset to this vacation destination. The villa was extraordinary in that what you see on your vacation site is what you get. That is a lot to say for evaluating the property.
The villa is impeccable, spacious, with a panorama of sunsets to remember for years to come. We enjoyed cooking our meals and eating outside facing the Bay of Naples every evening. (or almost) The road to get to the villa is a bit tricky, but once you made it to the villa, you realize that the saying does apply, when in Rome do as the Romans do just changing it to the surrounding areas as well.
I would highly recommend this villa for it's true value, the
impeccable site filled with flowers and herb gardens and a beautiful pool. We were a family of 6 adults and one child and everyone had room to roam and play so this was also an asset. I would highly recommend Villa Gioisia and hope to return one day. Mille gracie!
When my party & I pulled thru the gates of Villa Gioiosa we looked upon beautifully manicured gardens and a breathtaking view of the Bay of Naples. The Villa is beautiful and extremely well kept under the management of a beautiful lady called Teresa Saverase. Teresa is there to assist you and she does that very well. If you like to dine true Neopolitan style or just dine well, Teresa is the one to choose. The Villa has 2 beautiful dining areas, both inside and outside. One doesn't have to leave the Villa if all you want to do is relax.....leave it to Villa Gioiosa
