The most amazing experience of our lives!

Left on 04/22/2013 for a stay in April 2013

We just returned home from Sorrento, Italy on Saturday, April 20, 2013. We have stayed in many 4 and 5 star resorts around the world and have specific expectations regarding service. The experience that our family had at Villa Miragalli exceeded all of our expectations - ever! The service began while we were early in the planning stages with the Villa owner, Bruno acampora, and continued after we returned home. The beauty of the property is overwhelming. Pristine inside and out. We had all of the comforts of home - on steroids! Bruno is one of the most responsive people we have ever met. He thought of everything before we could, always going well above and beyond the scope of expectation. We wanted for nothing and felt like we got everything. We fell in love with the amalfi Coast, Sorrento, Villa Miragalli, Bruno and his amazing driver Franco. We are so excited to return in September. Even with the greatest travel experience, we have never booked a return trip on the spot within such a short timeframe in between. We are trying to figure out how we will continue to see the world, when all we can think about is the all encompassing beauty of the villa and it's surroundings, and the wonderful new friends we made in Sorrento.

Villa Miragalli is nothing short of spectacular; more beautiful in person than the beauty that you see online. You have to see it to believe it!

A great family vacation in a beautiful villa with an amazing vie

Left on 04/22/2013 for a stay in April 2013

This beautiful and comfortable villa has a magnificent view on the Galli islands, the Mediteranian and the hills above Sorrento.
The owner is welcoming, friendly, and quick to answer any question or problem.
We stayed for a week with our three grown children and their partners, and our 2 year old granddaughter. We were very comfortable, although the two couples who stayed on the ground floor had to share a bathroom. We are all family, so it worked, but can be a problem for some. The kitchen is large and very well equiped. We enjoyed preparing our meals there.
The weather was less than ideal, and we didn't get to use the pool and the garden very much. Rather frustrating, since the grounds are amazing.
Take into account that the house is located in a small village up in the hills. This can mean that you wake up in the middle of a cloud even though down at the beach it is completely sunny...
      We had a great time!!!

Left on 07/11/2012 for a stay in June 2012

The owner was extremely helpful and the house, grounds and amenities were outstanding. The villa was secluded and peaceful yet close enough to many facilities i.e. shop, restaurant/bar and easy access to major towns and tourist venues. After waking up each day to wonderful weather and glorious views it made leaving at the end of the stay very, very difficult.

      Our stay at Villa Miragalli...

Left on 06/24/2012 for a stay in June 2012

We are back from our vacations in Italy. Our first week was at Villa Miragalli where Bruno had made our stay an excellent one: not only is the Villa magnificent but the level of services is unsurpassed. Bruno's directions to local bakery and all that Colli di Fontanelle has to offer were great. We blended in the little village and had much fun trying to communicate. We made the tour on his boat and had an excellent day touring Capri and spending our lunch at Da alfonso...

One great added value is getting to know the owner who offers, with pleasure, an unlimited help and support.

Great family base to explore Campania and the amalfi Coast

Left on 03/26/2012 for a stay in March 2012

We stayed here 8 nights during March at a time when the weather was unseasonably sunny and warm, and coming from Vancouver, this was a paradise we didn't want to leave. The house was clean, the furnishings were tasteful, there was a great deal of attention to detail in terms of design and maintenance - definitely one of the top rentals we have used. The washer and barbecue turned out to be very useful and the kids loved the hot tub. There are numerous walks and hikes with marvellous views in the region (Punta della Campanella is worthwhile), a 2 star Michelin (Don alfonso) in a neighbouring village, an extremely well stocked grocer 5 minutes walk away with a pretty good (and relatively cheap) restaurant, Stellucia, across the street. Nonetheless, you should really rent a car as everything else will require a drive and the bus, while it stops in front of the villa, is not particularly convenient. With a car you can drive the amalfi to Positano, Ravello and beyond. Make daily shopping excursions to Sorrento. Park your car at the marina and take a ferry to Capri. Visit Pompeii, Erculano and Vesuvio. Really, we should have stayed two weeks. The owner/manager speaks great English, was attentive, visiting nearly every day to make sure everything was fine, and fair. We would certainly consider returning.

      The 'Perfect' stay...

Left on 10/05/2011 for a stay in September 2011

We knew we had found something special when we found this villa, the perfect host for my dads 70th birthday, surprise holiday! Pompeii was the original plan for visiting this amazing area so the villa was an added bonus. Having seen the photos of the villa, we decided to do a surprise Roman Toga Party to make the most of the villa for Dad's birthday. With the most breathtaking views, the backdrop was set, and the Villa was the perfect place to relax together in luxury, with great surroundings, and to top it off the local restaurant 'Stelluccia' supplied us with a fabulous Roman Banquet of fresh Italian food, Louisa even wearing her own Toga, and Mama making Dad fresh birthday cake!

If we needed any advice, Bruno was always at the end of the phone or on email and went out of his way to ensure that our stay was the best it could be, he gave us info on times of local buses, ferry's to Capri, places to eat, to trips to go on and generally a great personality to greet us as we arrived at the villa.

The rooms were all huge, with high ceilings and great furnishings and the Villa really is home from home, with that extra luxury of having a jacuzzi to soothe aching muscles after a day out at Pompeii or wherever you choose to visit, there are many places to choose from.
One day we drove down the coast to amalfi, parked up in the harbour and took a local rib speed boat back to Positano where we stopped for lunch on the beachfront and took the boat back to amalfi, taking in all the outstanding views of the villas and restaurants built into the cliffs.

I am only sad that I am now writing this review as it seems like yesterday I was reading the other reviews in excitement about visiting Villa Miragalli. We really didn't want to leave, the villa is truly the 'Perfect' place to stay with the 'Perfect' host.

      Amazing Villa with Breathtaking Views

Left on 10/15/2010 for a stay in October 2010

My wife, parents, sister, niece and I all stayed at the Miragalli for a week in early October. The villa itself was fantastic! It had plenty of indoor and outdoor space for "togetherness" as well as individual privacy when those of us wanted some time alone. We were often torn between decisions to hit the tourist hotspots along the coast or just stay and enjoy the villa!

The views of the sea, coast and Li Galli islands were incredibly beautiful! The small town of Colli di Fontinelle was a very quiet, relaxing place to return after a day of sightseeing. The nearby Stelluccia restaurant provided fantastic food for dine-in and delivery to the villa.

Bruno was a perfect host. He was always available to help with any questions we had or services needed. He even arranged someone to cook for us in the villa -- a real treat!

Our visit to the Villa Miragalli will always remain in our minds one of the very best vacations ever taken!

      "A relaxing retreat!"

Left on 09/24/2010 for a stay in August 2010

After 4 months of chemotherapy what my family and I really really needed was a rest. A "proper" holiday in spacious, comfortable, clean accomodation in a beautiful location. We got all this and more at Villa Miragalli. It was like a home from home only better! Even before we arrived Bruno was offering his help. The view just takes your breath away- every day we were there I took photos of it because you don't tire of it! We had visited the area a few years previously so had already been to Capri, Pompei, Ravello, Sorrento town - all of which are well worth a visit. We ended up spending most of our time at the villa because it had almost everything we needed- stunning view, pool, table tennis, hot tub, sun beds, comfotable places to curl up with a book, shady terrace for lunch, a.c. indoors. After an initial Big Shop in Sorrento we could get topped up with lovely fresh bread, cheese, meat, veg etc at the small supermarket in the village. The people there were so friendly and helpful! Had ridiculously cheap pizza and a wonderful latte in the restaurant and coffee shop opposite. We did manage to tear ourselves away and go to the beach a few times because it was nice to have a proper swim! - Marina del Cantone was nice; pebble beach, car parking 10 euros a day, sun beds/parasols to hire. Also Marina di Puolo (mix of private and free beach- sandy) and Cala di Puolo (smarter but only private - pebbles) , .When we said we were going to Positano for dinner Bruno recommended the Hotel Pupetto on Fornillo beach, which was great and quite reasonably priced for Positano! We parked the car at the bottom of the town (very steep car parking prices bet 4 and 6 euros an hour!) and walked on down through the town to the beach- which looked lovely (also sandy) and then on round the headland; a short but beautiful walk especially as the sun is going down.. Would I reccommend this property to anyone looking for a break from the hustle and bustle of the world? Most definitely!

Also a good local restaurant 'Stellucia' nearby, and a small supermarket, everything within 1km. We sincereally hope to return to the Sorrentin Penninsula, one of the most breathtaking places of Italy, and the world, with villatorent.it.

      An Unbelievable Setting

Left on 03/07/2010 for a stay in May 2008

Villa Miragalli simply has one of the most beautiful views you could ever hope for. Sitting perched on the side of a mountain with total privacy looking out over the sea, it just doesn't get any better. You truly feel like you have found a slice of heaven. The constantly changing weather, clouds and colors made for a great and relaxing week. Italy is a beautiful country and we saw a lot of it during a 2 week vacation, but nothing topped this villa. There is much to do and see on the Amalfi Coast, but you may be tempted to just spend a lot of time at the villa because it so relaxing and beautiful. The small village of Coli di Fontanelle is a nice change of pace from the more well known towns in the area and a great location to explore from.

Bruno (the owner) is a great host and a really nice person. He was always available if we needed advice or help, and definitely helped make our stay that much better. He knows the area so well, and was great at directing us in where to eatb and visit.

Since I'm wrting this review 2 years after our initial stay, I guess the best endorsement I can give is that we are returning to Italy this year for another 2 week vacation and one of thos weeks is once again being spent at Villa Miragalli. There was no reason for us and our friends to consider anywhere else to stay on the Amalfi Coast.

One can obviously see the enchanting view that awaits you at this beautiful villa by looking at the picutres, but you must experience it in person! I truly hope to return one day.

The villa is comfortably appointed with a flat screen tv and a stereo, as well as air conditioning and seems larger than expected. The grounds are secure, private and relaxing.

The villa's owner, Bruno, acts like your own personal fairy godfather while you are staying at Villa Miragalli and he is always ready to answer questions or come and check on you during a storm (as he did with us!) Bruno goes the distance for his guests and he is a true host.

If you must be "connected" for business reasons, the only complaint one would have is that (when we were there anyway) the cell phone and internet connectivity was either non-existent or very sporadic. Howefver, the villa does have a land line for emergencies.

Go to Villa Miragalli, you will not be disappointed that you did.

The house is wonderful, spacious, airy, with every comfort and convenience and the garden stunning but of course the views render one speechless. We had a wonderful day hiring a boat, visiting Capri, some wonderful local fish restaurants and a number of lazy evenings in Positano not to mention fantastic pizzas (and lots of limoncello) in Sorrento.
And not forgetting the lovely Bruno, the host: delightful and very helpful not to mention patient!
This was the best family holiday we've experienced and I only wish we were able to return this year. Hopefully 2011....

This is a beautiful spot high above the coast. The Villa is nice but the view is
amazing. We loved the small town and peaceful setting. Bruno is very helpful
and pleasant. He went out of his way to help us change money and was always
      available.
