DoornGood villa except for the noise
Left on 09/05/2012 for a stay in July 2012
The villa is good enough but on top is an appartment which is too noisy. All floors are made out of stone and you even can hear people above sweaping the floor.
We were a bit disappointend about this and it affect my total opinion which is not totally fair. -

DohaWe were cold, and sometimes lost.
Left on 06/08/2012 for a stay in April 2012
While the property is nice and alex goes out of his way to explain every detail about the property for you, we were there in Early april and we felt the property definitely shouldn't be rented out in any cooler months, summer property only. there is no central heat, my kids were looking forward to using a pool that was too cold to use. We had to start a fire in the main room fire pit and it made the house smell very smokey. The property is not in Sorrento and it's quite remote. You will have a bit of a drive on windy roads if you want to visit Sorrento. I would recommend this house for July to September for people who want a remote location, good for larger groups. Needs better outdoor furniture. The driver and tour alex recommended for the amalfi coast was amazing, one of our favorite days during our 15 nights in Italy. Alex tries to please and is very accommodating, we just happened to choose a property which wasn't suitable for our dates, the season and our needs.

Left on 05/31/2012 for a stay in August 2011
We stayed at Villa Carlotta last summer for a week with our 14 and 10 year old children.
Firstly, the villa is located, in our opinion, along the most beautiful part of the coast line between Sorrento and Positano. Located less than 8 km from marina Del Cantone where the beach is friendly, offers plenty of restaurants and daily boat rentals, it is great if you have kids. The Campanella protected area is easily accessible by taking a trail from a small village on the way to the beach. The trail will take you to breath taking views, through vineyards and to a lagoon which miraculously is untouched. Go to the dock and jump in a pool of very big fishes ! It was a treat for our boy. Follow the locals down the trail who access the beach from the vineyard side otherwise the official trail involves very steep staircases. Renting a daily boat at the marina is also a good way to visit mermaid island and positano.
On your way back from the beach i recommend you stop at the fishery, the pastry and the deli shops in Corta to stock up for your dinner. The villa is equipped with mostly everything you need. It was nice to eat outside on the wonderful terrace admiring the breathtaking view and at night from the master bedroom, you could admire boats off the campanella.
I recommend a car to get around, plenty of parking at the villa. The rooms are spacious and clean, so was the pool, a must in a summer to end your day on a good note. The kids loved it and it was very clean.
Alex was helpful in answering all our questions and our entire family had a great time !
We would strongly recommend this Villa,
