    Additional Location Information

Domaine de Sengresse is situated just 500 yards from the River Adour in the heart of the Landes countryside. An area known for its gastronomy, forests, rivers and miles of sand dunes and surf.

Visit unspoilt villages with their little cafĂ©s, markets and evening farmers’ markets where you can sample local produce; absorb the atmosphere and watch traditional dancing.

Village fĂȘtes begin in May and continue through until the autumn. The fĂȘtes include: dancing, music, events for children, pĂ©tanque, fishing competitions, concerts and the famous Course Landaise in the local arena. In Mugron the town band leads children carrying lanterns through the streets on the opening night of the FĂȘte.

The area is famed for its Course Landaise. All villages and towns have their own arenas. This is not to be confused with bull fighting but is a dangerous sport for young men and, occasionally, women who perform amazing acrobatics around and over some very ferocious looking cows! Not to be missed!

Sengresse is 2kms from a Michelin Green route which trails from Mugron to Montaut and on to St Sever, where brass cockle shells demark the pilgrim route of Santiago de Compostela. Return via the chateaux at Amou and Gaujacq or the ancient bastide of Montfort en Chalosse. Dax is 35 minutes away - known for its hot springs and rugby.
