A perfect getaway for the two of us. The place was very pleasant. The area beautiful. Will be returning.
The only thing that could be improved is the couch is not too comfortable for two people to sit on, but we didnt do a whole lot of sitting anyway. -

32212Great Cabin for the price
Left on 06/16/2012 for a stay in June 2012
My family and I (4 adults and 4 children) rented this cabin. We had a lot of fun here making lifelong memories! There is a large master bedroom and bathroom downstairs and a small bedroom and loft upstairs. In the bathroom is an amazing jacuzzi tub. There is also a small shower which when you turn on the water it is right in your face and there is nowhere to go so it feels a little claustrophobic in there. The wrap around deck was wonderful as was the almost new weber bbq grill on it. The deck really needs repair as it is very creaky and some boards felt as if they were going to fall through. Some nails need to be hammered in also. There also really needs to be better lighting in the back of the unit near the stairs. I was taking my dog out to go pee in the middle of the night and almost broke my neck because I missed a step because of the poor lighting. But as I said for the price this cabin cannot be beat! I was also hoping that the trails in the back were accessible to take nature hikes but behind the property is a sharp hill that goes down so it is not safe to walk on. Being that this is lake tahoe that was not a big deal since nature is all over so it was a short drive to get our nature walk fix! The kitchen was great but a lot of the dishes were cracked...again no big deal for how nice everything else was!!! I would definitely rent this unit again and would refer friends to it! The price cannot be beat and either can the close location to everything! Oh and a big a+ for allowing dogs so that my fur child could come along!!! :)

Reno Fam
Reno, NevadaGreat Budget Rental - Good for kids
Left on 01/11/2012 for a stay in January 2012
Spent 4 days here with my wife and children (5 and 7 years old); we also had a second family of 4 up for 2 of the days; ample space and sleeping arrangements were ideal for 8. The single bathroom didn't seem problematic and the shower was great, as was the tub. The fireplace is a definite "selling point" for this rental and made it cozy to be sure. The property backs up to forest land and is connected to nature trails that lead out to bike trails toward Meyers, Ca.
A few complaints... The bedding is not very desirable and the pillows were flat, so come prepared here; some of the DVD players and such didn't work and the television channels were quite limited. Also, this rental could use a deep cleaning and elimination of cobwebs!
The bottom line is, however, that this rental is more for those who don't demand as much "luxury" and find escape through simple relaxation and outdoor activities, as opposed to being pampered away from home. As mom says, a little dirt never hurt anyone! -

Left on 06/22/2011 for a stay in June 2011
This is cabin is roomy and fun. Nothing is fancy, but all functional. (Except the jets on the tub, they didn't work.) There is only one bathroom and the shower is quite small, but it all worked out and we had 7 people there. The deck furniture was a little disappointing, kind of rusty and old. Having a fire in the round fireplace was a snap and really warmed the cabin right up. The neighborhood is quiet and a good place to take a walk. It was very easy to get into town with all the needed stores. If you like a good cabin, this is for you!

My family and I had a wonderful time at this cabin. There is a great hill for sledding behind this house. Kids had a blast and the adults enjoyed them selves by just relaxing after playing in the snow. We will definately stay here again but for a longer period of time. The weekend just wasn't long enough.

Kailuadisappointed with cleanliness and condition of home
Left on 01/06/2011 for a stay in December 2010
We arrived very late at night (we had told the rental company we would be arriving late) to find bedding on the floor, a sticky kitchen table, and a dirty bathroom - the house had obviously not been cleaned. After sleeping on dirty sheets, we called the company the next day and asked them to clean the house. We also asked them to shovel the front steps and deck as it had snowed overnight and the footing to the front door was dangerous. The place was cleaned but only the front steps were cleared, leaving snow on the front deck making getting to the front door difficult. It snowed again during our stay and the driveway and steps were cleared, but, again, no clear path to the front door. We couldn't find a shovel to do it ourselves. We were disappointed in the fact that we had to sleep on dirty sheets and call the next day to get the house cleaned and no compensation was offered. I called after our stay to give this feedback and haven't heard a resolution.
The house itself was also disappointing. It's listed as either a 3 bedroom or 2 bedroom + loft in the advertisement, but really the second bedroom is just a cubicle in a loft - doesn't have a top or closet so it really doesn't qualify as a bedroom. It is a very big one bedroom and does sleep 8 people, but potential clients need to be aware that 6 of the 8 people are sleeping in an open area of the house. The kitchen table was wobbly, and some of the chairs were broken. The walls and carpeting of the place seemed rundown. The fireplace provided no heat and ended up just being in the way.
I know this is hard to control for, but it seemed every pot I pulled out of the cabinet had to be washed because there was food on it from previous tenants.
It was nice to have a washer, dryer, and small dishwasher. The quiet street was really appreciated. The shower and tub were nice.Response from CB - Mckinney & Associates - 01/19/2011

There was a scheduling problem with this home and it was not cleaned on arrival. The guests were refunded their cleaning fee in full and housekeeping was sent out to clean the home as soon as we heard of the problem. The owners pay for regular snow removal for the driveway and walkway to the front door. Snow removal of porches, decks and balconies are not normally done. The owner pays for a regular deep cleaning of the entire home every spring and fall. The carpets are professionally cleaned every spring and fall as well. The home has one bedroom downstairs and then a large loft which has partitions that offer additional separate sleeping areas.

I was surprised to find a cabin that sleeps 8 for the price we were given, when we split up the price it came down to alot less than staying at a hotel. and was actually closer than sierra at Tahoe ski resort too, maybe a 20 minute drive with good road conditions. fireplace made gave it a very cozy cabin-in-the-woods kind of feel.

Left on 01/19/2010 for a stay in December 2009
My kids and I visited just before Christmas 2009 and found the cabin neat, clean and well equipped. My only negative comment is with respect to the upstairs television which was not watchable due to bad color (perhaps the tube is worn out). The parking space, stairs and deck were plowed/shoveled for us when it snowed. The folks at CB-McKinney were helpful and pleasant to work with. We'd definitely go back.

The location was fine. Service was good. Carpet was dirty. When we walked in we were greeted with a filthy throw rug on the floor in front of the fire stove. We did not walk in our bare feet or socks in this unit. The table and kitchen counters were sticky. We had to wash down the counter tops before we could use them. Dried food on the cutting board, Cabinets not at all organized. Owners staples (food items), filled most of the cabinets except the one above the ref. We had to move a lot of stuff to make room for our kitchen items. Because the place was so dirty, there was really no consideration about using any of the supplies left by the owners. Air Tub kept turning on and we were uable to turn it off. Deck had not been cleaned in months. Verticle blinds falling off. Blinds in dining area damaged. Broken lamp shade. Prior tenants debris under sofas. Very hot in the loft. (we were there during a mini heat wave). Loft TV did not work. Downstairs TV did not get volume for several stations. (picture only. Master bedroom side table, lamp stuck to table from prior spill that was not cleaned up. Housekeeping obviously does no cleaning in this unit. The bathroom was okay except for the wood trim that goes around the bathroom. It was very dirty. Not dusted for months. Doors dirty. Need to have dirty hand prints wiped off. The sliding glass door would not lock. We put the fireplace poker in the tract when we left. We did not enjoy having to clean the kitchen before we could use it. This is the first time we have rented a house that allowed pets and I must say the conditions was not a result of the pets. On check out, I informed rental co. about condition. I would rent the home again if I could be assured the cleaning crew was doing what they were paid to do. Old is one thing, dirty was another. Home also better for a family, not two adult couples sharing one bathroom.

Our staff is on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to handle any and all guests complaints that might arise. We were not made aware of these issues until the guests departed. We have notified the owner of the home and he has had the home thoroughly deep cleaned to resolve these issues.

Comfortable, spacious older cabin located in a quiet neighborhood away from the hustle of town, but still close to everything. Two bedrooms downstairs, with another bedroom and a couple of twins upstairs in the large loft. The beds were very comfortable, as was the furniture in the living room. Windows everywhere. Private hot tub on the deck.
The tv in the loft did not work, but maybe that's been fixed by now. Only one bathroom, but it was newly updated. No A/C, but fans were supplied. Internet connection was a plus.
If you want a relaxing vacation and do not require anything fancy this might be the place for you. -
