An excellent family retreat!
This property is perfect for a large family. There were more than enough sleeping accomadations, linens, bathrooms, and seating so everyone was relaxed and not crowded. I was worried... about parking but the garage and driveway provided more than enough space, even for our extended cab truck. The house was immaculate and the hot tub was clean and worked great! Everything you need is provided, including floats for the beach!!

Sixteen of us stayed here and it was fantastic. We had 4 kids and 12 adults and we all loved the place. There was plenty of parking for all 6 cars. We couldn't believe how clean every single room was. The 3 bathrooms were a must and worked out great. They supplied plenty of towels for all 16 of us. We used the hot tub and barbequed fun and yum. We loved the granite kitchen counters, having the washer and dryer were a must and the fact that housekeeping would take care of the beds and clean after we left was fantastic. Checking in was a breeze. They are very organized and prepared. We just love love love this place and can't wait to do it again!

We had a great time here at this rental. I rented it for a bachelorette party and we had 16 people staying with us. The pictures were exactly like the rental, and it was cozy and had plenty of sleeping area for everyone to have their own bed and sleep comfortably. My bed was very uncomfortable and could feel the springs so I suggest bringing a mattress topper...that was my only complaint. The staff was friendly and was so incredibly easy to check in and check out. I couldn't believe how easy it was. There was no hidden fees or extra things for them to tell me when I came to check in. It was perfect! Would be great for families with small children as well because it was equipped with baby gates on stairs if needed. Very happy with my experience and will use this company again.
Needs a little TLC

My family was recently here for a reunion with 15 people. Although the house has ample room and parking for all, we encountered some issues that need to be addressed by the owner. The overall layout of the house is nice. It has been partially updated (granite countertops, appliances) but the dishwasher was dirty and not working. My sister called the property manager but was never fixed during our stay. We stayed 3 nights and ate all meals in so had to do all dishes by hand. For 15 people, it sure would have been nice to have a response to our request and a dishwasher in working order. The kitchen was not very well equipped and many of the lightbulbs were burned out.
The biggest problem with this house is the mold issue. We noticed a very large patch of mold under the kitchen window outside of the house. When you turn on the kitchen faucet, water leaks out the side of the house.
The owner needs to invests in some new mattresses. They were very uncomfortable and obviously very old.
The coffee table in the living room has two missing pieces of glass (out of 4). More than once, someone tried to set a plate or glass on it and fell through.
There were some screens missing off of windows (upstairs bathroom and one bedroom) making it impossible to open windows at night due to mosquitos.
Lastly, on our last night, we saw a mouse run across the kitchen floor.
The best part of this house was back patio and the hot tub. The patio was nice and hot tub quite large and ready to use (heated) when we arrived.
With some TLC and attention to the above issues, this could be a nice rental.
Nice with a few issues

We held our family reunion at this home, which is located in a quiet neighborhood away from the lake. There was plenty of parking for five cars and it is an easy drive to grocery stores and the beach. The home has been modernized with granite counter tops in the kitchen and stainless steel appliances. There's also a nice big-screen t.v. in the living room. Unfortunately the dishwasher was broken and was not fixed during our stay. With 15 family members it's always nice to have a running dishwasher. The owner also needs to invest in some new mattresses. My husband and I kept rolling into each other and really didn't sleep well the three nights we were there. Others complained of the same issue. The last issue related to another brother-in-law. Although the advertisement did not promise the property was wheel-chair accessible, my brother-in-law (who is a paraplegic) did talk with the property management company several times regarding access. Unfortunately, he was not able to use the bathroom and had to return home for the duration, which was sad. With some improvements I think this would be a great property for a future stay.

A very updated home. Ample beds, 15 in all.The large bedrooms down stairs were great for those members in our party that had physical limitations. 3 large bathrooms, nice updated kitchen and a great jaccuzi and gas bar bq in the fenced in back yard.Very quiet residental area..Nice place to take quiet walks...My only complaints was that the dish washer was not working and eventho we called to have it repaired we never saw a repairman..Maybe they just couldn't get there in the alloted time; aand that the dining area was a little tight Over all this is a great rental home.

We just loved our stay at this house. Plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms for our all ladies group. The house was very clean with lots of amenities. The hot tub was wonderful amongst the redwoods. We even had a chance to take a hike during the day which was just minutes from the house. We will definitely recommend this place to our friends and hopefully get another chance to stay here again in future!

We rented this house during a family reunion. It was more than capable of handling the number of family members that shred this house. It had everything we needed to make meals and keep us comfortable during our stay. McKinney & Associates were really easy to deal with and made the use of the house very easy and pleasant.
Just ok, considering the price

In the pictures the house looked bright and luminous - when in reality a good half of the light bulbs were out (and the switches were particularly hard to find!). The rooms looked outdated, one even had a hole in the wall; none of the hairdryers worked, nor did the shower head upstairs (!!!), resulting in a lot more traffic in the bathroom downstairs.
There is a code for the front door, so make sure to send it to everyone in your party in a text message, to allow them to come and go as pleased.
We appreciated that the hot tub was hot when we got there, no need to wait hours for it to reach a comfortable temperature. I was shocked at how much smaller the backyard was compared to what it looked like in pictures.
Bottom line is, those pictures are definitely the work of a pro but it would be nice if the maintenance was as well...

We had a great time here. There were plenty of beds for everyone to sleep in. We had no issues with accessing the cabin and all the amenities it had to offer. All the appliances were in working order as well as the hot tub.

The house was as good or better than the pictures on the website. Very clean and well stocked. Bedrooms were clean, comfortable, good beds, and extra blankets. The neighborhood was great and quiet.
Wow...we had a great time.

It was very easy and efficient to check-in and out.
Home had all we needed. All was in working order, clean and well appointed.
Loved the hot tub, good location away from the hustle and bustle yet close enough to dabble
The open space made it easier to spend time together.

We noticed that you could tell that this home was a rental. The main stove that has a cooktop had a stove below that did not work, the vent on the cooktop did not work. the house stated no pets but we found pet hair near the couch. one of the 2 main couches you could not sit in because you would sink in so far that it was not comfortable. The rugs looked like they needed to be cleaned. No vents for heating in the back rooms down stairs and up stairs. But the house has plenty of room for a large group with multiple beds. The house could use a blender and a good bread knife. The house should have been cleaned better before we arrived. Everyone did love the hot tub after snow boarding though..

First, let me comment about the sales representatives for CB - Mckinney & Associates in South Lake Tahoe. They are some of the friendliest people I've actually met from this general area. They did a great job of getting me a really good deal, even including a list of "hot-spots" and events that took place during our stay. I can not give enough praise to them for their hard work.
The house itself was huge, and perfect for my large group. We were mostly 20-somethings celebrating another year of being mutually connected through friends, and a love of snowboarding, and we managed to come during one of the few weeks that snow fell in Tahoe this year (so far).
There were never any sleeping concerns because the house accommodated us all very well. The Hot tub was warmed and ready to go before we even entered the house, which is a huge relief because it means we wont have to wait for it to heat up. The fridge and all other amenities were perfectly sized, and suited our purposes wonderfully. The rooms had plenty of extra pillows and blankets, as well as a comfortable couch, and a well sized T.V. (though to be honest we didn't watch a lot of T.V.).
All in all, if you are bringing a large group of people this is a great house to experience. I would recommend it to any and all of my friends, as well as any strangers who wished to celebrate a love for Tahoe.

we loved the place. We have been renting through you guys for years. This suggestion was phenomenal! We would like to reserve this place the same weekend every year.
Only issue we had was when one person was taking a shower the other two showers had no water pressure and couldn't be used. With 13 guys that was a challenge a times. Other than that, we are very excited about this new find. Had a such a memorable weekend. Thank you.

Fun House in desperate need of cobweb dusting

We had 16 people in this house, 6 adults and 10 kids ranging from 2-13. The main room with the kitchen and living room was a great place to hang out and was the heard of the home. There were more than enough beds for the 16 of us. We put 7 of the children in the double bunk room + the room with three singles connected to the bunk room. That was great except it was cold in that wing and it was hard to heat unless you lit the wood stove in the back 3-single bedroom. We hesitated to do that because we had three 6-7 year olds in there and were not sure if they would mess with a lit stove, but they did not and it was OK. We lost power three times due to storms, and although it was out of the control of McKinley, they did contact the power company and then would call to give us updates. We didn't have propane for the BBQ and within 1 hour of calling management, Dave the maintenance guy came out with a full tank and hooked us up. Nice guy, that Dave! The kitchen is very well supplied with dishes and we had access to a supply clset that had paper towels and TB and many other things like light bulbs and tools and flashlights. We were not sure that we should have had access to this closet, but we weren't complaining. I would recommend anyone coming up bring there own candles because we didn't have any and luckily most of the power outages were in the daytime. We did have to put some duck tape on the kitchen floor strip that divided the kitchen floor from the living room floor. It was a wood strip and it was splintered and two of our children ripped holes in their socks (luckily not their feet) and so we put duck tape on that to prevent any more incidences.
Did I mention the cobwebs? Yuck! They are really gross and need to be cleaned up. Huge cobwebs too. All over the place. (see more of the review in the tip section)

A comfortable house near trails

Four of us stayed 3 nights in this 6 BR / 3 Ba house.
Positives: The house was very roomy. The kitchen and dining area were an extension of the living area, so it was easy for all of us to prepare meals together and hang out in the same room while doing different activities. We used the grill and the hot tub (lovely at night with the Milky Way above). The beds were comfortable.
Location: The house was just a half block from a large preserve with many trails, so we could easily hike from our front door. South Lake Tahoe was just a short drive away.
What could be improved: We took the instructions in the contract seriously when we were told to bring *everything* we needed. But it ended up that the house was already equipped with much of what we brought. Our packing space was limited (4 people plus stuff in one car) so If we had known, we would have brought stuff that we left behind. It sure would have been nice to know what our specific rental location had (food staples, paper towels, glasses, cooking gear) and didn't have (long-handled tools for the grill, a brush to clean the grill--which was dirty, and a basting brush).
Nice to have: It would have been great to have the drawers and cabinets labeled so that the kitchen could stay organized at least a little bit. Every time we used the kitchen, we found new items that we hadn't noticed and many duplicates. The living-dining area was quite dark; it would have been nice to have more floor lamps to focus the light where we needed it. The blinds on one of the living room windows could not be opened. The turner was broken off when we arrived.
We loved the weather, the location, the house, the activities available, the local grocery stores ... everything!

We had 3 families sharing the house & it was perfect for us. The living room is big & open, great TV. Kitchen was well equipped. The bedrooms are a little dated but we loved having so many beds - especially the bunk room upstairs - very fun for teenagers. Gas grill didn't work - maybe just needed propane? great service from CB McKinney.
