Lynchburg, VAUnforgetable million dollar view
Left on 03/28/2013 for a stay in September 2012
We rented this cabin because of the view, and the view was everything is was promoted to be. The cabin itself is older, but is comfortable. It could use some updating, but you cannot beat the view of the lake. My dad is using a walker, and almost cancelled out on going with us, because he thought there would be too much walking. This cabin was the perfect answer. The main entrance has only one step up to the entry, and only one step into the entry. It has 2 bedrooms on that main level, a bath, and the main living area are all on this main entry level also. The lake view is great from the main level and the large outdoor deck is also part of this main level. We had a great time together,Dad enjoyed himself and was glad that he joined us for the trip. I would gladly rent this property again.

Left on 12/06/2012 for a stay in November 2012
Our family Thanksgiving on Saddle Rd will be a memory for life.
The home's 360 views, being together under one roof, waking up together playing pool, using the bar, kitchen, couches, etc will never be forgotten. The neighborhood was a delight as was the home. We would like to come back again to share in the welcome openness of this home. Rustic old wood beams and huge a frame windows with verandas all around all three levels brought warmth and good feelings. Thanks for opening up your home to our family. Happy Holidays. The Porters -

Beautiful view indeed, very spacious. Some of the couches can use a good cleaning, the pool sticks needs new tips. All in all, its a great experience, exactly what was shown in the pictures.

San FranciscoDecent place, great views, a little funky/dated, "OK" for the $
Left on 07/21/2011 for a stay in July 2011
This place has an amazing view. It's a little bit far from the lake in return for that though. And it wasn't inexpensive by any stretch...
The good: Well stocked with amenities and towels, a nice touch. Incomparable view, nice decks. Pool table, hot tub, fireplaces. access to heavenly's hiking trails.
The not so good: It's dated. Also the layout is somewhat odd, with sharp angles of the a-frame house creating weird doors that look like coffins, etc. And the sound system built into the walls is straight out of the 70's as are the appliances. The kitchen is cramped. There's a closet downstairs that looks like it was scraped from some animal (?) or something that was locked inside -- kinda creepy. You just have to be aware of this because as I say compared to many rentals I didn't think it was "cheap" by any stretch. -

Boston, MaGreat for a chill ski weekend
Left on 04/07/2011 for a stay in April 2011
I stayed here with a bunch of friends and it worked out perfectly. There is a plenty of space to hang out as well as to duck into a room and sleep. The open floor plan with the a-frame was awesome, and the view was spectacular. Hot tub and pool table were bonuses. The decor is pretty old school, but it works and gives the place the feel of a 70's ski chalet. If you're looking for an upscale place it's not for you. If you're looking for a place close to the mountain, with easy access to town, and with laid back vibe this spot is perfect.

Lost Weekend
avon, ctNice View, Bad House
Left on 02/09/2011 for a stay in January 2011
This home is perfectly situated for skiing Heavenly. Just a short distance from the Gondola where you can buy lift tickets and be on your way. Views of the lake and mountains are spectacular. We watched the sunrise over the lake and the sunset over the mountains.
The house itself was not very clean (dust, greasy kitchen). Its old and has not been updated. Cooking stuff was inadequate for our purposes (we cook breakfasts and dinners) with dull knives, no mixing bowls and towels and wash cloths.
Hot tub jets did not all work and garage is locked and can not be used. Boat in driveway took up parking space though we did not need it for our 3 cars.
Cable had all the movie channels but no Versus so we missed the NHL allstar weekend. A major loss for this Chicago Blackhawk fan.
Rental office was very good. Process easy and straightforward. Would do another rental with them but would definitely get a better house...hopefully with as good a view.Response from CB - Mckinney & Associates - 02/23/2011

I would like to thank this guest for the review on this Heavenly vacation rental home at 4274 Saddle Road. This is certainly the high standard that we are looking to achieve for our guests.
The owner has addressed some of the issues in this review by changing the cleaning service and having the spa service adjust the jets of the hot tub. The style of the house is that of a traditional Tahoe cabin, but it has been updated in the past year with new doors and windows throughout, new flat screen TV's, and new furniture including beds, two dining sets and a sofa in the game room".

San FranciscoGreat location, awesome view, cabin just average
Left on 01/05/2011 for a stay in January 2011
We rented this cabin very last minute after a power blackout forced us out of our original cabin. The cabin has a very nice hot-tub, a pool table and superb view of the Lake. The snow was plowed from the entrance when we arrived which was great (after a snow storm) and overall we had a good experience. That said, we paid close to 1,000$/night for New Year and for that price, we found the cabin to be lacking. Not enough wine glasses and plates/cups (and we were only 7 ppl), no dishwashing liquid or garbage bags, a few heaters didn't work - although it wasn't a problem as there were plenty of space heaters - and the pool table surface is old. Two very modern TVs and DVD players but no ipod hook (bummer).

Trinidad, CAgreat for multiple families!
Left on 09/23/2010 for a stay in September 2010
Amazing view, 5 star location for sure. Fantastic house for large groups. Hot tub and pool table were put to good use, while the 3 levels offered privacy and peace and quiet to whoever wanted it. We had 10 in our group, everyone slept comfortably and the multiple bathrooms were convenient. The house was a little older feeling with wear and tear that is not seen in the photos. And the 3 car limit was hard with our group. So we used the casino valet and shuttled up. But this wasn't a problem. We would definitely stay again. Would love to sit on that deck for hours in the sun. Great view and good times!

The owner of the home hired a plumber to come in and resolve the smell. Their were several plumbing repairs needed in the downstairs bathroom that was causing the odor. The smell has now been eliminated.

We had to accommodate quite a few people sence we were celebrating 3 birthday parties and this cabin was perfect. Plenty of rooms and bathrooms. Roof leaked in the kitchen and the bathroom on the main floor had a messed up toilet. Other than that there were no real problems. Great view!!! We were very comfortable.

San Francisco, CADid the job... just had some problems.
Left on 01/21/2010 for a stay in January 2010
The house was definitely a little 'older' in style which we had no issues with. The lighting was pretty god awful in parts especially the downstairs, and it could use some easy face lifts in amenities. The pool table was far from balanced which was kind of a bummer, but we still enjoyed it. There was a random matress in the downstairs bedroom which was useful, but kinda ghetto. The linens were outdated but not really anything to complain about.
We did have one serious issue with a leak in the upstairs bathroom which started pouring out of the side wall onto their chair. Somebody who was at the house told me about it and it forced me to leave the Casino's a bit early, which was less than appreciated to say the least.
Overall it wasn't terrible for the price, but I'd shop around a bit more first. Definitely did the job of holding our large group though.Response from CB - Mckinney & Associates - 02/22/2010

The loaction was great and the views frome were wonderful. we did have a few issues though. the keys tha were initially provided did not work we had to wait 30 min for someone to bring us working keys.
Once we were in the house the sliding glass door on the main floor did not function properly and the draperies and overall smell on the lower level was not pleseant. We had to get Febreeze and air freshners.
In addition ther was a leak in the plumbing whish was a casue for concerns and we notified the manamgnet office when we found it.Response from CB - Mckinney & Associates - 02/22/2010

Left on 09/24/2009 for a stay in June 2009
I rented this place for a Bachelorette weekend for my sister and 9 other girls. The house did its job. It was big and the family room/kitchen was nice an open which was perfect for a big group. The location is central to casinos/lake, etc (short drive). Beds were not very big and pretty old. It has an amazing view though, which made up for the older house.
