Can't beat the location. The house was comfortable and accommodating. The pier access, apartment and garage were a bonus. A great experience!
The service provided by CB McKinney & Associates was excellent.

Fabulous, spacious cabin, world-class setting!

Loved the cabin, the lovely forested slope and setting in Cascade Properties and the gorgeous lake-front location. The South Lake environment was so quaint and peaceful.
On the other hand, we felt, for the price of this stay, there was far too much of the owner's stuff everywhere: on the walls, in the drawers, in the cupboards and on the shelves. The kitchen was a jumble, with many, many dull knives, duplicate cheap stuff just jammed into cupboards, and even a junk drawer! The dishwasher did not work. There was no dishwasher soap. The bathrooms had only one wash cloth. The BBQ was filthy. The kayak had a broken oar so could not be used.
The rental people were great: gracious and helpful.

What a fantastic weekend. I still have the vacation blues after this amazing place. It was such a comfortable, peaceful, and fun place to stay. Very clean. The private dock is amazing and all you need. Amazing sun rises. Friendly service. Close to lots of recreational activities. Best thing - the view.
Disappointed with accomodations but view was worth it!

Four couples rented the property for four days in July. The house is advertised as having four bedrooms that accommodate 10 people. We were very disappointed to find out that one of the bedrooms (separate from the main house) was a glorified storage room with a mattress on the floor. There were no windows (fire hasard??) and just an overhead light. There was seating for six at the dining room table with two extra chairs available. If we did have ten people, where would the other two be seated to eat? No other chairs were available. The main attraction of the property is definitely its location. Right on Lake Tahoe. There is a huge picture window in the living room that looks out on the lake and there are two very comfortable lounge chairs and three other chairs around a large table on the deck. It is easy to spend most of the day relaxing on the deck and enjoying the view. Having a washer/dryer available was appreciated. We did receive a partial refund from the rental agency when we called them the day of arrival and expressed our discontent with the bedroom situation. Our experience with the rental agency was a good one but we should have been made totally aware of the bedroom situation.

I didn't want to go anywhere else nor did many other of my guests. The location was excellent for those who wanted to see other things. The home provided nice amenities.

Pics cant touch how magnificent this home is. Inlaw setup was a real bonus. Lucky us had just enough snow to turn it into a winter wonderland. The beams are awe inspiring. The use of natural wood kept your attention. The home was comfy without cold spots and noisy fans. Everyone is still talking about our stay. Will be back. Needs work on living room a/V

This house needs a lot of repairs and fixing up. There were 9+ lightbulbs out, had to wash most of the dishes before they were used, a kitchen cabinet door was missing, lots of cobwebs and the towels were so new the tags had not been removed therefore had not even been washed. We had to buy our own toilet paper and paper towels. The Vrbo picture is great and the view is spectacular but not worth the money. Read more

When our guests check in we ask them to please report any issues they have when arrive at the home. We are happy to send out maintenance or housekeeping right away to handle any complaints our guests have. Unfortunately this complaint was mentioned at check out. We sent our housekeeper out immediately to perform a deep clean of the home and replace all light bulbs as needed.
Excellent location!!! Needs maintenance...

Just got back from Lake Tahoe-stayed for 5 days.We were a group of 6 adults and 4 kids. The location is a+ excellent, close to Camp Richardson but on a private/gated road next to some really beautiful homes. The house has some nice-unobstructed views of the lake.Has a private boat dock. There are three bedrooms in the main house and one semi-finished room in the detached in-law unit (it is half-way up the hill and on the underside of the garage)
Now the negatives. The surrounding homes have well manicured gardens and landscaping while this house looks like a home being shortsold or foreclosed. It has no landscaping, the grounds have weeds growing everywhere. The house was extremely dirty, dusty and not cleaned or even opened in a long time. The house had a musty odor when we first entered.A couple of the kids in our party suffer from severe dust/dander allergies and I had inquired with the rental agency about the cleanliness of the property, I was told that the property is booked solid for the entire month and it gets cleaned every time. That cannot be true as there was dust on the dining table, counters and floors and cobwebs on the deck chairs and tables. Moreover, every window in the house had cobwebs between the bug screens and the glass. This was a huge issue with us as we had some very miserable children amongst us,and all because the rental agent chose to lie to us.This is also not right because we paid an exorbitant amount to clean the property but we did not get a clean property. No toilet paper in two of the three bathrooms and no paper towels in the kitchen. There is no wifi- internet access in the house. The house is not suitable for seniors/disabled as There are several flights of steep stairs from the street level to the main house. There were remnants of old charred firewood from the last renters which was not cleared. The In-law unit has a very dark-windowless bedroom with a half inflated airmattress and a frameless mattress and boxspring on the floor.

When we stayed here recently, the power went out. This is no fault of the owners or the rental company. However, when we spoke to the neighbors, they told us that this happens quite often in the winter. There were no instructions or supplies for such an event -- no candles, flashlights/batteries, firewood for heat, generator (which most of the neighbors have for just such an emergency). We called the rental company, and their response essentially was, "too bad." There should have been a set of emergency supplies in the garage. We ended up running around in the snow trying to buy these supplies from cleaned out stores.
If the situation had been different -- no snow, or as rental that was ready for it -- we would have had a much more positive experience. Otherwise, the house was pretty much as advertised. Read more

The entire Lake Tahoe area suffered severe power outages due to a major snow storm. 10,000 customers were without power. The outages in some cases lasted 48-72 hours before power was reestablished. This type of disaster has not occured in this area in over 10 years. The guests were told that they would be reimbursed for the costs of any emergency supplies they might have needed during their stay.

Beautiful location, but house poorly maintained and dirty. Advertised by McKinney & Associates Realtors as 4 bedrooms, house has only 3 bedrooms and separated in-law apartment with unfurnished bedroom. Separated bedroom not advertised on realtor website. One bedroom in main house furnished with as kids bedroom. Very uncomfortable sleeping for adults. Throughout the house, all closets filled with items belonging to owners. Photos available. Read more

After hearing of these guest complaints we had the housekeeping company go in and do a full deep clean of the home. They organized the owners closets and thoroughly cleaned all areas of the home. This is by far one of our best rental homes and to give it only one star is extremely unfair. Please view the virtual tour of the home to see this beautiful home for yourself.

Amazing View, Fabulous Dock, Great Neighborhood!

We just finished up a 3 night stay at 2201 Cascade and it was a great trip! The house is located just past Camp Richardson in a very upscale neighborhood. I cannot say enough about the fabulous views and the great dock. Couple of things to point out: (1) The fourth bedroom is actually a mother-in-law suite located off of the detached garage. It is nice, but not connected to the main house, which could be an issue if you had kids. (2) The furnishings in the house itself left a little to be desired. Although, I think that is the reason why the rates are so reasonable for the lakefront location!
Overall, I would definitely recommend this house and we anticipate utilizing it again in the future!

The house is amazing! The private pier, outdoor deck, and campfire area let us take advantage of the great lakefront location - we were barely inside except to sleep! Only amenity missing was an outdoor jacuzzi on the deck. Was there with a group of friends & we had a blast. A little pricey for a rental, and the guest house bedroom felt very boxed-in because it had no windows but no other complaints. We've already booked for next July 15th - 19th & would enjoy the 15% discount mentioned in the email for this stay. Truly the best summer vacation I've had in many years!

Great location, wonderful house. The only negative were the steps from the parking area to the house and the lack places to put our clothes. Needs luggage stands for suitcases or drawer units for clothes. Found the dock an excellent replacement for the lack of a sandy beach.

I stayed with a group of friends at 2201 Cascade Road. Most of us work as architects - some in San Francisco, a couple of us from Oklahoma City, and one from New York City - we couldn't stop marveling at the cabin. The exposed wood trusses and the fantastic view of the lake and surrounding mountains. I told my wife that we will be planning doing a roadtrip next summer. Hopefully we can stay in the same place.

Great location on a great lake. Just bring food and clothes, and then relax. Floor plan maximizes views of the lake. There is plenty of room to comfortably sleep 8 people. Beware that the long steps between the driveway and the house can be quite a challenge for those who are not in good shape. Let the kids carry all the stuff between cars and house!
McKinney and Associates staff was very helpful and friendly.
