The home has a wonderful forest setting, which provides tremendous privacy and peace and quiet. The area has many trails for walking, biking, cross country skiing and snowshoeing. Terrific for small gatherings, the home offers a great room, which includes the living room, kitchen and dining area. Our family's annual week-long stay in South Lake Tahoe was wonderful! We enjoy this area and return each year to take in all things winter! The neighborhood is quiet and ideally located for all of our interests: walking, hiking, wildife viewing, skiing, shopping, movie-going... Although the fenced-in backyard lacks some privacy from neighbors, the home was very comfortable, clean, and well equipped. Having a deputy sheriff living next door was definitely comforting ~ this property is well taken care of and certainly gives the feeling of a home away from home! The amenities more than met our needs, the hot tub was most appreciated, and staying in a pet friendly home is an absolute bonus!!! Thank you, we hope to return!

Temecula, CABlissful, better than a high end hotel

I had to convince my highly reluctant spouse to try a home rental for the first time during the long weekend of my daughter's wedding in aug 2012. We have a small dog and most hotels (that are decent) don't allow pets. I also had plans to prepare a side dish for the wedding (for over 75 people) so I needed a full kitchen.
This home was perfect. From the moment we walked in the door (key box code was sent to us and we unlocked the door upon arrival)until we left we were very pleased. It was very clean (I am a retired military officer and cleanliness is high on my list!!), well stocked and delightful, from start to finish.
It was in the low 90s the four days we were there but the home did not feel hot or stuffy. We opened the windows upstairs at night (temps get very cool, 45 or 50) and closed them in the am and the house stayed cool.
The spacious master suite had a ceiling fan and private bath and the other two large bedrooms shared a full bath. There were plenty of nice towels and some toiletries in each bath, a hair dyer etc.
The full washer and dryer were much appreciated too. We were able to wash some clothes before we left and had less laundry to do when we got home.
The TVs were fine, with a decent selection of channels, although we only watched a little of the Olympics since we were out playing most of the time.
The neighborhood was very quiet (an Eldorado County Sheriff lives next door, we saw his truck each night, and that helps I am sure :-), walkable and the fenced backyard was perfect for our small dog. It is about 10 min or less to the casinos so traffic and crowds were minimal.
My husband is a total convert now! We will definitely rent this home again if it is available when we travel to South Lake Tahoe.
