San Mateo, CAIt was just OK
Left on 01/29/2013 for a stay in December 2012
I was really excite about going up to Tahoe spending my NYE. This place was recommended by the agency as one of their premier places. There are two positive aspects of this place, it is on the water with a view and has updated kitchen. Everything else is mixed bag.
Some of the thing I really disliked about this place:
Heating is all screwed up, in order to get the bedrooms heated up you have to blast the main heater and even then you still need to keep separate heater on in the bedrooms. The bedrooms without the stand alone heaters are freezing cold.
The bedrooms upstairs are miniscule, we brought a co-sleeper for our baby is it barely fit.
The corner sofa in the living room is so beat up and all cracked up.
Stereo System sound was coming out of only one speaker, we actually fixed it ourselves.
Even though the house accommodates up to 8 people, there were only 4 bath towels.
The place had 2 shot glasses, when the house accommodates 8
Insulation is extremely poor, you had to whisper not to wake up people, even if there were in the master bedroom downstairs with the closed door.
Even though the it hasn't snowed in almost a week, the path to the grill on the deck was not cleared. We had to do that ourselves
This is definitely not a 500 a night type of place
I would not stay here again, nor I would recommend this to anyone. -

Austin, TXOk property, a little small, some things need fixing
Left on 02/22/2011 for a stay in February 2011
We stayed here for President's Day weekend. This property is nice, but the living area is really small and not really that great for 8 people (the cabin capacity). The toilet in the master bath downstairs was broken, and there was no where to hang the showerhead in that bathroom - you had to hold it the whole time. We did enjoy the hot tub and nice kitchen. The bed in the smallest room is pretty uncomfortable, but the others were ok. Remember to bring your own towels, because only 8 are provided and that's not enough for showers and hot tubbing. Overall, for a pretty pricy property, I wouldn't stay there again.

Santa Clarita, CAClean, Up-graded newer home
Left on 07/22/2010 for a stay in June 2010
The only problem checking in to this property was caused by the fact that a condominium we had rented at a much lower rate was filthy. After the problems were straightened out, we really enjoyed our stay at 1870 Cascade and we took care of the home as if it were our own.

Montrose, ColoradoVery Nice!
Left on 07/08/2010 for a stay in June 2010
We went for a family vacation for a week, renting the home and a boat. It was nice to be able to dock the boat at the house. Nice neighborhood, with the exception of construction next door, pretty quiet. Clean house, manicured yard. No kitchen towels, no paper towels. Had to shop for paper towels and t.p, other than that everything else was provided. Wonderfully relaxing. We will visit again

San Jose, CAGreat Location in South Lake Tahoe
Left on 02/08/2010 for a stay in December 2009
To start off, Tahoe Key Resort is a nice location in South Lake Tahoe. The cabin I stayed at was newly renovated and very clean.
There was 1 bedroom downstairs, which was very cold. We found a portable heater to place in that room, otherwise it's just way too cold. All rooms are good sizes and comfortable. The bathroom upstairs is small and needs to be shared. The one downstairs is inside the bedroom, so it makes it difficult to share. Also the entrance to the hot tub is from the bedroom downstairs. The hot tub can take 4, 5 people max. Would have been nice to have a larger hot tub.
The kitchen is very clean and is a good size. There is a beautiful deck upstairs with a natural gas grill, which is very useful for cooking.
We could never figure out how to turn on the fireplace and called for assistance, but that was never resolved.
Overall, we had a great time in this location and cabin and would come back again either in the winter or summer.
