We enjoyed our stay in the Portofino house very much. We wished that it had it's own access to the beach, but we adapted well :) The drawback was that the house alarm went off in the middle of the night while we were there and we didn't have the code to disarm it...that made for a very disturbing time. We also stayed at Rapunzel and enjoyed it very much. We liked having a pool at Rapunzel.

The house and neighborhood created a beautiful atmosphere like right off the pages of a magazine. We loved the peaceful beach scenery, flying kites, chasing crabs at night, watching a wedding on the beach, reading on the veranda, taking pictures & walking the beach. We had no rain in the 16 days, but occasionally the wind was a little too strong.
Franke Rentals' Susan helped me find the perfect rental property for our vacation when I described all the things I was looking for. And any time I called with questions, everyone there was totally helpful. They all get an a+. -

We were looking for a place to getaway during Spring Break where we didn't have to experience the Spring Break teenage crowd, and we found it! Portofino is a beautiful beach house that overlooks the gulf. It is located in a gated neighborhood that shelters its guests from the noise and traffic of island tourists. The kitchen is fabulous -- with a gas range and double oven that any cook would envy, and a convenient breakfast bar that was perfect for serving-up lunch and breakfast for the kids. It has two separate balconies that look out over the gulf, and offer a perfect respite for reading, sketching or taking a nap. My favorite thing about Portofino is the Master Suite. We loved the seclusion, the spaciousness and the appointments! Portofino was the perfect retreat for our family's getaway. We loved it so much that we are returning for our summer beach vacation as well.
