  We just returned from South Padre Island and we had a blast! I was traveling with my daughter and 3 children. We booked unit 2202 in the Isla Del Sol complex right on the beach and the team at Padre Getaways made it very easy. They had everything done for us before arriving on Sunday so all we had to do was pick up the keys and the access code to the gated property. After an 8 hour trip the kids were ready to hit the beach that afternoon and they made it possible. The layout of the unit was perfect for our needs and the kids felt comfortable. Our first impress upon entering was great; everything was clean, neat and stocked with all we would need for our vacation. The security on the property was exactly what we had asked for since it was our top priority with 3 small children. It was spring break while we were there and the crew at the complex made sure no one came on the property that was not staying there. We felt very secure.
  
  The only negative was the wireless internet access in the unit was not working properly but the team at Padre Getaways reported it immediately to the cable company and kept us posted often on everything that was going on concerning the issue.
  
  We will definitely return. The views from the balcony are phenomenal! We could not have had better plus the grounds and the pool in the complex have ocean views. Great vacation.

  Not Well Managed!

  Isla del Sol property is in a great location, however we stayed in condo #2202 and it is not maintained well at all. There were roaches, roach eggs, dirty utensils, cabinets, and drawers. The coffee pot was disgusting, we had to buy a small one just to drink coffee. After seeing the roaches and unclean condition of the kitchen, we were afraid of the bedding and pillows, needless to say we did not sleep well. The management company offered us a place on Wed. for $100.00 more a night...not acceptable. They came over the next day to "deep clean" but obviously their idea of "clean" is not in line with most people I know. We do not live in filth and we certainly don't want to vacation in it. We did get a $50.00 gift card to a restaurant, that we had to pick up. They did spray on Mon. but still saw roaches the following Sat. The "new" refrigerator did not work and over $150.00 of food had to be thrown out. The management never did address that problem. The master shower squeals, the ceiling over the kitchen sink was wet from some sort of leak. Not a well maintained condo by the owner or the management company. It is too bad, because this is a nice location, it is quiet, has a pool and it is a quick walk to the beach. Unfortunately we were very unhappy with our accomodations because of the bad conditions. We will never rent from Padre Getaways again!
