Description from the owner
Our secluded cottage faces south overlooking the bay, islands, and working lobster boats. The front deck is ideal for lunching, sunning, and watching nature at play and joins a grassed lawn perfect for games. A hammock under the pines can't be beat for quiet times. The inside is natural pine adding a rustic feel and all amenities are provided for an easy,comfortable stay. For added comfort and marshmellows there is a smalll wood stove to take the chill off a cool evening. The house sits way off a private dirt road so is ideal for children and pets.

Hawkweed abuts a nature conservancy which is home to birds and small animals. The access road is private and dirt so there is only resident traffic. On the water side of the road are private homes, each on 1 acre +/-. There is a home on the right side that is not visible in summertime and on the other side one is close to the road so not visible from the cottage. The driveway is gravel and level with an ample parking area.
Birch Point State Park is one of Maine's nicest beaches and is only 1 mile away as is the village store, art gallery and public boat launch.
It is 4 miles into Rockland where festivals are held every summer weekend. Boat and kayak rentals are at the pier as well as sight seeing trips. Camden and Rockland harbors are home to the schooner fleets,and restaurants, museums and galleries abound in and around the area. Easy day trips include Bar Harbor and Freeport.
