Description from the manager
Location, location, location. The view from the wrap- around deck of this cottage is spectacular! The cottage itself is somewhat small but it has an ocean view that is larger than you can imagine! The cottage has two bedrooms, each with one queen-size bed. The living room sofa is also a queen futon however the water and septic systems are sized to accommodate only 4 people. This cottage has a walk-out basement which is locked and is used to store the owner's private belongings. You will only have access to the main floor, upstairs. There is a charcoal barbecue and tables and chairs on the deck as well as satellite TV in the living room but, i...Read more

Ashburnham, MAGreat spot, great service!
Left on 07/11/2012 for a stay in June 2012
We love this area for our family with 2 kids (ages 8, 11). There is lots to do within a short drive, and the bike trail is great (Cape Cod Rail Trail). The view is wonderful, the cottage is clean, and Surfside provides excellent, friendly service.
Note: access to the beach at LeCount Hollow is a steep sandy path. That could be a challenge for someone who has trouble with mobility. -

This is the second year I have stayed at 440 Nellie. You cannot beat the location and the price. You are overlooking the North atlantic. The cottage is in the National Seashore. There are few of these left that are on the rental market. You are just a two minute walk to the Lecount Hollow Beach and within a short driving distance of many good restaurants. This year owner has put in new kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom floors. Enjoyed the stay.

Wonderful cottage with a spectacular view and perfect location! It was very comfortable and the management was friendly, knowledgable, and helpful.
We spent a lot of time biking and the cottage was minutes away from the Cape Cod Rail Trail and PB Boulangerie, an amazing French bakery and restaurant. The ocean view was perfect: we could see it from the living room and deck and hear the waves at night.
Couldn't have asked for a better experience! -

ChathamAbsolutely perfect location.

This cottage offers a singularly spectacular location, as we had a panoramic view of the ocean and the beach that made it extremely difficult to leave the porch when the weather was pleasant. When it wasn't, it was very still very enjoyable to watch storms from the comfort of the amply windowed living room.
Everything else was quite likable as well. For example the cottage is very isolated and quiet, but there are a number of great restaurants nearby (we especially loved the boulangerie on the corner). Also, aside from the beach, there is a lengthy nearby rail trail for jogging and cycling.
The cottage itself was quite simple, but very functional. I can't imagine it lacking anything that anybody would need.
Finally, Armand and his wife were both very pleasant and helpful and the check-in/check-out process could not have been any easier. -

Rensselaer, NYAbsolutely Wonderful
Left on 10/08/2010 for a stay in September 2010
The first night we arrived, we grilled some steak and drank wine while we dined on the deck overlooking the ocean. It was absolutely and spectacularly beautiful, and most of our breakfasts were spent there as well. Even if it rains, you can sit on the couch and look at the view through the sliding glass door. The walks along the beach were wonderful, with usually some seals popping their heads up from time to time, and even a couple sightings of a whale spout in the distance. Marconi Station is within easy biking distance using the Rail Trail, and there is a general store nearby to pick up odds and ends, not to mention some great restaurants nearby. We're looking forward to our next visit.

440 Nellie is a very nice, private cottage with a wraparound deck that has a fabulous view of the National Seashore and Dunes. The beach, 150 yards down a nice sand path through the dunes, is incredibly convenient.
The cottage has two nice bedrooms with comfortable beds, a small, but serviceable kitchen and a good sized living room with a terrific picture window and sliding door looking out to the same great view of the atlantic. Also has satellite TV - a rarity in these cottages.
Wellfleet is a quaint little town with lots to do.
All in all, highly recommended. We booked next year. -

Excellent on-site service - efficient and friendly.
The cottage had all we needed for a simple week's stay. China dessert bowls instead of plastic would have been nice. With decks on 3 sides you can sit outside in all wind directions and be sheltered. Very peaceful yet had all the shops you needed close by, including a gorgeous French bakery.
We liked being so close to the beach best and we never tired of the views of the ocean and passing whales. Really useful were the binoculars that are in the house. In summer we would have wanted a shade umbrella for the picnic table.
We rented bikes which were delivered to our door and we cycled to numerous beaches, ponds and the bay where even in May we swam - but we are hardy northern English folk!
We wanted to spend all summer there!
