Overall, it was a good experience. The home had plenty of room and fit our needs. Location was fine, close to beach and grocery stores.
The a/C did not function right, and that took some time to get the office to respond and send a repairman. He found ants in the "magnet". After that, it was cool and much more comfortable, but the last night, it seemed to be running lower than we set it. You may need to watch future reports.

Response from Resort Realty Outer Banks - 06/21/2013
We're so happy to hear that you had a good week, but are sorry to hear that there was an issue with the air conditioning. Our maintenance department is aware and is monitoring this issue closely. I see in our work order system that our maintenance tech checked on it and it was blowing cool air. Again, thank you for your time and we hope that you will vacation with us in the near future.
A fun week in a great location.

Overall this was a great house in a great location near the ocean, shopping and dining. The only bad thing about the location was the main road is just below all the bedroom windows making it noisy in the early moring hours. I'll be back but bring headphones or earplugs to help with sleeping.

Resort Realty was great. The key pick-up was smooth. All of our questions and concerns were addressed with extreme courtesy. The check-out process was great - we did not have to return to the rental office. And, the house was perfect! Sadly, we were forced to cut our trip short because of Hurricane Earl.
great beach house

This was a great beach house, nicely decorated & well maintained, plenty if kitchen appliances, dishes, etc. Easy 2 block walk to the public beach access, outside shower is nice to rinse sand off before entering the house. Beach chairs also located under carport. Also loved that all linens were included so we didn't have the extra expense of renting them. Handicap features were nice since we had an elderly in-law staying with us. Only downside to the house was that it was next to the main road & you could contantly hear the traffic even at night but if you don't mind that the location is great. Grocery stores & Walmart also close by & we found a back way (using back roads) to get back & forth to the house so we didn't get caught up in the traffic if the main road was really busy. I would rent this property again.

Comfy house near beach

This home is a comfy place to stay; one block from the beach. Located next to the busy road to Duck, traffic noise in the early a.m. impacts sleeping in. Kitchen has some basic needs but is not great if you really love to cook - measuring cup broken, skillets in poor non-stick shape, etc. ...and in this day and age no Wifi!!! There is nice deck space and a screened porch (though traffic noise is loud to be outside much of the day). We rented at a discount one week prior to travel - would not have really been worth the full posted price for that time of year. This home was conveniently located to the rest of our family staying in an oceanfront home so it was a good choice for us. A little housekeeping snaffu kept us from really taking advantage of our early check-in on Sunday, but the office was quick to correct the problem.

This was our first vacation to the beach ever!! The rental was wonderful. Convenient. Close to the beach. Close to all amenities. We were very happy and are definitely coming back next year.

Nice, comfortable house

This cottage was nice and comfortable with most of the amenities available. We would have liked to have a newer iron and a standup ironing board.
The little ironing board is just too difficult to use. A full lenghth mirror in the master would have been nice. We appreciated the member parking passes for the lot near the beach. The house was clean. Carpet had some stain marks and could use a good cleaning in the near future. The washer/dryer were welcomed and the new ramp made it easy to roll up our heavy suitcases. Kitchen was well stocked for our family of four. We would consider returning to this property in future years.

Southern Comfort is a lovely beach home. It was comfortable and very nicely decorated. The walk to the beach was just about a block and a half away. We had a few light bulbs burn out while we were staying there and the maintainance department sent a man right up to change them for us.
