      The house was excellent - everything the ad made it out to be! The only negative was that the basement bedroom carpet apparently had been flooded previously, and upon our arrival late Sunday evening, we found the carpet still wet with a commercial blower running in the room.

      Unfortunately, there was no notice of the problem, and no direction for when the maintenance company would be back. Several days later, the blower was removed. It would have been appropriate to have left a note with the keys / welcome package - or - simply leave a note in the house indicating what was going to be done. Someone had to sleep in that room during the week dealing with the blower in the room.....

      Overall, a great house and a great stay! We will revisit the OBX and will utilize Southern Shores in teh future.....

      Lovely house, chattal needs to be "refreshed"

      Southern Shores is a nice realty - I think it was the agency who arranges some nice "little things" like there being some new rolls of TP and a roll of paper towels, gallon of milk when you get there. The house itself is quite nice, this primary external picture is a little decieiving - houses are all around it and one obstructs your direct view of the sound. But still I still largely liked the house itself. The problem comes with the lack of working accessories: pots and pans virtually unuseable condition (worse then other rentals I've rented in the area), no vacuum cleaner (a problem if you stay 2 weeks or even one day with small children!), 2 broken toasters, cordless phone battery being toast, master bedroom with no dresser and 3 wire hangers only, a surround sound system is lauded in the listing but only sort of functioning, really junky speakers on the out of date TV in the main family room, and so on -- again lots of little things that add up to annoying, and a less then totally competitive rental.
      The beach in Southern Shores is not crowded since you have to live/rent there to go (and a lot of the community is retirees who aren't goin to the beach each day), but it is gritty sand and a fairly steep slope into the water.

      The location and the home was very pleasant. Some minor problems but otherwise a wonderful vacation. Always enjoy my vacations with Southern Shores Realty. Hope to be in Outer Banks again next year.

      AWESOME PROPERTY

      This home is amazing. It offers a lot of activities for the whole family. We enjoyed all amentities the house had to offer; from the game room to the outdoor pool, putting green, hot tub, and grill. Also, we loved the decks that wrapped around all levels of the house, the views were breathtaking. The house is a short distance from the beach, and situated in a nice, quiet community. The floor plan of the house was very spacious and convenient. I would highly recommend this vacation rental to anyone looking for a relaxing, but fun getaway.

      This house was perfect. Plenty of things to do and space for everyone. Spent a lot of time on the putting green and in the swimming pool. Also pingpong and pool table put to great use. Kitchen well equipped. Beautiful sunrises and sunsets from the deck. Would recommend in a heart beat!!! Hope to visit again soon!

      Wonderful views

      Wonderful views and great amnenties are what make this home nice.
      We enjoyed our stay. Lots of room and the surround sound even on
      the deck was like being at the drive in movies watching through the
      glass doors. The putting green was fun for young and old. The pool
      was very wide and hot tub inviting. The kitchen was well stocked and
      the bedrooms ample. I would stay again in this house.
