The house was beautiful; the dining room table was big enough to seat 12 people comfortably; and having a bathroom in every room was a big plus! The kitchen size and layout made it easy for three "chefs" to cook together. It was also nice having a downstairs TV room.
We felt the house was too close to the road and the three bedrooms facing the road heard traffic all night long. Although the living area was comfortable and beautifully decorated, seating for watching TV was limited if we all wanted to be together.
The house indicated linens were provided and since we had ordered linen service in the past for another home and had towels included we thought they were included in this home as well, but they were not. Most of the beds were made when we arrived, however some the of bunk beds were not and the packet of sheets left for them did not fit the beds.
We also had some problems working the DVD player.
With regard to the location, one plus was the discovery of a gourmet food store within walking distance of the home. Several of us went to the champagne tasting one night and were able to enjoy it even more since we didn't have to drive home!
Overall we had a wonderful time.

The house is laid out very nice inside. The outside upstairs patio has no stairway to the bottom levels. The deck was slippery when wet from moss growing on it. The dishes were dirty when we checked in. The house is set back too far from the beach with houses on both sides closer to the beach and blocking the view. Did not use the pool due to the weather. Spa was nice although it had sand in it.

The house was wonderful, and the amenities were great. Housekeeping crew left a bit to be desired. They were still cleaning when we checked in (later than allowed by contract), and left several floors unswept and unmopped.

We would highly recommend the Blue Marlin I it is a very comfortable home with plenty of amenities (ice maker, all the pots & pans we needed)liked that each bedroom had a bathroom. Location is great, walk to the pier, drive out to Walmart or groceries, but then, when you are on the beach, it's the Outer Banks! no crowd, beautiful...you are away from it all, but you are close to everything in Southern Shores! SS Realty answered all of our calls/concerns immediately...(the can opener didn't work...not a biggie)This house has a nice layout and everyone was happy! thank you Southern Shores!

This is a wonderful place for a week at the beach. Oceanfront, with great ocean views, the house offers easy access to beach with plenty of beach chairs provided.
The interior is lovely and accommodating, and the kitchen is nicely stocked with all the necessities and amenities, providing a very convenient base for evening meal preparation.
Our group of extended family and friends thought that this house was one of the best we'd stay at over our 20+ years of coming to the Outer Banks. Only regret--we didn't stay for 2 weeks. -

We really enjoyed the house. The view was great. The weather was horrible. We could only use the hot tub. Would like to see the owners put in a gas grill. It was impossible to use the park grill. I recommend not renting sheets unless you like paper ones. Inspite of the weather, we are renting the house again, only in August, due to a family wedding in September.

After staying at this property a number of years, we were tired of having to rent a gas grill every year. Additionally, having used Southern Shores Reality for over 11 years, we will be using a new agency this year. They were able to find us the bigger house we required and worked very hard in meeting our needs. My one call to SSR, got me one property that was very dated. They never called back and/or tried to meet our needs.

Our stay at Blue Marlin I was a beautiful reunion of three families (five adults and seven children)from both coasts. The house was an integral part of the success of the vacation. There was ample space for everyone to fully enjoy themselves and still have space when needed. We appreciated the well-equipped kitchen, large dining table which seated all of us, the lovely pool, private hot tub and, especially, the direct access to the beach. The house was set up to smoothly handle small children and active adults. We hope to repeat the experience again.
I would not hesitate to recommend this house and Southeren Shores Realty. -

This home was immaculate when we first arrived!!! The pool area was amazing and the walkway to the beach directly from our deck was dreamlike!! We loved how easy the beach access was from the home. We did have a bunch of children with us, so for them, the lack of a game area was not the best. There was no pool table or tv room separate for them to run around in during inclement weather. That was the only downfall of the home. Everything else was great. This house is located as soon as you get onto the island so we did not have to sit in the normal horrible traffic to get onto the island! Great location! Great Price! GREAT views!!!!!!!!!!!!
