My family spent a week at this comfortable house and enjoyed the peace and quiet of being off Route 12. A short walk to the beach path made going back and forth to the beach nice and easy. The house was well-equipped and roomy. Slight smell of cats in the entryway but a minor issue. We loved the keyless entry which made arriving and departing super easy. Overall, we had a wonderful experience with Southern Shores Realty and with this particular house.

Excellent features included:
Keyless entry...better than what I expected
Outside shower and toilet
Excellent condtion of furniture (incl clean carpets)
Good sized bedrooms
Proximity to beach (2.5 min casual walk)
Wireless internet!
Our stay was outstanding, and I only offer this one comment as constructive criticism...
There was almost too much "stuff" in the kitchen cabinets, in terms of bowls, plates, plasticware, etc., etc. When we returned from our grocery shopping, there was very little room to store our non-refrigerated goods. Even the shelves in the laundry area were packed. There were a few cabinets on the bottom half of the island... but it was not real convenient. I may have been easier if some of the extra items on the more accessible cabinets where moved to those bottom cabinets leaving room in the upper ones for more commonly used food items. Just an idea.
Overall... Carole's Castle was a great place to stay, and we would highly recommend it to others.

A relaxing place to stay. We spent a lot of time at the pool. The walk to the beach is no problem. 4th street is quiet, it dead ends at the ocean. The house looks and feels like a new house (maybe it is). A 4 star recommendation for the 4 of us that stayed the whole week. We had 3 guests for a few days. No problem. Big house lot's of room. I think the Friday to Friday rental is a plus, that and the pool was why we rented it.

This is a charming and comfortable home with lots of extras which make it an ideal place for entertaining. We particularly liked the 2 master suites and cleanliness of the home. My guests and I had a wonderful stay. The owner's attention to every detail is evident throughout the home. I know you will enjoy your stay as much as we did.

Very clean with all that you'll need to enjoy your beach stay. A great pool and walk to the beach on a private road in less than 5 minutes. This was a wonderful location and great if you have children because of the pool. The bedrooms were spacious and comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed the location and the amenities.

We spent a great week in this very comfortable house. The beach is an easy walk from the house. The house is well-situated for easy access to shopping in Duck, Southern Shores, etc. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub, and the screened porch was perfect for our crab mess; we just hosed off the table and chairs!
It was a pleasure to find the beds made when we arrived. The kitchen is well-equipped with plenty of pots, pans, plates, glassware, utensils.
We love coming to OBX, and this house made us feel right at home.

We rented this house for a week in August. The house was clean and more than large enough for the four of us. My only two complaints is that the hot did not work when we arrived and it took three days for someone to finally fix it and there were not alot of nice chairs and floats to take to the beach with us but those were minor things. We enjoyed the pool very much and loved that we were only a five minute walk from the beach. We would definitely stay here again in the future.
