The location is perfect for convenience to restaurants and activities but yet very private. Access to the beach is a short walk on a private street. We really enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning in the future.

This was a nice house in southern shores - pretty close to the Walmart and Harris Teeter in Kitty Hawk. It was a quick walk to the beach, but you could not see the ocean from the house. There was plenty of room in the house, but the couches and beds were not the most comfortable we've ever had. They had plenty of chairs and toys to take to the beach and their gas grill was a great surprise.

This is a comfortable beach house with 4 nice bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms, nice decks (though it would be nice to be able to go from 1st level deck all the way up to crow's nest on the outside of the house). We LOVED the great Weber gas grill, the hammock, the crow's nest; good amount of beach chairs, umbrellas and toys provided. The beds were just OK, even with the 2 "new feather beds", as the owners indicated in their journal. The kitchen was stocked with only the very basics - we had to go out and purchase wooden spoons for cooking b/c there wasn't anything like that provided. The kitchen faucet leaks badly all over the backsplash behind it and onto the side counters when it's turned on completely. You can tell that it's been caulked many times, but that isn't working. Refrig., sink, dishwasher and stove are all right next to each other, so working in the kitchen is cramped in that area. (For instance, if you're loading dishes into the d/w, you can't put the detergent in without closing the d/w door to be able to open the sink base cabinet to get the detergent! And if you're not tall enough, you can't unload glassware from the d/w and put it away in the upper corner cabinet b/c you have to reach over the d/w door! It's very awkward.) I was surprised there wasn't a clothesline provided outside to hang swimsuits and towels. Distance from beach is fine, but that part of the beach is pretty crowded b/c you get the "traffic" from all of Hickory Trail, that end of Ocean Blvd., Circle Drive houses AND the people who walk down Hickory Trail from the Dunes area. I would say it's one of the most populous beach areas of Southern Shores.

We want to stay there again next year at the same time. It was well furnished with every thing we needed...just wish the week could have been l onger! Please put us down for next year. We especially loved all the porches and decks.
