This was one of the best houses we've stayed in at the Outer Banks. The location was great, both in relation to shopping and restaurants but also the beach. The house is set up very nice for multiple families and good for young children. We were especially pleased with the outdoor shower and the area around it - very clean and nice to use. The kitchen was very well equipped except for the microwave - we couldn't do microwave popcorn, but at least it worked for warming up food. We would definitely rent this house again.

With one half of our family on the East Coast and the other half on the West
Coast, we decided to vacation this year on the Outer Banks, which none of us
had ever visited before. It proved to be an ideal location. Our house on the
beach was perfect for six adults--two grandparents, two adult children and
their spouses--and four grandsons, all under the age of five. The kids were
never bored and the adults managed to find a little time to relax. We explored
the beach, the aquarium, the local eateries, and the miniature golf courses.
The kids are already clamoring to return. -

Southern Shores Reality treated my family wonderfully. The house was ready at 9:45 in the morning instead of 4:00pm. I had three little girls that head been in the truck since midnight the night before, so this was a major blessing. The house was great, the carpet and floors were a little dated, but overall it was clean. The AC in the main parts of the house stopped working the first night there, but it was pretty mild the week we were there so this was not a major problem. Beach access and parking were great. The outside decks great. The icemaker in the front room made my beer and bait very happy. I will stay here again.

This is the second house we rented through Southern Shores Realty and our third stay in OBX. Our last house was located in Corolla. The location was what we had wanted = on the beach yet close enough to grocery stores. The house met our needs as it accommodated our family very nicely. My only negative comment is that the kitchen appliances, while adequate, did not work great. Also, the carpet throughout was very dated. Compared to the house we rented in Corolla, this was not as nice. Overall, I would give this house only a guarded recommendation, given the price.

We rented Simmons because it was the right size for 4 adults and 3 children and we wanted a property that was close to the beach. It was perfect. Not only was it close to the beach, which was what we needed with 3 kids, the youngest being 3 years old, but it had a wonderful deck overlooking the beach and ocean. We sat out there day and night when we weren't on the beach.
The bedrooms were clean and nicely appointed. The living room and dining room were very spacious and also nicely appointed. There was even a very nice "eat-in" den with a TV and bar with a "pass-through" to the kitchen. The kitchen was the weakest link and could use some TLC and better cookware.
The porch was lovely and often used. All in all, we loved the property and would recommend it highly.
