Our family truly enjoyed all the features of our vacation home in Southern Shores. The layout allowed for different age groups to migrate to their favorite area(ie gameroom, entertainment room, pool, hot tub or just sitting on the wrap around porches. The central location of Southern Shores was a plus with getting around to other areas of interest. The description of having a dvd library was weak and we could not play any of the cds we had brought with us. Everything else about the home was a major enjoyment. Thanks from all of us.

We had a Great time in this well appointed home. The home was very comfortable for us,(six sisters)We each had our own space for quiet times and there was plenty of room for us to enjoy each other. We take a Sister Week, or long weekend, together, no one else just us, I truly believe that out of the twenty years that we do this... This was absolutely one of the best. Long walks on the beach,was amazing,and sunsets were magnificent!

We had a really nice vacation at this home. I really liked the two separate living areas in the house. The house was also in really convenient location. It was close enough to walk to the beach every morning and also just a short distance to do any necessary shopping. I would definitely stay here again.

South Bound was the perfect place for my family to stay in late December. We flew down from Maine the day after Christmas and were very excited to find South Bound awaiting us. The size of the house was perfect for my husband, our two girls, my parents and my brother and his family. We had room to spare. The kids enjoyed the pool table and the hot tub on the back deck. We cooked in quite a bit and enoyed the fully stocked kitchen. They had every tool we needed. It was wonderful being so close to the beach...not a long walk for the kids. I would highly recommend this rental property to anyone.

We had our family reunion in the OBX. This house was perfect. We were close to the beach, had lots of room to sprawl, and enjoyed the vistas with family from afar. We are planning on returning in 2010 for an even bigger family reunion.

The house was spacious, the bedrooms were nice and were divided by central gathering areas which gave significant privacy. Downsides, the stairwell was treacherous - slippery with treads that seemed to slope down - easy to fall. The volleyball court was absolutely unmaintained. Briars and weeds extended to the top of the net. maintenance was called repeatedly to rectify. They showed up days later with a brush hog, chopped everything down and left the briars, burrs and thorny vines in the sand, rendering the court useless. The rugs and furniture in the downstairs game room were dated and soiled.

Fabulous house with a few exceptions!
The good: 3 nice sized Jacuzzi tubs, large master bedrooms, fantastic second floor TV area, good location.
The not-so-good: Pool doesn't get enough sun and is very cold. Gameroom too small for playing pool. Stairway is somewhat treacherous. The raised floor of the kitchen and dinging area is hazardous for toddlers!
