VANice home, but the pool was a bear!

The layout of the home was wonderful and the furnishings were lovely. We really enjoyed ourselves. The main issue we had with this home is that it is surrounded by trees and the pool was constantly full of bugs, pine needles, and an ungodly amount of pollen. We had to spend over an hour each day to get it into swimming condition. Also, the pool only has 1 filter that did not seem to be working properly. Southern Shores had a company come at the beginning of our stay and once midweek, but said we had to pay $45 each for any additional cleanings. For this reason, I would not stay at this house again---too many other homes with pools that do not have these issues.

Cleveland, OHNice home....but starting to show it's age

Stayed this past August for 1 week. Location of home is pretty convienent to the beach, shopping, highway.
Overall house is fairly nice. However for the amountof money we paid I would have expected a little more. First off, the refridgerator (as someone had posted earlier) is reall on it's last leg. Barely kep food or drinks cold. Some of the furniture has seem better days with broken drawers, couches that sag and remotes for all the tv's were either broken or missing batteries.
Also the house itself overall had some problems. Many of the lights in the house were missing lightbulbs or were burned out. The liner on the inground pool is pulling away and ripped in mnay parts. The bikes they provided were a joke as they couldn't be ridden and were very unsafe. The grill they have basically fell apart during our stay and there is a pool table but hard to play pool when both cue sticks are broken! Also housekeeping was poor. Didn't get all the sheets we asked for. Called and nobody even came to bring us what we needed.
Again, maybe i am being picky, but for the amount of money we spent I would have expected less issues. -

This was the first visit to the Outer Banks for
most of our party. My children and grandchildren
who go away frequently said " it was the best
vacation they ever had." We did practically
nothing, just relaxed.
We had no agenda, and we only visited the beach
once. We love the pool experience. In addition,
we had flown in from Massachusetts, where it had
rained the entire week. Our weather was fabulous.
The fact that the house was beautiful and spacious
was a plus because we spent so much time there.
The only negatives-the refrigerator/freezer was not
working well, and the rollers are off the
dishwasher basket. -

We chose this vacation rental because we needed a home with a large gathering area for a family Thanksgiving reunion and an elevator for more senior family members. It was beautifully decorated, accommodated several cars, and the design of the living space was exceptional. Very comfortable! We were just a few blocks from the beach and enjoyed every aspect of our stay!

We needed to get away after a very difficult time and this was the RX for us. This house is beautiful and wonderful! Comfortable yet elegant. The pool, screened in porch and the kitchen made our life relaxing and lovely.
The beds were comfortable and it was a vacation that was wonderful
