The house was nice and provided all amenities you could need from utensils, to dishtowels to dog bowls. Owners provided a lot information about all local services & restaurants. Everything in house was labeled, i.e. kitchen drawers, light switches, which was very helpful. Good pet friendly home close to the beach. The only thing that was a little outdated was the refrigerator, but that's it. I would definitely stay here again. SSRealty was also pleasant to work with and I like the small supply of toilet paper, towels, soap etc.... that is left upon your arrival to help you start your stay - very thoughtful.

The only blip in our otherwise wonderful week (first time with SSRealty) was the curt greeting we received by an office staff (I have shared these views). I just hope that she understands that when a family is so looking forward to their week at the beach, a little friendliness would go a long way. She was probably as tired as we were, but her job is to welcome us to town. Anyway, the follow-up from Melanie Mazza was superb, as was our entire week at the beach and in this cottage. We want the more rustic type of cottage and this fits our bill to a "T". Thank you to the owners for offering such a charming home and for MM for her kind and courteous 2nd welcome and then our checkout.

We have stayed in a number of houses from Southern Shores to Corolla over the last 20 years, and although this is an older, smaller house, we all felt that it was the coziest, best-maintained house that we have ever had. It was also the best stocked, with plenty of cookware, tableware, deck chairs, boogie boards, beach chairs and umbrellas, bikes, books, games, and movies (VHS). For the first time in all of our visits to the Outer Banks we really didn't need to bring half the stuff that we brought. The only bad thing that I can really say about the house is that the driveway is very tight, and it took some maneuvering to turn my full-sized pickup around. The beach is a very short walk away, you can hear the surf at night from your bedroom, and the screen porch and upper deck are both great places to relax. We did have problems with the smoke alarm during our stay, but Southern Shores had their maintenance man (a very pleasant guy) there to replace it in very short order.

We enjoyed our stay at this house. Unfortunately, the weather didn't cooperate and we left 2 days early. I selected this house for its location close to the beach, and that it allowed pets. I discovered that sand burrs were everywhere except on the beach. So, I always had to walk my dog on the beach to avoid her stepping on the sand burrs. She loved the beach and it was close by, so that was OK. Unfortunately, as the storm got closer, the water rose to the bottom of the dunes and I didn't feel it was safe to walk so close to such rough surf. Also, the local schools shut down. That's when I decided to leave (2 days early). Other than that, the house was great. It had more amenities (such as movies, puzzles, books, bicycles, beach chairs) than I expected. They also provided some paper products and the house had dish soap, etc. which was nice. The only thing it lacked was a corkscrew!!

We try to do a mini vacation in the fall and have stayed in different houses over the last few years. We absolutely loved Aquarius. It was close to the beach. The house was very clean and had sufficient ammenities. We loved the basketball hoop outside and enjoyed taking afternoon naps in the hammock. We hope to rent there again soon.

This property's proximity to the beach and within a quiet street setting is ideal for a small family. The home has plenty of room inside and large expanses of outside decking and enclosed decking to enjoy. We were fortunate enough to view Fourth of July fireworks from the roof-top deck!
In addition to being fully supplied with the household necessities, the home provided games, beach chairs, bicycles, and a garage-level pingpong table. We often rode the bikes along the nearby path in toward the town or farther out to visit the shops.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend this property.
