We spent Thanksgiving here last year. The kitchen is fully equipped and the owners have provided everything needed for easy holiday meal preparation. The living room opens onto the deck with easy access to the beach. I've gone to the Outer Banks for many years and this house while not the newest is the most comfortable house I've rented so far. The house is close to everything. One of my favorite features is the keyless access which allowed us to skip the usual registration process and allows every member of my family to come and go without rationing out the usual two keys.

The house was great! This house has more nooks and crannies! If you like the warmth of knotty pine wood, fully stocked kitchen, easy access to the beach, nice deck area for sun and cocktails, beach toys/chairs, beautiful sunrise, plenty of room for twelve people, plenty of towels and linens, friendly service from Southern shores people then this is the place for you! Do not let the outside fool you (could use some elbow grease), the inside is nice and clean. We can not wait to rent next year!!!

Interacting with Souther Shores was very good.
Floor plan of home was great, just realize that this property is over 30 years old. Some of the fixtures need to be upgraded and some window shades replaced. eleictic breaker kept tripping for the upstairs guest bathroom. Lots of cooking utensiles. Great views. -

Our family really enjoyed this home. The wrap around deep porch with great ocean views and the ability to capture a breeze just about any time of the day was by far the best feature. Plenty of space for everyone to spread out and relax. This made up for bathrooms that were a little outdated and had to be shared between bedrooms (not always so convenient). The kitchen was well equiped and spacious. A separate game room would have been nice if the weather was not great for outdoors. I would also like to see them add a hottub.

The owner of the property seems to be letting the place run down. We have rented in consecutive years, and things that were broken and reported last year were still broken this year. For example, last year, one of the shades in the master bedroom was not working. When reported last year, were told repair was to happen the week after we left. Shade still broken this year. Problem: Sun rises directly into room. Same for master bedroom ceiling fan. Same for other items. Kitchen is ancient. It's a shame, house has great location & great bones, but is in decline.
