What a great cottage! Many cottages we have rented in the past have been sparsely decorated with odds and ends furniture, not Powell's Point! The decor was amazing, plenty of kitchen supplies, comfortable furniture and much more! The kids loved the bikes and basketball goal. Mom and Dad loved the many decks, especially the cozy screened-in one. The Southern Shore Beaches were clean and uncrowded-just a short drive or 15 minute walk from the cottage. Powell's Point is great for large families-plenty of bathrooms, and room to play. The dogs enjoyed the fenced in area! The dining table was huge-plenty of elbow room for all! The only thing we would change is heavier curtains in the upstairs master bedroom-unless you like to greet the sun bright and early each morning!

We know the owners and had seen the cottage before we rented it which was a huge advantage. It has a lot of room for family members to do different activities at the same time. I like the fact that dogs are allowed to stay because this saves boarding cost while you are on vacation. The many decks and screened in porch give you a great place to sit and enjoy the view or read. You are close to Duck and Nags Head and there is easy access to the home without having to use Route 12 (avoiding traffic). I highly recommend this home unless you have a problem with steps because the master bedroom is on the third floor. This home is beautifully decorated and I had a great vacation with my family here.

Powell's Point was the first home that we rented in the outer banks....We are a family of 5 and this house is one of the best. The house has everything that you could need. It is in a GREAT LOCATION. Easy access to the highway, shopping and the beach. The beach access has a life guard and that was a BIG issue for us. The decor in this home is very nice and the hot tub was terrific. The house is equipped with a large selection of beach chairs and bikes. We would strongly recommend this home to any family.
This was a great house for an adult family of four, 2 spouses and a toddler. We stayed a whole week at Powell's Point and didn't want to leave. Kitchen is large for family dinners and fully equipped. Lots of games, toys and books. Large decks and screen porch for outdoor fun. Quieter and more pedestrian friendly than Nag's head/further down the highway.Favorite features were the proximity to beach (a very short walk), full beach equipment, outside shower and proximity to grocery store, take-out, small shops. Can't wait to return!
