Peabody's Down Under was a nice home for a larger family. The one thing I would caution about is the fact that the downstairs bedroom's are accessed directly from the outside from underneath the house, no hallway inside downstairs leading to them. So if you have younger children, plan on adults staying in the other bedroom downstairs with them. You go directly into the bunk bedroom from outside and the second bedroom is through that one to the left. Has a nice bathroom to share also.
No real complaints, small things. More like maintenance issues, burned out light on deck leading into house, cable wire going across a doorway(bathroom) in that downstairs bedroom area,a tripping hazard etc. The lay out of the home otherwise was great and we could tell the owners put their heart and soul in to it. We enjoyed it very much. Very easy beach access which was important to us. Southern Shores was helpful with our questions, etc and did the best they could to help us. Looking forward to going down there again ! -

We were so impressed by the spaciousness of the common areas. With 8 adults & a Golden Retriever, there was never a cramped feeling. The kitchen had every appliance, cooking, serving & eating utensil known to man. The beach was only steps away, but the deck offered a great beach feel without the sand. The neighborhood was quiet & off the main road. People & dogs enjoyed walking & biking unhampered by excess traffic. In short, it was perfect!

First off the place reeked of dog pee. I guess that is a hazard of renting a place where pets are allowed. Secondly, there was an obviously known water leak rendering the ground floor unusable. I say known, as maintanance had industrial fans on the floor to dry it out. They were NOT working! No one ever told us about this, and the entire week we were there no one came to check it or repair it. Fortunately we did not need the bedrooms on that floor.

Lovely older beach home. Very close to the beach and fully equipped. The only things our family did not like were the furniture was not comfortable and beds were terrible.
