As city dwellers, we love being able to get away from it all to our home just a 2-hour drive from NYC. As an artist and food photographer, I couldn't imagine a better sanctuary than North Fork. With its nearby wineries, farms, antique shops, restaurants and beaches, Southold is the absolute best place to relax. We absolutely love it here - and hope you will too.

My husband and I were totally taken with this delightful house as the perfect place for a family vacation. The house is spotless beautifully renovated and well cared for. The rooms are large, light and airy, and the beds are wonderfully comfortable. The yard is fenced in and surrounded by lovely gardens. A large porch extends off the living room, and is furnished with a gas grill, chairs and table.The garden porch has a wonderful swing- a great place to snuggle up with a good book. The bay-front beach is steps from the house, and a perfect beach for young children with its calm waters, while the beach on the LI Sound is minutes away by car. We took excursions to the close-by village of Southold, a charming and small shopping area with some lovely eating places. The larger town of Greenport is a short drive away and has a marvelous merry-go-round the kids love. We also took a short ferry ride over to Shelter Island, to tour this beautiful, longstanding vacation spot for New Yorkers. Orient Point is a twenty minute drive further out on the North Fork. Vineyards and farms dot the entire area, and restaurants abound. It's hard to believe such a beautiful, peaceful vacation spot exists so close to NYC. The owners of this home are gracious and helpful and have a flair for decorating. You can't go wrong with this vacation home.
