Thunder Bay, Canada++first rate ocean location despite not being on a sandy beach

Thank you Tamara for this beautiful cottage. My husband and I found it to be the most ideal of quiet, isolated and romantic of island properties. If you doubt the brochures with their ideal locations for quietude then contact Tamara! While Russell Island is geographically separated from Spanish Wells it is almost negligible in reality. Yet, it give one the feeling of being in a totally separate world.
P.S. go for the golf carts to get into town. They may cost a bit more but they are fun and practical for groceries and trips into town. Actually, everyone on the islands seem to use a golf cart as their main mode of transport!! However, there are always the well-maintained bikes to use whenever and however you want, but we used them mainly for going into Spanish Wells to cruise around and to get the local ice cream:) -

We have never had a better vacation. The house, the Island, the booking process and the assistance and information we were provided could not have been improved on, Tamara left nothing for us to do but relax and have fun.
Book with this company at any of the rentals they have and you will be looked after :)
Thank You Very Much

Our stay at the Pink Hibiscus was wonderful. Russell Island/Spanish Wells are very unique and it was a great location for relaxing and unwinding. We did day trips to Harbour Island, Preacher's Cave and Eleuthera. The information folder provided at the cottage was extremely helpful!
If you need to be entertained and enjoy touristy locales, this is not the place for you but if you want privacy and a true vacation "away from it all", this is the place!
The transportation arrangements the owner made for us really helped make the trip a worry-free pleasure from the minute we stepped off the plane!

I highly recommended this place. The owner of the place, Tamara, was really helpful to prepare your trip in the Bahamas. She answered to our questions with pleaty of details which it was really appreciated!
The house was full-equip, with dishwasher, washer and dryer too. The kitchen is big, the living room is confortable and the bedroom perfect for a familly or for a couple + 2 friends. All we needed was there to make our confort excellent! We enjoyed the kayak and the bicycle. :)
The caretakers, Ryan and Nelly, was also fabulous! They were there to help us and to guarantie our trip was good! Because we came on December 23 and the grocery store was close for 3 days, they proposed us to buy some food before we came to the house!
The only disappointment was the beach in front of the house. It's not sand but rock, but the nice beach that we could see on the picture is less than 5 minutes of walk so it is ok!
There is a lot to see in Russell Island and Spanish Wells but more than a week could be a little bit too much if you don't like too much a calm place. We were there for 6 days and we never get bored there, even if we are young (22 to 25 y-o). Noticed that we had one day on Harbour Island and a second one on Eleuthera.
Well, the Pink Hibiscus is faboulus and I highly recommended it. Beaches around are incredible: it is empty. There is no tourism so the original charm is still there. It is the good place to refill yours batteries!! ;) -

The owners were awesome with helping us plan our arrival to Spanish Wells. We were greeted warmly by the Caretaker when we arrived to the Spanish Wells dock and they were very helpful in explaining the area to us and guiding us to the Cottage. The home was very clean and had everything we needed to make us feel comfortable. The oceanfront cottage was beautiful and we immensely enjoyed the kayaking and snorkeling out front. We had so much fun touring the island in our rented golf cart, and we also took a day trip to Harbour Island that was fun. The area of Russell Island - Spanish Wells has a small town feel and the locals are very friendly. We can't wait to return to this cottage next year.

We had a very nice stay at Pink Hibiscus and Tamara was a gracious hostess, though we never met. The place is simply kept but with all amenities needed to enjoy a quiet stay and be self sufficient with meal prep and use of her gear. Two bicycles made the commute to town area nice and was a built in exercise routine for us. The choice of single or double kayaks was also a great alternative for on the water activity, though shared with her other adjacent rental-for us this worked out well but that will depend on who is there. We did some fishing on the nearby flats and even landed my first bonefish while there, but the flats can only accessed on the lower half of the tide. All in all, we loved the house and area but January proved not to be the ideal time to visit as the wind howled and temps were on the cool side, limiting swimming and water activities. The house was great!

We stayed with my son et my husband 7 days in this home. The Pink Hibiscus Cottage is very pretty. The morning when we wake up immediatly we swin in the sea and we had the sea just for us. It is so chic! After we took our breakfast, it was very quiet. The house is very comfortable. We did Kayak, swim, etc...
We appreciated the quiet, the beautifull location.
We rented a golf car to do courses et see the island it is very fun.
The owner Tamara is very nice, and she organized all that we spend good time and that our holidays are the best. We are very happy about these holidays. Really I recommend this adress.
