Located on a half mile of pristine, sandy beach with incredible swimming and a reef at one end that is ideal for snorkeling, Nelson Gay occupies two acres on a beach front site on the outskirts of Speightstown with spacious landscaped gardens and a stunning swimming pool. Originally built in the 1960's for a US Ambassador and constructed entirely of coral stone in the grand Palladian manner, Nelson Gay retains the charm of a bygone era. The property consists of the main house which contains 5 bedrooms, a cottage with 1 bedroom and by special arrangement, the media room in the main house has a day bed and there are also 2 self-contained Chattel Houses.

2 covered terraces on the north and south wing bedrooms offer additional privacy and comfort, while the living room is open and airy with 14ft. ceilings. This family friendly villa has numerous relaxing and dining areas and an elegant garden gazebo equipped with wet bar and fridge. A large area immediately in front of the house is roped off with buoys for safe swimming.

The staff and Villa Manager will meet every need for a relaxing and exclusive family vacation.

  The food was completely un-remarkable, the staff was pleasant and friendly but untrained and very un-attentive. We often had to hunt them down for morning coffee and evening cocktails. The house was impressive in history and design but shabby and in need of TLC. Toilet paper (4 rolls in one bath none in the next) tissue Paper.. 1 box in a 5 bedroom villa? Septic tank truck visited one afternoon for several hours, the smell of sewage and diesel smoke drove us out of the house and to the beach. The manager double billed us for food and beverages until we did the math and showed her she was billing us twice. She apologized and corrected it after a brief protest.

  A wonderful old villa with a ton of character, beautiful grounds, awesome beach and view. The chef was excellent and did everything we asked. His blend of seasonings on fish, pork, and chicken were outrageous. The food and bevererage bill was extremely higher than in Jamacia last year.....almost 4x...the staff was just okay. Staff not very attentive until the last day or two... Accomodations were great, comfortable, clean and neat. Staff could have done a better job sprucing up the grounds each day or twice a day.
