Simply one of the world's great vacation rental properties! An 8 bedroom Caribbean mansion directly on a beautiful stretch of white sand beach.

The Great House accommodates 16 guests – eight in the main house and eight in the four chattel houses. However, an additional four guests may be accommodated for an additional fee.

The main house’s ground floor has a spacious entrance hall, reception rooms, Piano Room, wrap-around covered terraces and one bedroom suite. The sweeping staircase leads up to a further three bedroom suites. All the suites are individually furnished and the beds, dressed in Ralph Lauren linen, are s...umptuously comfortable. The three upstairs suites have individual balconies, while the ground floor suite opens onto a cobbled courtyard.

The four chattel houses are arranged in two pairs – the Pink Chattels and the Blue Chattels, taking their names from the colours of their linens and fabrics. Each pair interlinks, making them ideal for families with younger children. The chattel houses open out onto their own verandas, with the gardens beyond. Like the suites in the main house, all the chattels have en suite bathrooms with walk-in showers, air conditioning and safes.

The Great House’s 30 ft Grady White pleasure boat, with twin engines, is both highly seaworthy and very comfortable. It is manned by the villa’s boatman and is available to guests throughout their stay from 9 am to 5 pm, for just the price of fuel. The boat has an onboard shower and bathroom, a cooler that can be packed with refreshments, and a supply of cold towels. Watersport fans will love it for waterskiing and wakeboarding, or towing the villa’s Great Big Mable, Half Pipe Tube or Six Man Sled. It can also be used to take guests to another beach for a picnic, snorkeling, fishing, turtle feeding or as a water taxi.

In addition, The Great House also has a single and double kayak and a Laser sailboat with trailer that guests are welcome to use.

Meals

The food is one of The Great House’s greatest pleasures and our extensive menus genuinely cater for all tastes. Breakfast includes everything from fresh fruit to pancakes, smoked salmon and eggs to order. For lunch and dinner we prepare an ever-changing menu of freshly cooked dishes, followed by an assortment of desserts and cheeses. Between meals, too, we serve a parade of refreshing snacks such as mini-ice-creams, sorbets, cookies, cheese straws and marinaded olives.

Our culinary approach is based on sourcing local ingredients wherever possible. We serve locally caught fish and rely heavily on the island’s seasonal fruit. We also prepare and adapt local recipes, and give classic dishes a Barbadian twist by substituting local produce for some of the ingredients. The result is a culinary experience that combines the flavour of Barbados with the best of international cuisine.

Many guests, particularly those with particular nutritional requirements, tell us they have never felt so reassured about the quality of their food when away from home.
