Vancouver, BCBest location in Split Old Town!
Left on 10/18/2012 for a stay in September 2012
This lovely apt.is well appointed, with modern appliances and very tastefully decorated. We spent 6 nights in Split and couldn't have asked for a better location! It's about a 10 min. walk from both the ferry or bus station (there's an airport bus every 30 min.to and from the main bus station, I think). Nela, who met us and let us into the apt. was so gracious and helpful. All the main sights and great shopping surround the apartment. Would definitely stay here again if we are fortunate enough to go back to Split!

What a well kept secret, 4 star plus, thigs look a little odd from the street door, but once inside you will not be disappointed. It meets all the criteria for location locationb locatiobn.
The facilities in the kitchen, lounge nd bathroom are first class, we had a fantastic time and will definately be back. Iva was great to deal with and Nela tbe property manager was absolutely charming. Money well spent if you are planning to stay ibn Split for a while. -

VancouverVery convenient location

The Emporer's Retreat was an excellent place to stay. There were only a couple of small hitches. We were expecting to do our laundry when we were there but apparently the people just before us had broken it. The manager did offer to take our laundry home and do it herself which was very pleasant. We could not get the t.v. to work nor could she. Also, we cooked dinner once and couldn't figure out how to work the stove. Instructions for both the t.v. and stove would have been nice. Otherwise, a modern lovely place to stay.

Since Mrs. Blazecka stayed in the apartment, the washing machine was fixed.
During the stay of Mrs. Blazecka, our property manager actually washed, dried and folded the laundary for her. Unfortunately,
when Mrs. Blazecka stayed in the apartment the washing maschine could not be repaired on time before their arrival, but instead we offered full wash and fold service to her.
The instructions for stove, and all the other appliances were always in one of the drawers, and our property manager is aware of this now.

Bristol, UKTruly fit for an Emperor
Left on 01/27/2011 for a stay in August 2010
We picked the Emperor's Retreat on the basis of other Flipkey reviews, and boy, were we glad. From the first moment that Iva and her husband met us in Split's main square, we felt welcome. The apartment is literally 30-40 feet from the square, so conveniently central. (Don't worry, when inside, there is little noise to indicate its location - even at night.)
The apartment is spotless throughout, and is decorated and furnished to a very high standard - from my extensive experience of hotels, I'd rate it 4 star plus. I would highly recommend this apartment to stay in while visiting Split - indeed my wife and I hope to return in the summer of 2011! -

melbourneGreat apartment right in the old town
Left on 12/28/2010 for a stay in August 2010
We stayed here in august 2010 for 7 days. It was easy to arrange, on the day we rang the manager and she came and met us and showed us the apartment and gave us the keys. She was very helpful and always contactable by phone. The apartment is right in the old part of town, it can be a little noisy but it has shutters on all windows. The aircon/cable tv/kitchen was all great. The weather was amazing and it was a very relaxing holiday. I can recommend this apartment and town, all very laid back.

London UKAmazing Split
Left on 04/19/2010 for a stay in April 2010
I have recently visited Split and to my amazement I discovered a very well preserved Roman City with its ancient walls and temples, that survived nearly 2000 years some intact.
We stayed in an apartment ritht in the center of this city. The apartment was another wonderful surprise. It was situated right in the middle of that Roman city, and facing the main square with its restaurants and shops. It was a delightful location from where we could explore this amazing city. The apartment itself was build into a stone house, which, I suppose dates back to Roman times, judging by the intricate stone art on the interior walls of the apartment. Yet there was all luxury and comfort that is needed for a modern traveler, a/c, cable TV, cool bathroom and kitchen, containing even washing and drying machines. We had a wonderful time there. We had all comforts in the middle of this romantic city. We loved our stay there.
