Description from the owner
Experience the luxury of a completely modern apartment in the charm of a rustic 15th century estate house. Enjoy this peaceful retreat with daily walks to medieval Spoleto (15 minutes) and in the surrounding countryside. Or use it as a base for car or train trips to Assissi, Spello, and throughout Umbria (parking available on-site).
The apartment is decorated with numerous pieces of family antiques, locally made furniture -such as an iron-wrought bed- and some paintings, objects and books gathered through my travels, i.e. Southern France, Ethiopia, Poland.
From the garden, there are postcard views of the medieval town of Spoleto....Read more

Additional Location Information
When I looked for a place to put down my suitcases I decided on Italy, which in itself hosts more than half of all UNESCO classified sites worldwide, and is incontestably one of the major food and wine destinations worldwide. What attracted me to Spoleto was its rich history, the Spoleto ‘Festival dei due mondi’- an arts and literature festival more than 50 years old-, the diversity of hiking possibilities and parks nearby, and the proximity to two international airports in Perugia (1h) and Rome (2hs by car)
My apartment has parking. It also has easy access to the train station, where you can take the train to Rome (1h 45), Assisi (40 min), Florence (2hs 45) or smaller villages.

Austin, TexasIt's an ideal vacation spot and truly made our trip feel like an

This apartment was perfect for our stay in Spoleto. I cannot recommend it enough. The apartment is just outside of town, about a mile from the main road. The house has a spectacular view of Spoleto and the countryside around it. It feels private and romantic, but it's still convenient.
The walk into town is not far, and there are nearby bus stops if you prefer not to walk. The bus was definitely helpful when we needed to get to the train station with luggage. The grocery store is also nearby. Walking back to the apartment with groceries was no problem.
The apartment has beautiful tile floors, great artwork. The kitchen has all new appliances and is fully equipped, and the bathrooms are clean and modern. In one there is a bathtub and a shower in the other. The tub is extra long and feels very luxurious. The beds are also very comfortable. The apartment was spotless and stocked with everything you could need. There is even a washer for clothes.
There's a nice patio where you can enjoy morning coffee. We enjoyed an outdoor lunch one day. Truly great to enjoy wine while on the patio looking over Spoleto.
We really appreciated the little extras, like the Spoleto and Umbria maps and travel guides. Just like the town of Spoleto, the neighbors were very friendly. We definitely felt at home here. It was the highlight on our trip in Italy, which is saying a lot considering all the wonderful Italian sites we visited. -

New York, NYLovely home in a fantastic part of Umbria
Left on 09/25/2012 for a stay in September 2012
We enjoyed this lovely apartment right outside Spoleto. The views were amazing, the renovations were meticulous and the location was perfect. It is convenient to all that Spoleto offers as well as surrounding towns and national parks. The kitchen is modern and has every applicance you could possibly need and the bathrooms are spa-like. The supermarket nearby is excellent with wonderful produce and meats. The apartment is walkable to the city center but not if you have young children/stroller. However, it was a quick drive to the parking area and we could be in the market square in less than ten minutes. Terrific flat and great value.
