Central Spoleto, just 3 minutes stroll to the heart of the historic centre of Spoleto ie Piazza Liberta. Within easy walking distance of shops, bars and restaurants. And, the supermarket, outside the walls of mediaeval Spoleto, is just 10 mins, by foot, or 2 mins, by car.
Central Spoleto is in the very middle of Italy and staying here, you are close to the train station, from where you can get to almost anywhere in Italy. Or, you can take the car for day trips. Rome is a mere 1 hour by car or 1 hour 20 mins by train.

Wonderful apartment with a view of the rolling Umbria countryside and the city at our doorstep. The experience was enhanced by our hosts Norma and Laurie. Laurie picked us up at the station on our arrival and dropped us off at departure, left us a chilled bottle of wine and assorted munchies in the fridge, and helped us find a car rental. In addition, we had one of our most delightful Spoletino meal prepared in a countryside farm. Our fellow diners, from the us, UK and aus were engaging travelers and we all loved the experience. I recommend this apartment/experience to others who enjoy being pampered.

We wanted an urban based family holiday in comfortable accommodation and this fitted the bill perfectly.
Laurie and Norma were extremely helpful from my initial email enquiry until the last day of our stay at Penthouse on the Park.
The appartment was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The kitchen area was a little cramped but was more than adequate for making simple meals. The rest of the living/dining/sleeping space was lovely.
The appartment is not far from small shops in the old town or is a 15 minute walk from a supermarket. We managed very well without a car for two weeks. Buses to the station run by regularly or it is a 25 minute walk. -

The service from pre-booking stage right through to arrival/support/departure was first class - couldn't have been more helpful, but not in an intrusive way. The apartment provided most of what you are looking for in a holiday property, although a number of Sky TV channels were not subscribed to and the broadband access was intermittent. The apartment is in a fabulous location and we adored Spoleto. The recommendations for eating out were spot-on; many good quality restaurants in the vicinity! Local swimming pools were great and easily accessible. Spoleto is well situated for touring the Umbrian countryside and there were many beautiful villages within 15/20 minutes drive. Direct train access to Rome from Spoleto was also a big plus for us. Overall a very good holiday apartment which we would go back to.

While I would like to keep this one a secret, it's really too great not to share! The space was a comfortable place to base our Italian trip from, allowing us a space to spend the evenings after our infant had gone to bed, and was located right adjacent to the city center. While we were there, the temperature was in the high 30s, and the air conditioning was a lifesaver. I am looking forward to staying here again when we return to Umbria.

This was my first trip to Italy and to Spoleto. I traveled with a great friend (Sue) and our stay at the Penthouse on the Park exceeded our expectations. The location was excellent; just a short walk and your in the city center where all the shops, great restaurants and cafe/bars are. The uppper terrace provided a gorgeous 360degree view of the hillside olive groves, hay fields, and pretty villas. Alot of time was spent just gazing out on the hillside with a glass of wine. The apartment was spacious, comfortable and well stocked. While some have mentioned the noice it proved not to be an issue as I am use to living in a city.
Laurie was wonderous! He arrived quickly at train staition to pick us up, toured us around town to show off his city, provided many tips on where to eat and drink, and was a very charming man. I was especially impressed with is willingness to make certain we were enjoying ourselves. He was always just a text away... After one week, he again transported us to Strettura (just outside Spoleto) to Castrum Resort for our second week. Without him, transport would of had to have been arranged and most likely expensive. Finally, he gathered us at the end of our stay to take us to the train. Truely amazing and unheard of in the States. Thank you - Thank you Laurie!!! And while I did not meet Norma, our email converstations prior to arrival where very helpful and booking was very easy! Thank you both for all the help; you made this holiday very easy to arrange and enjoy.
Finally, I can not leave out the opportunity we were presented with to have dinner in the countryside with Norma and Laurie's friends Daniella and Luciano. Unsure of what the evening would entail, we were intrigued. In fact, it turned out to be a dinning experience rivaling anything else. Multiple courses were served at a very casual pace allowing us to savor the flavors as well as enjoy converstation with the other guests from all over the world (New Zealand, Belgium, and USa). Truely a great Umbrian dining experience!

Laurie goes out of his way to make sure your arrival in Spoleto is as easy as possible. The apartment is clean and central to the centre of Spoleto. We enjoyed very much two of the restaurants suggested by Laurie and Norma. The apartment has a lovely terrace which is perfect for breakfast or pre dinner drinks (weather permitting). A little noisy with doors open in the apartment leaving the living area a little dark.

We very much enjoyed our stay in Penthouse on the Park in Spoleto. We thought the accomodations were very nice and a great value. We had more than enough space for the the three of us, which included two adults and a teenage daughter. We enjoyed sitting on the roof top deck at night; watching the stars and taking in the cool night breeze! We also thought the location was very convenient as it was a very short walk into the town center. While we had read about some traffic noise prior to booking, it did not deter us from staying at this location. As it turned out, we did not even notice the noise at night even while the windows were open. Penthouse on the Park is located off a road, but the convenience far outweighed the little bit of traffic noise! We would highly recommend staying at Penthouse on the Park in Spoleto.

We spent 11 nights in this lovley apartment to celebrate our Wedding anniversary and it was everything we hoped for. The location was superb, a really short stroll through the park (or along the road) - and you were straight into the old town, where there was a good selection of bars, restaurants and shops. The apartment has everything you need, and the roof terrace was a real bonus - especially as we had a really hot spell whilst we were there! The views from the terrace are just gorgeous, and many an hour was spent just gazing out across the olive groves and pretty villas on the hillside with a glass of wine and a good book! It was lovley to have loads of space to spread out in, however you could easily fill this apartment to capacity and not feel on top of each other. We had originally hoped for an 'older' property, however on hinsight - that may not have offered us the space or the level of comfort we got from the Penthouse - so I am now really happy that we stayed where we did The only downside was the 'hike' back up the hill from the supermarket down at the bottom. In 90 degree heat and laden down with wine, cheese and salami - it was quite a challenge, however if you stay on an Italian hillside - then you have to expect that! The service provided by Laurie and Norma was second to non - Laurie picked us up at the train station and gave us a quick tour of Spoleto to help orientate us on the way to the apartment, which was invaluable. Laurie is absolutly charming, and was full of advice on where to eat, what to do etc - which was a real help in getting our holiday started. Although I didnt meet Norma, I emailed her on a couple of occasions, and like Laurie - she always responded with really helpful, reliable advice. We had an absolutly fab time, relaxing in beautiful surroundings and eating some fabulous Italian food! Alltogether, a wonderful holiday and we hope to visit again in the future. A huge 'thank you' to Laurie and Norma for making our stay so special!

Penthouse on the Park was a grand place to come home to while spending a week in Spoleto. The spot had all the amenities - laundry, full kitchen, etc.. Like many rentals, not everything was in perfect condition (broken deck chairs, missing towel racks) but overall the location (near the park and within easy walking distance to everything) and the views were splendid. Note: the advertisement of "use of the pool" is not as easily accomplished - the group needs about a day advanced notice to organize the 60 euro (gulp!) round trip taxi ride there.

This charming family of 4 persons stayed with us for 4 days and we were happy to transport them to and from the station. On the day they wanted to go to the pool, they gave us 1 hours notice and we gave them permission to take some family friends, who were not staying with us, to our private pool. However, to accommodate such a big group, it was necessary to try and hire a mini bus. Hence the expense.
In this busy holiday period, no-one was available at such notice. Hence the delay. Normally, you need to give NO notice to get to the pool. Laurie would have taken them immediately, had there just been the 4 of them. However, you do need to give 24 hours notice to dine at Villa Marianna.
Had our critic informed us that the deck-chairs were broken, we would have replaced them immediately. We always say to everyone that should they find anything amiss, they should always inform us and we would act on it instantly. Sometimes, guests break things and do not tell us and when the deck chairs are folded up, it is impossible to tell if they are broken. They have now been replaced. -

This centrally located apartment is entirely as advertised. It's within easy walking distance of the main squares in Spoleto and therefore all the great restaurants and cafe/bars.
There's enough room for 4 but the 2nd bedroom is a mezzanine with only a curtain dividing it from the living area.
Very private roof-top terrace with table, chairs and sunbeds. The view towards the hills is wonderful and its a great place to have breakfast.
Laurie and Norma the owners provide an efficient and supportive service. -

This was our first trip to Spoleto (and to Umbria). Penthouse on the Park exceeded our expectations. It is a lovely property and an ideal location for seeing Spoleto. The apartment is very versatile and the roof terrace is a bonus with lovely views of the Umbrian countryside. What we liked best was the apartment and its location - good access to public transport enabled us to travel outwith the city too. We wish we had booked for two weeks rather than just one.

The Penthouse on the Park was a very clean apartment across the street from a small park that led to the old city center. The location was excellent, providing views of the surrounding mountains and green space, yet close to the city center. Our host picked us up at the train station then returned us there at the end of our stay. A great grocery store is within a walk of the apartment. You just have to remember that you will be walking up hill to the apartment while carrying your groceries.

Great location, good ammenities. This apartment has everything you need--including a grand view from the roof deck. Easy access to the historical center of Spoleto and quick bus rides to everywhere else including the train station--although our hosts kindly provided transportation to and from the train. Great value--the price is very fair. For two couples the apartment works okay--but be aware that one of the bedrooms has only a curtain for one of the walls--so sound travels.. This arrangement might work best for a family--stick the kids in the room without a wall. Despite this minor issue we would rent this again in a minute!

Yes, in the winter, the terrace suffered a little from the contrasting temperatures between night and day. The strong sun in the day following low night temperatures can crack the terracotta tiles. However, it has all been fixed now. Absolutely no damage remains on the terrace.

We were met at the station and taken to the apartment which was lovely, the views from the bedrooms and the roof terrace are breathtaking and from the balcony you can watch the world go by. The facilities in the apartment are top class there is everything you need to make your stay comfortable. The apartment is perfectly placed to explore Spoleto and a very short walk through the park took us to Piazza Mercato which has plenty of café's and restaurants also a lovely deli with extremely helpful owner. A day in the mountains at Villa Mariana was magical we swam in the great pool then had the best lunch prepared for us for an excellent price. We will definitely come again!

We really enjoyed the location of this apartment - within minutes we were in the heart of Spoleto and the nearby park was wonderful for entertaining our grandchildren. The apartment was very clean - had some trouble with the WiiFii service and couldn't get some of the TV channels - but otherwise the apartment was perfect! Nice contact with Laurie who was very willing to help us in every way.

Leider habe ich im Moment nicht die Zeit, meine Antwort in Englisch zu schreiben, da ich ständig ein Wörterbuch benutzen müsste.
Aber vielleicht können Sie ja - oder eine andere zuständige Person - deutsch.
Der Aufenthalt in Spoleto im "Penthouse on the Park" hat uns sehr, sehr gut gefallen. Die Ferienwohnung war mit allem, was einen Aufenthalt angenehm macht ausgestattet und Mr. Laury hat uns ganz wunderbar in Empfang genommen und uns alles gezeigt. Spoleto selbst ist absolut sehenswert, ebenso die Umgebung. Es sind nicht nur die Sehenswürdigkeiten, die Umbrien zu einer ausgesprochenen "Schatztruhe" machen, es ist auch die Landschaft, die verzaubert. Und natürlich das tolle Essen.
Also alles in allem ein toller Urlaub und wir waren bestimmt nicht das lezte mal in Umbrien. Wir könnten uns vorstellen, auch nochmal in Spoleto, in der gleichen Wohnung, Quartier zu beziehen.
