Left on 05/05/2013 for a stay in June 2011
I am quite late on this review, but I stayed in this beautiful Paris apartment over a year ago and it was a great home base for exploring the city. My girlfriend and I were in Paris for four days and walked everywhere from here. The apartment is extremely spacious, comfortalble and modern, yet still retains a traditional charm. There is a sweet balcony with a view and even a washer and dryer. I would definitely recommend.

San FranciscoWonderful apartment in the Heart of Paris
Left on 02/05/2013 for a stay in December 2012
My girlfriend and I stayed here over Christmas and New Years 2012. My strategy of picking a rental with many positive reviews was a success, so I wanted to contribute a brief one of my own.
We booked the rental well in advance, but Jean kept in contact with me during the interim period. About a month prior to our stay, he contacted me with all of the details needed to check in, which was a relief with all of the other preparations that needed to be made for our trip from San Francisco to Paris. He even provided detailed instructions on how to take the RER right to the front door, which might have been difficult for a non-resident to figure out.
For check-in, Jean's assistant, Elias, was there waiting for us; he even mentioned that he saw our flight landed early and had arrived early himself. Elias gave us a great overview of all of the features of the apartment--including some things that were a bit different for us, being from another country.
This review focuses mainly on the time leading up to our rental, because there were no issues during our stay. The balcony was a great feature and provided wonderful views; there are multiple markets and supermarkets within a five minute walk; many great sites, restaurants and museums are within walking distance, and the close proximity of the RER made access to the Eiffel Tower and Versailles uneventful; and everything we needed (washer/dryer, pots and pans, linens/towels, etc.) and more was provided in the apartment.
During checkout, Elias came later in the day than usual to accommodate our late train departure time to the next destination. This was a wonderful gesture on his part. Our deposit was returned in its entirety and we were off to our next destination on time and having paid what we agreed upon in advance. -

Honolulu, HILovely apartment!!
Left on 01/24/2013 for a stay in October 2012
It is a wonderful place! The apartment has a truely great location! It is just minutes away from the metro station and RER station directly to/from to the airport! The street near by has tons of great restaurants. It is so centrally located, if you like, you can pretty much walk to everywhere, Louvre museum or Notre Dame. There were only my husband and I and the space is amazingly big for two people. I love the balcony especially. Some days we can just have breakfast on the balcony. The only thing is the stairs, which we had walk up and down with our luggages. But it is two times only, when we got there and we we left. We will definitely go back again!

The reviews truly live up to everything this apartment rental has to offer! I traveled to Paris for the first time early last month with my parents (who are in their early to mid-60s) and we were immediately impressed with the building and owner, Jean, who was both helpful and made us feel right at home. Typically, this apartment is perfect for two since it has only one bedroom. However, I stayed on the foldaway bed which was arranged in the living room and it was just fine. The living room and dining room space are really the heart of the apartment. The two fireplaces are a unique touch, and the clean and simple decor throughout really made the space feel open and inviting. The balcony was probably my favorite.., very traditional. I would definitely stay again as the location is also central to the metro and nearby shops and cafes. The only thing which was a bit of a struggle were the five flights of stairs but no different than other 19th century building. Overall, we were very impressed!

new yorkExcellent apartment for my sister and I
Left on 06/14/2012 for a stay in May 2012
This apartment was my favorite one of my trip to Europe with my sister. The apartment was clean, trendy, modernly decorated and well stocked. The location was great - the street fair on Rue Montorgueil on Thursdays is not to be missed and there's lots of great shopping and restaurants nearby. We were just a short walk from the Louvre.
The apartment looks just as it does in the pictures. I spent many mornings on the balcony reading on my ipad or just soaking in the view. The apartment was quiet and Jean (the owner) stocked it with everything we could have needed. The washer/dryer was in good condition as were all the other appliances.
Jean met us on our first day and not only showed us around the apartment but gave us several maps and guidebooks and restaurant recommendations. He was very accommodating of our needs, as we needed to check out the night before we left due to an early flight.
There's only con per my sister - the mattress in the living room is not as comfortable as it could be. However, she had no problems sleeping. It's just a little firm.
Next time I go to Paris, I'd like to stay in this apartment again! Loved it. -

Had a lovely time in Paris with my teenage daughters , apartment was close to a lot of Paris delights. Walking distance to most Paris Icons.
The five flights of stairs were great for working off all the magnificent Paris food. Has Wi-fi, would be great to have a few more english speaking TV channels, not able to access all. -

The service we received when we arrived was fantastic. The location and the size of the apartment were great as were all the amenities inside the apartment. The only thing that was not good in the apartment for us was the floorboards as they squeaked really loudly. We had a toddler and once we put her to bed you couldn't move around in the apartment because they were so loud and we didn't want to wake her.

This apartment is very chic with dark wood floor and contrasting white furniture, close to great shopping and wonderful resturants(our favourite being Chez George which is within walking distance). Just one block away is Rue Montorgueil, a lively street full of resturants to suit every taste.
Pros: Great central location, i would stay here again.
Cons: Apartment is on the 5th floor with no elevator so you have to climb over 100 steps everytime you want to go back. -

Stayed here for 3 nights for our first anniversary. Excellent modern apartment (just as shown in the pictures on trip advisor) very comfortable with everything you need.
Located in a quiet area close to shops and lots of cafes and restaurants. Also within walking distance to a lot of the main tourist attractions.
The only small negative of the apartment was the stairs as there is no lift but we knew this when we booked and wasn't a problem for us.
Booking was very easy and deposit was returned immediately at the end of our stay. Good directions were given and the apartment was easy to get to.
Met by Elias who was friendly, helpful and showed us around the apartment and gave us some info on the local area. Would definitely recommend and would stay here again. -

TucsonNice apartment in Ideal Location
Left on 02/19/2012 for a stay in February 2012
Our family stayed in this apartment for seven days, and could not have been happier. The location is ideal, within walking distance to many of the great sights Paris has to offer. The apartment is directly next to the Etienne Marcel metro, and an enjoyable fifteen minute stroll to the Seine and Louvre. Numerous cafes, restaurants, and bars are also nearby. The apartment is also very near to Rue Montorgueil, a wonderful Parisian market street. Shopping here each morning at the bakeries and other shops was a real highlight of our trip. The location of this apartment allowed us to easily explore both the touristy and non-touristy parts of this spectacular city.
The apartment itself is very nice, with a spacious and stylishly decorated living and dining area. The kitchen, bedroom, and bathroom are clean and functional. As others have mentioned, it is on the fifth floor with no elevator. Carrying our luggage up the five floors on the spiral staircase was a bit of a challenge, but otherwise the lack of an elevator wasn't a problem at all. If anything the stairs added to the charm of the apartment.
We didn't experience any problems at all at check-in or during our seven-day stay. Jean and Elias were very responsive to any questions we had. Overall, we had a lovely time staying at this apartment. We also felt that it was good value. Highly recommended. -

Left on 02/07/2012 for a stay in December 2011
My husband and I stayed at Jean's lovely flat for a week in December. He met us upon arrival and was very accommodating when we had a very early flight and asked to meet him earlier than his normal check in time. He gave us a very good idea of what was around the neighborhood in terms of markets and restaurants. The apartment also had a great selection of guide books that other travelers had left behind.
The apartment itself was wonderful. Plenty of space, super clean and well decorated. The bed was very comfortable and because the bedroom was situated in the back of the apartment there was no street noise at night. [Owner] was also very accommodating in helping us with dinner reservations and suggesting Christmas markets around the city.
The apartment was in a perfect location, centrally located and within walking distance to just about everything. When we did need to hop on the metro Les Halles was a block away.
We were super pleased with everything about our stay. We would recommend this place to friends and family heading to the city. -

New York. NYFabulous location and lovely, well-priced apartment.
Left on 11/26/2011 for a stay in November 2011
My husband and I spent 10 glorious days staying in this 5-floor walk-up in the Montorgueil area, steps from 2 metro stops and excellent food markets. The apartment is well-equipped and spacious, although the bedroom and bathroom are tiny (we are small people!) Check-in and out was handled by Jean's agent, Elias, who showed up on time and kindly assisted us up the (many) stairs with one of our suitcases. One small issue for guests arriving on early morning flights from the USa is that check-in is normally not until 2pm and there is nowhere to leave luggage so you are stuck from around 8 or 9am with your luggage. However, Jean was as accommodating as he could be and we were able to access the apartment at noon - which helped a lot. Having wifi access was a big plus. Plenty of hot water and we had no problems with the microwave/oven. Because of our early arrival, Elias had not had time to change the sheets or dry a large load of household laundry in the clothes dryer - which we handled ourselves. All-in-all it wasd a wonderful experience and we would definitely stay there again. The long climb up the stairs meant that we could eat more!

Los Angeles, CA USAFantastic apartment In the Middle of Paris
Left on 10/10/2011 for a stay in October 2011
We couldn't have asked for a better apartment to rent. Well I guess we could have but it wouldn't have been realistic. It's in the center of Paris, has world class views and is mere steps from all of the bistros, bars, brasseries, boulangeries and clothes shopping you could want. And the living room/dining room area is a real show piece. There are however a couple of caveats; none of the following were issues for my wife or me but one should be aware of them if only to save Jean some hassle in the long run. This is a five story walk-up, i.e. there is no elevator and it could be an issue for some people especially when dealing with luggage. However it is not a problem if you are prepared for it and slightly fit. And while the living room is a show piece the bedroom and bathroom (while clean perfectly comfortable) are more functional in design and smaller than travelers from the us (and other locations) will be used to. Once again, if one is aware and expecting this, it is not a problem and should in no way deter you from renting this amazing apartment in heart of one of the greatest cities in the world.

A friend recommended I try FlipKey instead of getting an over-priced apartment for our trip to Paris. I gave it a go and found Jean's place.
It is perfect for a couple without children. The location is ideal walking distance from much of what you will want to check out while in Paris. Jean and his assistant are very helpful getting checked in and out. They are quick to answer questions and to walk you through the process.
The apartment is ideal in size, clean and has everything you will need including washer/dryer, refrig, oven, wifi and TV. They even have a universal plug which helped.
Once again, the location is perfect, or it was for us at least.
Yes, it is a 5th floor walk-up (no elevator) but you will do so much walking anyhow, the stairs are not that bad.
The one thing to bear in mind is this is not a hotel, and you are in a lively neighborhood, so if you like to sleep with the windows open there will be some noise, but we got used to it quickly. It is Paris after all. In addition, the neighbors on the 3rd floor threw a party our last night and played some really good music relatively loud to the wee hours, but once again, you are in Paris. If you are a really light sleep you may want to bring ear plugs.
You cannot beat the value of this apartment at the price we paid. We would stay here again in a heartbeat. -

Fantastic option for those not wanting to stay in a hotel. The living area and kitchen are fantastic. Only consideration is that the bed and bathroom are a little small as both my wife and I are quite tall. The owner was fantastic in hadling the deposit/payment and with directions, check-in/check out.

We stayed here as part of our second trip to Paris in 2 years. Both times we rented an apartment which is a great way to stay.
This unit offers a nice balcony view where you can eat or enjoy a glass of wine. We also appreciated the washer/dryer, large living and dining areas, flat screen tv and internet access. Basically everything we needed for a pleasant stay and located steps from two metro stations, shopping and grocery stores.
The only drawback is this unit is a 5th floor walk up. Not an issue for us, but if one was not able to get up stairs easily this could be a challenge.
Arrival went well as Elias (the representative) was there to greet us, show us how everything worked and even gave us tips about the area.
I would recommend this unit to anyone looking for a great stay at a good price. -

We (mom, dad, and nine-year old son) stayed in this apartment for ten days, feeling like at home in Paris during that time. The apartment is very nice and well kept, and we loved the neighborhood: a pedestrian street nearby has all that is needed: brasseries, bakeries, supermarkets, pharmacy, grocery stores, shops for wine, cheese... And it is a short walk to the Louvre and the Seine. Management was very friendly and efficient, both at check-in and at check-out. All in all, we had a great experience. We hope we'll have an opportunity to come back in the future!
(The only downside: fifth floor and no elevator, so be careful with how much you pack in your luggage...).

Pros
Great food shopping on nearby Rue Montorgueil
Close to metro and Le Marais
Big spacious main living room, nicely furnished/decorated. Ideal for a couple, but I think the apartment is just about big enough for 3 or 4 if you use the sofa bed.
Lovely balcony for your morning croissant, looks across parisian rooftops.
Basic and functional kitchen and bathroom
South facing so gets the sun all day.
Good shower!
Quiet neighbours.
Clean
Good security
Cons
Lots of steps to get up to the 5th floor (no lift)
Oven/microwave didn't appear to work
Overlooks a busy main road, but being so high up you're quite removed from it
Bedroom is quite small -

After a month of perusing Paris properties online we decided finally decided on this apartment and could not have been more pleased with our decision. The location was amazing and we can't say enough good things about this apartment. Standing on the balcony and looking at the Paris rooftops and skyline took our breath away. The pictures were definitely a very accurate portrayal of the apartment and actually don't do enough justice to the actual space. There were lots of amenities to make it feel just like home and the apartment was a perfect haven after especially long days of site seeing in Paris. Jean, was a great host and very helpful and hospitable. Thanks Jean for making our stay that much more enjoyable. I would not hesitate to recommend this property to our friends and would definitely stay here again.

The apartment was beautiful and in a terrific area of the city (in the 1st bordering the 2nd across from forum de halles). While close to shopping centers and only a 10 min walk from the Louvre, the area did not feel touristy with great local cafes nearby. The RER and metro line 4 are across the street but many things in the surrounding districts are an easy walk (30-40 mins...I am from Boston!)
The owner was timely in response and very accomodating, a real pleasure to interact with! Our deposit was returned promptly the same day of departure. He was very helpful w/ providing us with helpful information to navigate both the airport and the city. I would stay here again in a heartbeat may next trip to Paris! -

The condo is extremely well located for access to public transit (Metro/RER) and for site seeing. Numerous restaurants and grocery stores are within walking distance. The condo is well furnished and equipped. The owner (Jean) is very friendly and helpful. The apartment was tidy with lots of clean linen. Our only observation was the floors, which did not appear to have been cleaned prior to our arrival.
In the "not so good" category: There is no elevator so you must carry your baggage up 5 flights of stairs; and, there is no air conditioning which could be a problem during hot weather.
Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and considered the condo good value. We would use this condo again and would recommend it to others. -

As my wife and I were planning our summer vacation, one thing we wanted to do was to rent an apartment instead of staying at a hotel.
When we saw pictures of this apartment, it looked great, but we were a little worried that it couldn't be as nice as it seemed on the website.
I am so glad to say that we need not have worried. The apartment was spotless and perfectly situated in the Les Halles neighborhood. It had a great view, and tons of great places to eat steps away.
Jean, the owner, was amazing as well ... we arrived without an electric adaptor, and he walked with me to a nearby electronics store and helped me buy one. And he had a nice bottle of wine ready for us when we arrived.

The top three assets of property, according to realtors, are: location, location, location. This apartment is in a lively, hip area, abundant in excellent markets and brasseries to delight the palate. Several Metro stops are extremely close, and it is possible to walk to all the fabulous arondissements of Paris from the apartment (and we did). The apartment itself was immaculate, had beautiful architectural bones and was sufficiently equipped to permit even a dinner chez nous. Our host was most helpful and available for any and all queries. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Thank you, Jean.
I've just returned from a 4 day stay with my boyfriend in this appartment. It's very centrally located, opposite a metro stop and 10mins walk from the Louvre. The area nearby the apartment is lovely with pedestrianised streets, lots of restaurants, etc. The apartment itself was spotless, newly renovated and decorated very nicely. The living area was large and spacious. Jean is very helpful, explaining what's available locally, etc and the process of paperwork, etc was very straightforward for renting. I would highly recommend this appartment!
