      Amazing stay !

Left on 05/20/2013 for a stay in May 2013

My vacation to Paris was a wonderful first-time experience. After finding the apartment listing on-line, I contacted Thierry about setting up accommodations. From the beginning of our communication, Thierry was very friendly and helpful with any questions I had. His replies to me were always prompt. Our financial transactions went smoothly and my deposit was refunded in good time as well.

What attracted me to the apartment was the picture of the floor-to-ceiling windows nicely draped and the little eating table and chairs beside them, overlooking the church across the street. I was pleased upon my arrival that the pictures were accurate and the apartment was well appointed for all my needs. The extra space compared to a hotel at roughly the same cost, was a great deciding point for me to rent from Thierry. The free international phone calls were a real plus and worked smoothly. The quaint street below was just a joy to look out upon and watch all the people walking and the amazing twice weekly fresh food farmer's market was an incredible sight. The location was quiet and conveniently located to metro only steps away.

I would highly recommend this apartment to anyone looking for a great location to metro and local attractions in Paris, as well as a good value for space in comparison to local hotels. And of course, the extra touch of feeling like a resident, by spending your trip in an apartment on a truly Parisian street.

      The Perfect Paris apartment

Left on 05/05/2013 for a stay in April 2013

My daughter, 26, and I stayed for a week and found this to be a great apartment in a great location. The owner was very easy to communicate with as were the people from Paris Rental Services who met us for check-in and check-out, (Antoine and Laura). The apartment was clean, organized, full of helpful travel books on Paris, and easy walking distance to restaurants, grocers, the Louvre, and shopping. The Metro is very close as well. The kitchen is nicely equipped, the beds clean and comfortable, the bathroom has a great shower with plenty of pressure and hot water. Being from america, I needed ice cubes for my drinks and purchased some ice cube bags for me and future guests. We also replenished some paper goods for future guests. I only wish...I could have stayed longer...

The apartment exceeded all our needs. It was perfect for two people. Checking in was smooth and easy. The location was my favourite part. I could walk everywhere or easily get on a metro. Also the shopping and the restaurants just outside your door are amazing. If you enjoy wine, go to O Chateaux just around the corner. 40 plus wines by the glass and many great restaurant suggestions.

      Relaxing location, charm, and convenient

Left on 01/25/2013 for a stay in January 2013

We had a great stay in Thierry's apartment next to the Saint Eustace Church. Just a few minutes walk from the Louvre, the Ill de Cite and a quiet, lesser known museum, the arts et Metiers. The cafes near the apartment are fantastic. If you visit the Pointe De Eustace, their lunch menu is especially worthwhile. Rue Montorguiel is a treat to walk down as well. The apartment is a perfect fit for a couple or few friends traveling. Anymore than four is too many. My wife and I live and work in China as teachers, which has long ago taken our need for space or big living areas. For us, the apartment was the right size. While it wasn't Thierry who met us, a man who works for the management company did and he was very nice and gave us great information for our visit. We were visiting during the New Year celebration week and gave us tips and places to go to and to also avoid. There is a supermarket and Carrefour nearby, which makes for great budget cooking. We would definitely go again and would recommend to our friends and family! For those traveling in the next few months, the Les Halles area is under construction and has been for a while. Its not necessarily an eye sore in the apartment, but it can be a little confusing when you are trying to get to the Metro, or to the Seine. Once that construction is over, it will be fantastic!

      Amazing location

Left on 11/02/2012 for a stay in October 2012

This is a fantastic little apartment in a great location. We travelled with a 4.5 yr old and a 6 month year old so for us the apartment felt small... But that is no surprise. It's perfect for a couple and suitable for a couple with kids.

There is a nice chinese restaurant next door and lots of other eating places on the street. There is a good supermarket on the corner.

There is good underground access within 10 or so minutes and lots of attractions are in walking distance.

Close to the station from the airport and the one which goes to Disney.

Short taxi ride or shortish- medium walk to eurostar station

My minor quibble is that because it's managed by a professional company they are a little less flexible with checkin and checkout compared to if it were managed by a private individual. We were slightly put out when when we asked them in advance to book a taxi to the train station for us and they responded with a website and phone number. Given we did not have a phone it defeated the purpose. However, the gentleman who checked us out was more than happy to call the taxi. Also receiving the 500 euro deposit back in cash at the end of the trip is a pain if you are going home although we of course we understand the need for it.

Left on 09/24/2012 for a stay in September 2012

It was our first time in Paris and we had a great time thanks to your centrally located apartment. We felt secure and well taken care of by Salomie, who met us in the foyer and explained all the features in the apartment and gave us keys. My 70 year old mom , my sister and I enjoyed the lively market on the street below our apartment. We bought delicious fruit, vegetables and BBQ chicken from the friendly vendors. We took the metro ( so close by) to Versailles, Disney and CDG. Walking to the Louvre, souvenir shopping and walking along the river was enjoyable and not too far to go either. Since the apartment is located close to a central metro hub, we easily connected to the Eurostar and spent a day in London. After a long day of exploring the city we certainly appreciated the well equipped kitchen ( where we kept wine and cheese and croissants) and the comfortable furniture in the apartment. My mom, who does not email, kept in contact with home using the phone in the apartment. Free calls to Canada! Watching english news on the TV in the evening kept us connected to home too. I would recommend this apartment to people wanting a central location where Paris and locations accessible from the metro are going to be explored. My sister enjoyed her stay so much that she wants to return with her husband!

      Thank you so much, Thierry.

We stayed at the apartment for one week in april 2012. We were met promptly at our arranged time by two wonderful women that spoke great english. The apartment was just as pictured, it has everything that you would need. The ladies were full of helpful information about the apartment, the neighbourhood, and Paris in general. The neighbour hood is amazing, on the day we arrived - Thursday there is an open air market in front of the building, a beautiful church right arcross the street, a grocery around the corner, the bakery 1/2 a block away, resturants and cafes every where. We were a minute walk from the metro station which takes you anywhere you want to go. The weather was good so we walked to the Louve - a 12 minute walk, Notre Dame and The Siene a 10 minute walk. The people in Paris were very friendly and helpful. We had a wonderful stay and we would definately return.

Convenient apartment in the middle of Paris!

Left on 01/11/2012 for a stay in November 2011

The apartment is exactly like the pictures and is in a bustling area of shops, cafes, and stores. The 2 street fairs were amazing. It is so close to the Metro and really quiet in the apartment itself. We had 4 people, 2 teenage girls and parents. It would have been better with just 2 of us but it was still enough room and good for 4.
The current editions of Frommer's lists the area around Chatelet les Halles as best avoided at night. We were concerned but emailed Thierry right away and asked about it. He assured us but I was still worried. Believe me there was no reason to be worried whatsoever between the metro and the apartment or the area surrounding with restaurants and shops. We never felt unsafe while walking around to the cafes, the market, or the shops at night.

We did have a slight problem with the tv and the battery being low in the controller which would not allow us to change channels. Because we did not have a cell phone I did not call every day but called about 3 times regarding the tv. We were unable to reach the managers the entire week. (The battery was not one we could purchase and you can only change the channel with that controller not at the tv due to the type of system they had.)
The only other issue was trying to use the washing machine to wash towels. After a few days I wanted to have clean towels as only about 5 towels are provided. I spent about 30 minutes reading the instructions and gave up. Not exactly how I wanted to spend my vacation time trying to determine how to use the equipment. It would be very nice if towels were exchanged for you mid-week by the service.
All in all these were all extremely minor things for an excellent stay in the middle of downtown Paris!! We loved the view of the church and the bells ringing. Thank you for sharing your apartment with us!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Thierry's Montmartre apartment.

The apartment provides a beautiful view overlooking Montmartre, close to shopping, café's and transportation. The apartment was well stocked, quiet and extremely comfortable. We loved the environment and wouldn't stay anywhere else when we return to Paris in the future. A great experience from start to finish - from the initial booking to the deposit return ... process was slick and efficient.

      Lively location, decent rental

Left on 09/20/2011 for a stay in September 2011

We rented this apartment because we enjoy the Montorgueil area of Paris. The view on St. Eustache church is stunning, and we love hearing the church bells. Rue Montmartre is also home to a number of magasins de cuisine, for whatever cookery items you never knew you needed!

The pictures for this apartment are somewhat accurate. There is no door from living room to bedroom; this is closed off with a heavy louvered screen. The bathroom and bedroom windows bring in air and light, but they look into nearby walls. The chest of drawers in the living area is perpetually locked, so not accessible to renters. We enjoyed the table in front of the living room windows morning and evening.

With the activity along the street, we felt we were a part of the buzz. There is lots of noise, including a market just below two days a week. We happen to enjoy the liveliness, but if you do seek more quiet, you can control the noise by closing the windows and heavy curtains.

The apartment is moderately clean. There are cleaning supplies on hand, however, if you feel things need to be touched up. We had a maintenance issue in the bathroom that needed to be addressed. It took a couple of days, but this eventually got fixed. The washer-dryer will not actually dry clothes. It will spin them well and leave them damp, so you will need to hang them to dry completely. The kitchen area has a good counter top, sink, dish-drying rack, and microwave. We were able to find utensils for all of our needs. Keep in mind that you will need to climb at least a couple of flights of stairs for access.

In all, we had a comfortable stay in a great area. We would consider renting here again.

      not what you see

Left on 06/13/2011 for a stay in June 2011

Dont know what other people saw in this apartment. we were meant to be given the contact of the guy in Paris 2 weeks before we arrived, and hadnt. When we contacted the owner he told us it was not him but he had not given any contact person to us. Wanted to know if we could arrange transport from train station but no help(dont know about complimentary transport that other reviewer mentioned). Got to the apartment and a young lady eventually greeted us but her English wasn't the best(she had trouble trying to explain some things to us in English about the apartment) The lift(tiny for one person) was not working and this only goes to the 1st floor. then a passage which goes to another 2 flights of steep stairs. I'm not old and pretty fit but would hate to see an older person contend these stairs everyday after each day out doing lots of walking. Finally lugged our luggage up the steep windey stairs to arrive at a dirty apartment which had not been cleaned from the previous tennants. Eventually a cleaner came which we then had to wait around for her to finish cleaning as we wanted to unpack our bags which there was no where really to put our stuff. There is no cupboard or drawer space in this apartment either. This was our 3rd apartment in Europe that we had been in but the most dissapointed with and we could smell the toilet from the bed which we had to slide the bathroom door to sleep. Someone in the aparment block played music which vibrated thru our pillows from 10.00pm at night till 6.00am. Did not sleep a wink. (we were know told after arriving back home that "we should have rung the police as this is against the law in Paris" , which we did not know at the time). After 1 nights accomodation(had booked for 5 nights) we checked out to go to a clean hotel and some descent sleep. The location was good but I'm sorry, this is the only good thing about this apartment and I have to be honest. I understand that everyone has different standards and this is the very first time I have ever checked out early of a place and gone somewhere else. I know things are old in Europe but I do like things to be clean and some good nights sleep. I have put it down to one of lifes experiences.

Communication when booking our apartment was great and payment fast and easy. Our weeks stay at 8/10 rue Montmartre in May 2011 was perfect. We had three adults in the apartment and there was plenty of room. The free wireless connectivity was great and the apartment was modern and had everything we needed. The location was very central to all the sites as well as great shopping and food. We went to the market that runs in our street on two occasions and this was a wonderful experience also. With the Velib station around the corner and everything so close we did not have to use any taxis at all. The staff at the local cafes made us feel very welcome and we made some great friends. We often had the windows to the apartment open to enjoy the beautiful weather Paris put on for us during our stay. We were welcomed by the private car facility you offered and the host was very informative and friendly. Checkout at the end of our stay was hassle free and we will definitely be re-booking for our next holiday in Paris.

Right in the center of Paris

Left on 04/20/2011 for a stay in April 2011

This apartment is centrally located within walking distance of the Louvre (10 min), Notre Dame (20 min), and Musey D'Orsay (25 min). It is also right next door to a metro stop, so highly convenient.

Around the corner is Rue Montorgueil, a street closed to traffic and with probably 50 different restaurants and coffee shops. Very nice for late night drink and desert - no need to take a metro or taxi. The street is full with people and safe.

The apartment looks directly at the better half of the church Saint-Eustache, the Gothic half. The bells from the church ring starting at 8am till 8PM, so no problem for sleeping.

The apartment is enough for 2, may be crowded for 4, but it sleeps 4. The kitchen is small but quite well equipped for everything one will want on vacation: microwave, refrigerator, toaster, coffee maker, water boiler and a small range. The kitchen seems brand new and is very clean. There is a queen bed in the hallway/sleeping area, and a queen futon in the family room. Dark curtains provide almost total blackout from the large windows. The bathroom is very clean and decent size for a small apartment. There is a tub/shower. Not for forget: free wi-fi and free phone calls to the us from the apartment! Located on the 3rd floor (ground being floor 0), no elevator.

Overall, our stay was incredible! We are definitely coming back again and now we know where to stay. There is no better place in Paris location wise than the Montorgueil area.

Left on 01/30/2011 for a stay in November 2010

My husband and I stayed at the Louvre Montorgueil apartment in November and enjoyed it very much. It was exactly as the photos depicted and very clean and comfortable. It was much more spacious that staying at a hotel and about half the price! The location is central to Paris and most of the main Metro lines pass through the Les Halles stops, which minimizes transfers. The apartment gave us an experience to what it would be like to live in Paris - the outdoor market, local eateries, etc. The owners were so helpful and met us at the apartment where we were shown how to use all the appliances. I would definitely recommend staying here!!!

      Fabulous apartment... Perfect Location!

Left on 08/12/2010 for a stay in July 2010

My husband and I stayed in this apartment for the first week of our honeymoon July 13-18, 2010. It was absolutely perfect. Thierry is a wonderful host and had everything ready for us. The apartment is a very, very quick walk from the Chatelet des Halles metro station (which is a big mall, so there are places to grab a quick bite or supplies). You come up the steps from the metro, look to your right to the Jet Lag cafe. Rue de Montmarte is to the left of the cafe, and the door to the apartment is just a few doors up the street on the right. There is an elevator, but the apartment is not accessible by it, but the stairs are easy. The apartment is gorgeous. Huge windows open on to the street (there was a street market three days that we were there), but when the windows are closed there is zero noise. The next street over (on the other side of the Jet Lag cafe) has a huge variety of stores and restaurants, including a little grocery with great prices. We also bought a cooked chicken at a boucherie for dinner one night, and found a great patisserie for breakfasts. We didn't tend to cook a lot (used the microwave a couple of times), but it was fabulous to have a fridge, and eating/drinking utensils, and plenty of space to stretch out. The couch in the living room is a double-futon, which worked great for lounging in the evening after a long day of sightseeing. The apartment is perfectly located to visit all the sights of Paris (don't miss the Palace of Versailles!). It has a washer/dryer (a single unit that does both), but be careful not to overload it. We did and couldn't get anything to dry! The only English stations we could get on the TV were BBC and CNN, but that was fine. There is also a little stereo, and we enjoyed that very much. Overall, this apartment is just perfect for a couple. Excellent location, clean, well-equipped, and perfect in every way. It was our best accommodation on our entire trip, and we feel very lucky to have found it. Highly recommended!"

      Great location - highly recommend.

Left on 05/10/2010 for a stay in May 2010

We stayed here May 1-7, 2010. Renting this apartment was a great decision for our first trip to Paris. Our first experience renting in another country, I was a bit skeptical at first. But, it was super easy to book, and Thierry was very responsive to all my emails and questions. He met us at the apartment, gave us a thorough orientation, then he walked us up our street and the next one, pointing out good markets with reasonable prices and a good ATM to use. By American standards, this was more like a studio, but it was spacious enough for the two of us women (age mid-40's). The bed and pull-out couch were very comfortable. The couch rolled open and closed easily. I had an excellent sleep every night! The location was superb - near the Metro, close to great shops, restaurants, sites. The streets came alive later in the morning, so it was quiet for sleeping. The curch across the street was gorgeous - and a great landmark for finding our way home. The bells only ring during the day and never rang at night. It was safe and quiet. Bring your own alarm clock. There is not one in the apartment. But you have a TV, DVD player, radio, phone. The bathroom and kitchen were adequate and markets for fresh fruit, croissants and take-out food surrounded us. Definitely explore the surrounding streets for more restaurants and an amazing 3-level store for cooking gear -- my hobby and a delight to find it. We had breakfast in the apartment but ate out for other meals. My cooking was limited to the wonderful coffee maker, and I did microwave a slice of quiche purchased at a place on the next street (rue Montorgueil - bustling with activity and not to be missed). It was great! I highly recommend this apartment and would definitely stay here again. Thierry met us on our departure day and made everything very easy for us. Staying in this apartment really enhanced our experience of Paris in a way that a hotel cannot.
