Description from the manager

This is a charming, semi-detached property located very close to some of the most spectacular walks that the region has to offer and provides comfortable accommodation for up to four people. Built in the 1700s, this cottage has been sympathetically restored and decorated to a very high standard throughout. The restoration has retained many original features, such as a cast-iron range with an open fire to create cosy winter evenings. The patio-garden to the front of the property has its own garden furniture, from which you can soak up the sunset with a glass of wine and enjoy the spectacular view of the surrounding countryside. A lovely relaxing Christmas.

Left on 02/08/2011 for a stay in December 2010

We arrived on December 23rd in very deep snow. The cottage was home from home and once we mastered the open fire it was so cosy. The kitchen was so well equipped and made it so easy to cook a full Christmas dinner. The accommodation was to a very high standard and we could mot have chosen better. There were some lovely walks for our two dogs, Diesel and Sky, although it wud have been easier to have a garden to let them out in.

      We loved it

Left on 02/04/2010 for a stay in November 2009

We loved it. We've stayed a loads of cottages, this
was one of the best. Because of it's location which
is 15 mins from the nearest pub by foot, 25 to the
nearest shops we expected a walkers cottage
(meaning fairly basic amenities etc.) but instead
found excellent facilities and lovely furnishings.
The kitchen is a nice size and has quality utensils
in it. The lounge carpeted and kept clean to a very
high standard. We went before Christmas 2009 and
despite the weather being cold the heating kept up
ok The log fire provided a lovely focal point to
the room. The landlords were friendly. We loved to
walk to the shops and go to the cafe, where we
found it easy to join in the conversation. It is
exposed so catches the weather good or bad. They
could do with a sign. We struggled to find it the
first day so take a mobile and a contact number. We
would like to go back this year.

Perfect cottage for a perfect holiday trip

Left on 12/20/2009 for a stay in May 2009

The cottage has been even better than described. High modern standard with still the warm atmosphere of the 18th century cottage. Absolutely perfect for a break of the hectic moments of city life. Great nature around with the coast and its walks around. Especially the walk to Staithes is worth every mile.
Shopping for the daily needs just some minutes away as long as you go by car.
With the perfect fitted kitchen, you can enjoy the evening meal at the cottage and relax after in front of the real fire place.
      Perfect for our bulldogs, too.
Unfortunatly the stay was over just after two weeks but we'll return for sure.

A great place to start and finish

Left on 12/03/2009 for a stay in September 2009

What a great place to start and finish your day. Cottage was very clean and had all you need for a break from it all. The two dogs loved the field across the road for there morning and evening run,
There are plenty of places to see and things to do. A must is Robin Hoods bay,the steam ride to Heartbeat country and some of the walks on the moors are worth every bit.
Owners were there about it you needed anything but otherwise you had your own space,

Left on 12/03/2009 for a stay in July 2008

We received a very warm welcome from the owner who allowed us into the cottage before our booking started. The cottage facilities were finished to a very high standard. The location was far enough from the main road giving the feeling of being miles away from it all. An excellent base for walking the coastal path and the deep bath at the end of a days walking was very welcome indeed!! We cannot find fault with the whole of our stay!! Our dog "Bella" enjoyed here stay as much as we did too. Thank You...PS. Forgot to mention the Peacock!!

So good, we didn't want to leave!

Left on 12/02/2009 for a stay in October 2009

Street House Farm Cottage was beautifully fitted with all mod cons. and superbly warm and comfortable. The owner was also very friendly and welcoming.

Being located within minutes of the Cleveland Way made an ideal location for walking with our dogs along this spectacular coastline.

The walk from the cottage to Staithes is one of breathtaking scenery, with Staithes being an interesting and pretty destination - not to mention the excellent pub.

Also being within easy reach of the moors, Whitby and Saltburn, enabled us to make the most of the area every day.

A lovely place to stay and a bonus we could take our two dogs with us.
