The Bothy sleeps four and is ideal for a family, with many attractions located nearby, there is an abundance of activities to keep you all entertained during your holiday. Your pets are also very welcome to come along too.

Located in the Lake District National Park at the foot of the Kentmere Valley, half way between the popular village of Windermere and the traditional county town of Kendal, both located only 5 miles away. The location is ideally suited for those wishing to leave the car behind and explore the fells and mountain by foot or bike. For those wishing to explore Lancashire and Yorkshire by car the M6 Motorway is only a 15 m...inute drive away.

The village of Staveley is only one mile away and has numerous shops, pubs and cafes for you to enjoy an afternoon tea in after a long day walking or a romantic evening meal. There is also a bike hire shop in the village and a brewery.

Situated in an elevated position with superb panoramic 360 degree views, the cottages sit around the central farmhouse. The four properties date back to the 17th century and are traditionally constructed with local stone and slate, each has its own garden and private parking . Inside the cottages are individually and tastefully decorated to make the most of the rustic beams and slate construction.

The Bothy is set over 2 floors and is heated by oil fired central heating and a wood burning stove and comprises:

First Floor: Double bedroom with spectacular views.

All bed linen and initial supply of logs provided.

The cottage has an abundance of space to store your muddy boots and waterproofs after a long day exploring the surrounding fells.

All prices include all taxes, gas, electric and bed linen. Please check property description to see if towels, logs, coal and cots are included free of charge or at a supplement.   Our cottage was compact but warm and cosy - just what was needed on a wet, cold day (in fact week!). Literally two up and two down, the bathroom and toilet were a little inconveniently positioned on the ground floor whilst the bedrooms were upstairs. That said, the cottage was very well equipped (even for cooking a Christmas dinner)and had everything we wanted. Our only criticism was that, for family viewing, the TV was ridiculously small...and we had brought lots of Dvds for those long winter evenings that just didn't get watched. The location was everything we had imagined...the farm is in the middle of the fells and everywhere we looked was beautiful unspoilt scenery. We could walk our dog in a variety of directions although he did need to be on a lead most of the time because of the sheep - but there are walks nearby where dogs can be off the lead, so just ask the owners. The owners were friendly and welcoming and responded instantly when the kitchen light bulb went in the middle of cooking Christmas dinner! We loved the location. We needed a family sized TV.
