This immaculately presented, ground floor 17th century cottage is located in the charming village of Staveley in the Lake District National Park and can sleep four people in two bedrooms. Fox Barn is a beautifully presented, 17th century ground floor cottage, located in the village of Staveley in the Lake District and can sleep four people. The cottage has a double bedroom, a king-size double bedroom (zip/link, can be twin on request), a bathroom and an open plan living area with a fitted kitchen, dining area and sitting area with an electric fire. Outside there is roadside parking directly outside the cottage and a south-facing front patio... with furniture, a barbecue and a chiminea. Fox Barn is a wonderful base for your holiday in the Lake District.

Town: Staveley is situated between Kendal and Windermere and has gained a reputation as the Gateway to the Lakes. It is mainly comprised of picturesque, grey slate buildings, sandwiched between the rivers Kent and Gowan. This once forested area was grazed as early as 4000BC. Iron Age farmers settled first and were followed by the English and Scandinavians and evidence of these early civilizations can be found throughout the region. The village has an excellent range of amenities including a variety of shops, two pubs, craft shops and a railway station. Nearby, Windermere and Ambleside offer a number of attractions such as boat trips on Lake Windemere and a ferry to the Lakeside Aquarium and Grizedale Forest Park.Read more

Winter Short Breaks (WSB) are available at many properties in the "Winter" period - subject to availability. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. Off Season Breaks (OSB) are available at many properties in parts of the "Low" and "Mid" periods - subject to availability. The price for a 3 night break is either 75% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. OSBs can be booked within a calendar month of the start date of the holiday. "Last Minute Breaks" (LMB) are available at most properties throughout the "LOW", "MID", "HIGH", "PEAK", "XMAS" and "NEW YEAR" periods. The price for a 3 night break is either 65% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. LMBs can be booked within one week of the start date of the holiday.
