tampa, floridaHow Steamboat compares to others
Left on 03/13/2013 for a stay in March 2013
Been to France, Austria, Utah before Steamboat.
Utah by far has the best snow, but Steamboat is a very close second. Will go back to Steamboat because of the ease of "everything". Transportation is way above any other ski area... on-call free shuttles and buses, we went out and about several times a day and never had to wait more than 10 minutes, usually less than five ... you call and they're there!!! We hope they keep the emphasis on transportation. Mountain Resort condos were well furnished and equiped, very comfortable. We had everything we needed in good condition and clean. My only suggestion would be to upgrade the TV to a flat screen. Hot-tub, fitness room, locker room and pool were very clean and nice to have available. People in and around Steamboat very customer service oriented... very friendly, it's nice to feel appreciated.
Was also very impressed with "blind skier" program, saw them several times on the runs accompanied by very caring, compassionate staff...
Mostly there for skiing, but also did a great afternoon fly fishing and another snowmobiling.

Wichita, ksVery nice

Really enjoyed the stay. The room was perfect. Building a bit dated but, had small event where elevator stopped working and there was a leak in the hallway celing down the hall from our room that we had to avoid the bucket that was used to catch the drips tat sat in the middle of the walkway. Our room 412 was perfect. Updated enough to feel modern. I tend to like newer things, and I felt very comfortable. Bed very firm if that is what you like. Firewood provided, room was spacious. Did enjoy the ski in and out scenario. I've read a few reviews saying you want building a for the ski in and out, but I don't see it. If you get plenty of speed off the run, you can get to within 20 feet of where you would take your skis off. Building a uses the same exit off the slope but is further down the path and it would mean more shuffle walking in your skis to get there. Going to ski is easiest. Out the door, put on skis and right down the entrance path. It is perfect. Hot tub, pool and club house very nice. Enjoyed their set up. Room...kitchen appealing, plenty of dishes, cookware. Everything worked. Bathroom shower clean and hot, but the water pressure not as strong as we are used to. No big deal. One thing I noticed is how nice and quiet it was. Would definitely stay there again, not in high season, pricey like every other place during Christmas time, but what can you do.
